  1. Channeling my inner Final Fantasy monk.
  2. Pretty much this. I'm in the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" camp. I've been using Maitreya since 2015, and see no reason to jump ship. Plus, let's not forget that everyone and their dog makes stuff for Maitreya.
  3. Interesting. I'll have to look those up. I've always had a soft spot for pretty much all mid century era jets, as my grandfather served in the Air Force during that time.
  4. Clothing, hair, retro style deco, sci-fi deco, space stations, building, anims/poses. Also the odd background/backdrop or two for pics. Building supplies, especially textures - you can never have enough textures! And greeblies, too! I might sometimes get a new skin if I try a demo and it really grabs me. Sc-fi anything is pretty much a must have for me. Retro style sci-fi - Jetsons, OG Star Trek and the like - even more so. I used to buy lots of planes, as well. Though I think I have just about every F-15 made in SL! XD A few F-4s as well. Someone make the Century series jets allready! I also keep an eye peeled for the occasional sales some of my favourite shops do, especially those that do weekend sales. Never know what you'll find!
  5. Chilling outside, now in a 1980s/90s style! With homemade tee even.
  6. Does this place get together on any other night beside Wednesday? I generally have other commitments at that time.
  7. Cheers, everyone! RL birthday was a couple days ago, and finally got a moment to take a snap. *^_^*
  8. Pretty much any housing in SL, for sure. One of FIN's homes had a huge room that was so large, I modded said room into a bed and bath. I am thankful this particular maker makes their models in a more or less logical manner that allows for intuitive modding, for bits one can add and take out, as well as re-texturing as one may see fit. Also, by a similar token, Isil offers many "lego" pieces in neutrals that one can tint any colour they choose. Because of this, I was able to create my space station at home, and give it a retro feel! Some furnishings I also find myself resizing some to look right, in scale. Especially if the item seems in scale with the odd 10 ft tall giant one occasionally sees about. But then, I'm one of those realistically scaled avatars. Also, the odd bit of re-texturing and re-scaling is good for furnishings, as well as decor pieces. In one instance, I replaced the textures of a box of records with my favourite album covers. Also, I'll agree with anything that casts lighting. The feature tab is very much your friend here once you've worked out how to tone the light down to something reasonable! Subtle, less harsh colours also help. Also, I think it's a law of SL to have to mod hairs, hats or both to effectively fit. On a similar note, it is always nice to have the option to tint a hair just so. And yes, turning off full bright when not needed is a must.
  9. Oh, very much so! There used to be a place up the street from me where I'd get many a CD during the early - mid 90s. The bloke that ran the place had a penchant for getting me all the thrash and death metal stuff I could handle! I also miss comic book shops as well. Same here! Seems that grandmothers are the queens of mac and cheese. While I can make a good facsimile of Nanny's mac and cheese, hers was epic! Other things I miss in RL are Jolt and Surge colas. RC is about the closest I can get to Jolt. SL-wise, I miss Nix Sands and his Xenops and Ecentricity (sp?) lines. I can only imagine the artistry he'd create were he still with us. I also miss the Greeblers, and their Mesa 5 sim. That was a spectacular build!
  10. Magika has some nice stuff. Love the "Midnight" style. They have another style called "Sierra". Doux also has a nice bun style called "Olivia". Wasabi Pills have some nice pony tail styles that can be worn with and without a hat, "Denver" and "Sam" I believe they're called.
  11. Chilling out outside of my vintage diner. Even got a new skin since the last time I posted here. I
  12. Grooving and chilling out. And yes, that is a Judas Priest album underneath the Glenn Miller.
  13. Boogeying down in the space station lounge! 😃 Picked up a few things at a vintage event, and I just had to snap. Just might be boogeying down to Frank Sinatra or Glenn Miller. Or even Boston. ^_~
  14. Excellent point. I tend to date myself when I talk about Star Wars and 70s rock. I'm pushing 50 and feel like I should be running around the back yard with a toy Millenium Falcon, playing Boston's first album - on 8 track! As much as I enjoy hard rock/metal music, I can not stand most of those clubs because of that very behaviour. I also turn off gesture sounds for that very reason, as I can't well enjoy music with some moron spamming "WOOOOOOOO!!!!" every 5 or 10 seconds or so. And, don't get me started on what an eyesore those non-standard fonts are. Conversely, while I can't speak for any places outside of the classical one I go to, I have found that the classical place's crowd is more reserved, and conversations tend to be fairly polite and laid back. And not an obnoxious gesture in sight.
  15. Classical also likely to have older folks.
