  1. Nice look! =D And yes, I dabble in building from time to time, and it's very easy to get into the zone there. ^^
  2. Cobbled another outfit, and I had to share!
  3. I have a Blade Runner style city on a fairly large platform.
  4. Chillaxing at home. Yep, that's the new "Amanda" hair by Magika. And yes, it makes me think of the Boston song. XD
  5. Some St. Pat's fun. With homebrew sign, too!
  6. Pretty much my sentiments on the matter. I pay taxes when I order from Amazon and the like, so there you have it.
  7. My sister and I. We had to show off the spiffy robe/dress things!
  8. Ask, and you shall receive! =D I'll be putting more up later.
  9. Thanks! =D I have a 176 x 80 at home myself. As you might imagine, I have to get a bit creative with off sim surrounds, usually custom made by myself. Just have to be mindful of neighbor's boundaries.
  10. I generally prefer sky, and have a handful of "city" platforms. One "city" is a 1950s style place, and another that is more cyberpunk/"Blade Runner" style. Then I have a "planet", complete with a space station above. @Echelon Alcott I was wondering, what is the footprint of your parcel?
  11. I very much second this. In fact, I'd say that Builder's Brewery is essential to anyone wanting to learn about building. We all start somewhere, and much respect for taking that first step! =D Though I will advise that it does get addicting! There seems to always be some new thing to learn when it comes to it. It is an intriguing and challenging world, but it also holds it's own rewards.
  12. I can also get behind more uniforms for ladies, as well as dresses for the blokes. And when I say uniforms, I mean practical gear that would be seen on real life military and first responders. And for goodness sake, practical flat boots for women! Another thing that would be lovely is clothing that layers well, in terms of tops and bottoms that go together, and do not clip through one another. Occasionally, I will get lucky and wear things from a few different designers that fit well together. Though with that said, I've gone through my share of trial and error in this respect, and I have a feeling I'm not the only one. Also, for all you hair designers out there, more styles that work with hats are always nice, as well as mirrored variants of hairs that can be "parted" to either side. And massive kudos to those who have found that perfect shade of dark/dishwater blonde, light brown with little to no tinting on my part necessary.
  13. SL wise, I pretty much hang out, watch movies with partner, hang out with friends in general, build, RP, fly SL planes and space craft, and the odd bit of DJing. I also enjoy taking pics and posting said pics on Flickr.
  14. I truly have a love/hate relationship with events. I usually take a trip to the big monthly ones, like Collabor88, Uber and their like, and even then, I generally wait a few days to a week before hitting them, simply due to the fact they will more oft than not be crowded, and may not even be able to get in, anyway. Having said that, I tend to take about 5 - 10 minutes of looking around, in case something catches my eye. I also try to keep an eye out for special events that roll around once or twice a year, particularly ones germane to my interests and aesthetics, namely sci-fi and retro. Then we have weekend sales, and 50 L Fridays. I have a handful of the odd weekend stops, and if something catches my eye, I might take it. Otherwise, leave it. I think I am getting selective in my old age. XD More oft than not, I tend to leave these places empty handed. Or think "I'm a builder, I can make that myself!" IMO, events like that in general should be fewer and far between, and actually be special, as opposed to ridiculously over saturated.
  15. I tend to park my avi either in her own room, or chilling in the cantina. Tell me that's not a cool room to hang out in! =D I imagine she's probably playing with vintage action figures while I'm offline. Lucky duck!
  16. My step-dad loved the "Bat out of hell" album, and played it constantly when I was a kid. Meat Loaf did some good music.
  17. She's the one with the kitty ears. I'm in the homebrew Action Force tee.
  18. Very good, under-rated movie, that. Also, Persephone Emerald brings up some interesting points. So, with all that said: Why not? Of course, our avatars wink out of existence the moment we log off. But they are "alive and well" within our minds and dreams, so in that sense, yes, they do dream. On a barely related note, I had a conversation with a friend years ago. It pretty much went something along the lines of at the end of the day, it's all pixels and window dressing. But, it is all of us that make it all real. So with that being said, we all imprint on our avatars in one way or another, and therefore, our dreams are their dreams. So, long story short, yes.
  19. More or less this. I have a fair amount of alts, all representing characters I've created for a couple different storylines. And yes, some of my assorted characters are family members of each other. Sam started off being an alt, but being as she is the main character of a story I originally wrote decades ago, she was quickly promoted to main. The funny thing is, another alt was dressed in 90s grunge fashion, and it pretty much made the muse drag Sam out of hibernation. Shares a couple pics germane to the subject. Enjoy! Autumn partying like it's 1995. Sam in a winter wonderland with Kristen, her sister.
  20. Having a retro vibe in my space station. Also, did someone say something about linden bringing old places back?
