Hello once again, according to silent mistwalker, you can stop all the popups, I mean I welcome local chat, and I can always just go to the group profile and check their postings. The included pic is from the new 7.0 rc SL viewer, and I have to admit, I have not been bombarded with popups since, but I might have been on at a time when nothing was happening.

Hello.. /me waves, for as long as i can remember I have been using firestorm viewer, more than likely to stay on it. Just recently, I installed an extra viewer, the new 7.0 rc SL viewer. On my 6 year old machine, as long as I have the grafix no more than medium setting, I sorta like it. Warning .. Rant following... On the firestorm viewer, if you click on a group profile, you have options of show in my profile or not, recieve group messages or not, and recieve group instant messages or not. In the new SL viewer, with group profiles, you have options of show in my profile or not, and recieve group messages or not, but I cant seem to find the the check off box for if i want to recieve group instant messages and group chat or not. I got bombarded by these bleeping messages flashing on my screen so fast i couldnt even read them, and the ding ding's of the i'ms kept waking me up! (End Rant!) Is there any way to turn group instant messages off in the sl viewer? I couldnt find it.

Sorta sounds a bit like that "friends list" issue. 🤔

Actually not me, but my SL roommate gets this message when they log in to sl, but I don't! We both run firestorm viewer. any idea what actually is meant? It just started in the last day or so. ( nothing is done to make this message happen, it appears as they log in, usually on the same sim as i do. )

With some forthcoming changes to SL in the next year or so, this thread could prove useful . Btw if that pc you mentioned has on board graphics, it may hinder your your SL experience.

Ok, for fun, I went back to my old system avatar, and tried out the jamie body and head!🤢🤮. Honestly, i got the look of a older eastern block female weightlifter!! ( a pic similar to this is on page 1 of this posting! ) . As if SL doesnt confuse newbs enough, gees, i hope that is not the default female avie. I certainly want my avie to at least look like a female lol.

restarting your modem/router can sometimes help too.

Nope, just got a 1 L item and a free demo as a test. Even got the email to say i did.

That would be nice, Anyone considering getting a whole sim for the first time could consider this test sim. http://simonastick.com/ I mean it doesnt connect to SL though, and even i admit what you can do on it is a little outdated.

I am at the gift area sim, and surprisingly little lag. This at midnight slt btw, I havent been to any events yet, I might have a different opinion then lol

I have had no issues with the current firestorm viewer, BUT, I was having a similar issue to what you described with the previous version of the viewer, I narrowed it down a bit to think it may have been a cache corruption, but after uninstalling the old viewer instead of just upgrading the viewer seemed to fix my issue. This may not be what is happening to yours, however, hopefully someone can provide a more technical answer.

Actually, if you have a maitreya body and clothing to suit, if someone tries to derez the clothing, you just see the alpha layer. Well, in my viewer anyway..🫣 But if you have just logged into the sim, you may see nakie avs till everything rezzes tho.

Ok, just for the point of it, I logged into my steam account for about the first time in a few months, I don't play halo infinite as much as I used to, and checked out what the OP is on about. I wouldn't pay for them myself, I noticed "college bound" was free to play if anyone is interested, but you could possibly find patched versions of these games on the net somewhere if you knew where to look.
