  1. In, as one says, the space station lounge, next to the donut machine.
  2. Currently reading Martin Scorsese presents the Blues, on recommendation of my partner. Before that, she and I read To Live is to Die: the Life and Death of Metallica's Cliff Burton. I'm generally more a sci-fi goober otherwise, myself! 😃 Recently read the Star Wars Thrawn Trilogy, which are: Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and the Last Command, which were written in the early 1990s by Timothy Zahn.
  3. I tend to be happy to share what I am wearing, especially if asked nicely. It is also flattering to get such as a comment on flickr, as well as IM in-world. I usually drop a "style card" of sorts, especially on flickr comments. In some cases, I have also mixed and matched parts of outfits, and will specify if that's the case. I also don't have a problem with sharing skin. Oh, and that, very very much! I'm always happy to give a shout out to favourite content creators. =D My shape is custom, though I don't mind helping folks with numbers if asked nicely.
  4. Be excellent to each other, and don't be a jerk. That's the #1 rule. When it comes to building, Second Life is like a giant Lego set. And you can even make the pieces!
  5. For colours and patterns, I tend to go for fatpacks, especially if it's more cost effective in the long run. As for body specific things, I welcome them, as I use Maitreya only, and don't see myself using much of anything else. Moreso if I get the chance to unpack Maitreya only.
  6. I generally don't get into the x-mas vibe til after Thanksgiving. Though I have made sure that I have all the Charlie Brown seasonal movies to watch! =D Though, I do enjoy playing "Christmastime is Here" on acoustic guitar any time. *^_^*;;
  7. As far as I know, such HUDs only pick up attachments. Also, skin and shape play a role in one's look. Though with that said, I don't think any HUDs can pick up shape parameters, as well.
  8. I usually take a Memorial Flight across the Blake in honour of my RL cat, whom went to the Rainbow Bridge and the time I was learning about SL planes. Poor thing got sick one day, and we planned to take him to the vet that next morning. Though alas he slipped away that night. =( Though this is earlier in October. As it happens, he was also a black cat, even.
  9. I just bought these myself, but not had the chance to do much with them yet. That being said, this is marvelous to know! =D Many thanks, and I look forward to working with them soon. ♥
  10. That's pretty much what I do for Firestorm, get rid of the buttons I don't need. I did use the regular viewer for my first several months, but once I started using Firestorm, I stuck with it. Also, it's all about A1 and/or cheese sauce for fries!
  11. Star Trek and Star Wars flavoured pics, even!
  12. Going for a sort of late summer/early autumn vibe. 😃
  13. I usually tip host/hostess as well, as well as DJ and venue. In fact, a DJ friend just did a set, and a close friend of ours is her host. I generally tip them both equal.
  14. Well, first, I must preface by saying that Sam herself is based on a character of the same name I created a great many years before SL existed. With that being said, another character I had at the time was dressed partying like it's 1994 or so, and it took me back to that time. And thus, Sam came back into existence as an SL avie. In my mind, she always had a fairly specific look, so I knew exactly what I was looking for, and went with it. I have to say, I am rather fairly pleased with what I've come up with. It is rare for me to make any changes these days. I'm pretty content with what I have. Though if I try a skin demo that truly impresses me and feels even more "me" than what I have, I will use that. Or make "Shape tweak MK 20" which might be a subtle adjustment to one bit or another! XD Anyroad, Sam is pretty much your dork chick next door that works as a rookie astronaut, and my clothing choices tend to reflect that. Dark blonde/light brown hair, fair, average leaning to curvy build, early 20s. Sometimes has a rock tee shirt with jeans, her ship's uniform, or, on occasion even cleans up nicely in an elegant dress!
  15. Not quite sure I see it, but I was once told my avi resembles Scarlett Johanson, all while just relaxing at the Mystery Science Theater 3000 sim.
  16. At, as one says, the greasy spoon downtown.
