To help mitigate this, Firestorm 6.0.2 includes an option to derender all Animesh in a scene (Developer menu > Rendering > Derender All Animesh). Note that this is only temporary, and derendered Animesh will reappear after a teleport or re-logging.

Has anyone noticed there's a bit of a stigma with alts? What's with that? I get this impression from people's conversations, group chats etc. Things said about them include: "This is how you spot an alt, if there's no payment info in their profile but they're all meshed out" ... um.. is there a reason why do we need to spot an alt? "Pfft clearly an alt" "< insert name > accused me of being an alt" Why are all these people getting so upset about others having another account?

Animesh did not add any value for me. Maybe it's not even related but I've encountered more problems with crashes after the animesh release. Either way, animesh takes up more juice and I'd rather run SL more smoothly than see a couple more moving things on my screen. I know there's a way to derender each time you TP but it would be cool to be able to derender permanently.

I've actually had a lot of dudes ask me if I look like my avatar in RL. I can't even begin to list why that is annoying. I mean, dude... doesn't matter what I look like, still not going to f#ck you.

So how would we know when this feature becomes available? Dashboard? Or will it be announced in the forums? I never know where to check

Hahaha even if you did, wouldn't be able to transfer anyway lol. Nah honestly though, I didn't lose interest 'cause I got bored. More like I got addicted to taking pictures which I can't do as seamlessly now, and doing anything else inworld just doesn't fill that void so I can't be bothered to log on anymore. And now you guys have to put up with me here

I've sort of lost interest.. which is why I'm here on forums lol. It's sort of like when you've got a pizza phase, you eat it all the time 'cause it's amazing. Then you kinda get bored of it, so you just eat something else. I dunno, maybe I'm just hungry. Anyway, you should probably try something else.. or try a different topping. I started off exploring sims alone or with people. Then I moved on to taking pictures. But recently for some reason I crash whenever I up my graphics for snapshots so I'm over it. Um I'm a little late to this thread but I only just joined the forums and I've got (sort of) a story. I wouldn't doubt your gut feeling too much if I were you CandyLips because I don't think it's that uncommon for people to use alts to make moves on one person. I've heard stories from other people but this one's from me. When I first joined, I met this guy who was standing around outside Truth hair store. I was new so my guard was down. We chatted for an hour and then afterwards he became OTT possessive, crazy crazy, like he would verbally abuse me for hanging out with another guy friend and throw tantrums, ask me what I'm doing every minute, etc etc. Anyway it totally ruined my SL vibe so I said cya to him, deleted the account I joined on and started a new one (not this one; I've since developed massive paranoia so now I keep a separate account for different things). A month later, I was shopping at Truth with my brand new account and I get an IM from a stranger saying "miss me?". After all the "who are you" questions, turns out it was him.. stalking outside Truth again, maybe for me, or maybe to harass someone else. Who knows. Just saying, there's all sorts of crazy that's possible and if your gut is saying something, then it's probably right.

Hi So I've read from various sources that you should limit the number of elements within a folder (< 1,000) and avoid having too "flat" of an inventory structure. I'm trying to get my inventory right and I guess I've got a few questions =/ (1) Does the "< 1,000 items within one folder" recommendation apply to system folders (system folders like Animations, Objects, Clothing, etc)? Right now I have my total of around 65,000 elements organized in folders that I have created which are all sitting within those system folders and I have nothing sitting outside of them. This means that all of my system folders have more than 1,000 elements in them. Is this a problem? (2) The folders I have created inside the system folders are then segmented into subfolders. For example, inside the "Clothing" system folder, I have created a folder called "Shoes", which then contains subfolders (Gift, Purchased, Costume). Do I only need to worry about those subfolders being under the 1,000 threshold or do all folders need to be under 1,000 which means my "Shoes" folder is currently a problem? Sorry if the answer might seem obvious. I already have a feeling I might have to reshuffle a few things. I'm just reluctant 'cause I kind of like the way I have set things up atm! Well.. I'm just about to reply to sort of an old thread. It's about inventory management and I'm very thankful that it hasn't been locked. I don't see how creating a new thread about the same topic would be helpful. I mean.. if someone did a search, wouldn't it be better for that person to find all the relevant info in one thread rather than see 10 different threads about the same thing? Just saying.

Is it too late to add to this thread? I've been crashing pretty frequently lately, not just when teleporting. It started with certain sims, but now I'd crash even at my near empty skybox. Crash as in, it would crash my whole PC, not just log me out of SL. I started on Firestorm 5.1.7 (pre-animesh) and never really crashed. I was even able to take snapshots with my graphics set on Ultra. But around a month ago I started crashing at certain sims. I did a fresh reinstall, upgrading to the new animesh version of Firestorm. Now I'm crashing A LOT, even with the lowest graphics settings. I'm on Windows 10 which I read has some compatibility issues. Am I the only one experiencing this?? 😐
