This thread is oodles of pages long and it's not at all been entirely "JUST SAW ONE". Just as you're allowed to post your thoughts, so are the rest of us as it relates to acquiring a parcel on Bellisseria, and the methods used. Some people don't like my opinion on the game of catch and release, some do. I speak up about things I believe are wrong... like homophobia, for example, not that the two things are at all comparable.

One of the things I've noticed is the odd need people feel to obtain a parcel in one of the newer new regions. Because they are all new. Yes, even the ones released ages and ages and ages and ages ago on April 15. Referring to parcels as "waste homes" and "unwanted" and "throwbacks"... good god, y'all. Every single parcel in every single region is gorgeous. I'm not saying people should settle for a home on the sea when they'd prefer to be a inland, or a house instead of the houseboat that they really want, but c'mon. And I don't have the technical knowledge of this other than the inadvertent DDoS attacks that caused LL to put in the 10 per 10 limit (which people have found a way to get around anyway), but I see a pretty clear way that the hoppers are keeping new people from getting homes. The constant refreshing 24/7 makes it harder for someone to get through the noise of that mess to get a parcel. It's like the old days when radio stations would hold contests and the winner would have to be the 1,000 caller or something. The less people calling increases the odds for those people. The website can only handle so much traffic and the same people constantly hitting the land page decreases the odds of someone else getting through to an available Bellisseria home. As far as LL being happy with all the people creating more premium alts, I think they'd rather keep their larger base of premium residents happy than 10 or 20 or 50 or 100 people. I know I'm spitting into the wind here. The people playing the game aren't going to stop playing the game. Everyone else is just going to have to wait until there is a surplus of homes available. Until then, it's every resident for themselves.

Well, first, it would amuse me. I've never made a secret of my distaste for the throw-back game since it has morphed somewhat of a beast. I think people are genuinely developing an unhealthy obsession with finding the perfect spot that doesn't actually exist. There's no winning this game. There will always be something just not quite right about every parcel, and it troubles me to see the neurosis that is developing over it. This thread is almost 200 pages. Second, if everyone playing the "game" had a two week timeout it might give some people who just want a home on Bellisseria - any home - a chance to get in and get something without having to compete with the those searching for the mythical perfect spot. Of course, I know some would just create more premium alts to keep playing because of their addiction to the impossible game, but that'd at least be more money for LL.

You are far too generous. I'd love to see a 10 or 15 day policy put in place.

I have around 80,000... And I have a "New Stuff" folder... and a "To Sort" folder... and a "Newer Stuff to Sort"... and all the things I've recently bought just scattered throughout because I know if I put them in one of the other folders I'll forget about it. Where do we sign up for the 12 step program? I'll need something new to wear...

I barely even know what LOD is other than I keep mine on 4 whatever that means. Does my place look good to me? Yep! Does it look good to others? I have no idea since I'm not others. I don't think all that many people really pay attention, and if they are, chances are they're going to cam in close to take a look at things anyway.

I think it might have to do with Moles beta-testing EEP stuffs. I know when I ride Henry through some of the newer regions, or the ones still being worked on, the WL changes between parcels.

I'm really struggling to see the offense here. Someone came to check out the work your friend was doing in a public area. In the process, friend got bumped. Big whoop. In the grand scheme of offensive things that happen in SL, this would rate pretty low on the scale. If the person had continued to harass the friend, continue pushing them around, refuse to leave the house (Was it a house? I can't remember 3 pages back. I'm old) that'd be a different story, but it doesn't seem like the friend was bothered or approached by this person at all once he/she came back from being AFK. Coming back from being AFK for a few to find that my avatar had been bumped into a corner would make me laugh. That's someone being goofy, not griefing.

The rest of us may be snarky most some of the time, but @roseelvirais... well, hell, she's our very own Dolly Parton. She's sunshine, and light, and laughter, and pure wonderfulness... and extremely wise as well. The rest of us may, but probably not, get a slap on the hand, but Rose?! No way.

Only for people playing the game. Some just want a Linden Home and don't wish to be forced to compete against the game players.
