  1. Whatever happened to the Kauna clothes? I didn't see them in the 1920s-1940s area at Time Portal. I sent a male alt to look for them... he was bummed. The Gabriel stuff is nice but he wants something with a vintage look... I can't send him much L$ right now soo... any ideas? Any other freebie or low cost ideas out there... otherwise I'll try to spare some L$ and have him tour some sales... maybe there's stuff from the Shop and Hop I could score for him.
  2. I haven't had any serious problems with the official viewer, or the TPVs that use PBR. It's the occasional dynamic light shifts that has me sliding the exposure level for a given scene. Sometimes the shiny stuff bothers me, that's when I set the PBR levels back to Static Only and Manual only. I don't use Ambient Occlusion, that stays off for me. With Cool VL I have the option to toggle ALM off too, when PBR is off. I find the balance of light under PBR looking great with VL (sorry LL). The dynamic light shifts are well handled in VL IMO, so I rarely have to move the exposure level. It's usually at 1.2 for me in PBR, regardless of the viewer.
  3. If any of you happen to have latex clothes and boots from D'evil, the autohide built into some of them mostly works for LaraX. I say mostly as you may need to grab the HUD and turn off unexpected alpha spots in some areas (especially with boots), depending on what else you are wearing. I think I've picked up everything created for D'evil. It's good, classic stuff for latex fans! Another note: D'evil's in world store no longer exists, it's MP only now.
  4. This. Even with an older 1050 with 4 GB VRAM, I've very rarely encountered instances where I've run out of VRAM with texture compression turned on. Then again I tend to cap my dd at 128m or less most of the time and (so far) don't go beyond mid settings for PBR. I think the VRAM autodetection for PBR is working for me. Doesn't matter if I'm in Windows or Linux, but my Linux install gives me better OS overhead vs Windows. I've usually got some antialiasing on so my photos aren't affected much. I post-process a bit anyway. Without tc, I don't think I'd be able to tolerate virtually moshing at a club. Of course I turn off shadows (and sometimes ALM) in such areas.
  5. So... we need a head set that incorporates smell-o-vision, some sort of tongue depressor AND a IoT enabled Hazardous Chemicals bucket! Noted! 🙃🤓
  6. Back on topic... I don't mind trying to be realistic with my avi looks, but then there's this... I've demoed quite a few anthro avis in the past 2 1/2 years since I arrived in SL. This Bladencat mod I found in the MP is my favorite.
  7. I agree. Moving to Vulkan would allow some recent graphical improvements that OpenGL lacks, though. LL is way overdue for that. Also, Vulkan has been ported to different OS's, not just Windows (unlike DirectX).
  8. I don't mind using Midday for adjusting my look a bit. If I do use it, I'll adjust the sun's angle and tweak the exposure level to reduce blown highlights for shots... have to do this or else I'll have a hard time in post process. By default, sure, Midday is terrible lighting but occasionally it might work for intentionally blown shots.
  9. If you don't mind the older v1 interface, the current release of Cool VL is great. PBR and ALM can be switched off in that viewer. Catznip is terrific, but it's behind on many of the other current LL fixes aside from PBR. It should work, I run the 14.0.2 beta. I'd also recommend Kokua. Its interface is closer to the LL viewer, but has some expanded options similar to Firestorm.
  10. I hope the Premium Plus beta is successful. It would be great if lower tiered users like myself get to test the mobile viewer before the first final release is done. My not so educated guess is it'll be a bit less complex of an experience vs the desktop version. Maybe there will be options available if one attaches a separate keyboard and mouse to a mobile device, but that might defeat the purpose of even running the mobile viewer. It's early days, let's see how the tests turn out.
  11. BD has addressed it well, and luckily for me (and a few hundred other Tux fans in SL), still works in Linux via Wine, but I also have Windows 11 installed. Cool VL is awesome, though anyone who chooses to use it has to enjoy the older v1 interface. It is a very advanced TPV under the hood, yet very usable for some of us running on hardware that's 5+ years old, even on integrated graphics.
  12. Ah, wanted to try it. I can run Unity apps on my Android 12 phone. The SL mobile viewer runs on Unity, yeah? ETA, nope I don't have a paid account, just another free roaming Resident.
  13. Any idea when Akeruka will give away their free heads this season?
  14. IDK... almost in love with Noel. Posted a take in the one of the avatar threads earlier. All I did was replace the Irina on Maitreya 5.3 with one of my modded Irina body shapes, and then my RL jaw dropped for a few seconds. Love the mix of full, round cheeks and angularity I'm seeing with my Noel take. Eeeepppp... 🫢 Will it replace Irina as my main head...???? I still tend towards shape shifting/changing heads/bodies every few days but always have a main head in mind to come back to so...??? 0_o hheeellppppp meeee lol
  15. Quick run with the Noel, using my modified Lelutka Raven shape, wearing the Erika body. Looks a bit rounder, but the pointed chin of the Raven is still present.
  16. I got myself and four alts in the extra sims just this morning US ET Everyone got both heads this time. Can't wait to make my mature alts look all cyberpunk or something weird lol (not that I don't do that already hehe)... Thanks, Lelutka! (BTW also bought a couple of your heads in the past few years )
  17. When I got Raven and Quinn for myself last year, I was in there for barely a minute! My alts got them quicker, no, really.
  18. Wow, that would look perfect for my mature alt... hmmm
