  1. Point taken. I was trying to be helpful, but clearly I'm not so that's my cue.
  2. That's fair. I only made my comment because I didn't interpret her posts that way. @FairreLilette I think I know what you meant, but for everyone else's benefit, you could apologise for wrongly wording your thoughts? Anyway seriously, I'm not enjoying this anymore so have fun people.
  3. Well there is an apology but it's probably not to the standard of this crowd. Her post was not meant in the way that others interpreted, which she tried to convey. She then tried to correct her wording, but was not good enough. So I'm sure this apology will be nit-picked with faults and how wrongly worded it is. Semantics at this point.
  4. No, my post was to highlight what I think she meant, which was that she was first talking about children and their interactions with their parents. Then she went on a separate thought about people with conditions. They were not one and the same. Her reference to children was not her reference to those with conditions - they were separate and were not meant to be used as comparisons. Unless she said something else offensive that I missed. Anyway, I'm done. You guys fight it out.
  5. I think the point is that we're all from different backgrounds with different personal and health situations, and that may be something to keep in mind when interacting here. Not everyone's at the same level of eloquence, or way of thinking, so maybe we can be more patient? Or maybe not since this thread is about us being too damn nice.
  6. MINA Hair has a gift for newbies under 30 days too.
  7. I'm with you, I do appreciate politeness. But I do sense hesitance from people when it comes to making contact but then again, I could be wrong.
  8. The silence inworld could be because we're not nice at all. People get touchy about getting IMd by strangers or getting bumped accidentally, it's enough to make you want to avoid people altogether. Most of the IMs I've gotten from strangers start off with "sorry to bother you... ", it's sad when people feel they can't approach others and have to start with an apology. Drama wouldn't be good for sl because people would just end up being blocked. Even leaving a product review puts you at risk of that.
  9. Sent a notecard to a creator about their permissions being wrong and them coming back to tell me they're not going to fix it since not enough people complained about it *sigh*
  10. Yeah why do people call regions sims? Is it from The Sims or something?
  11. Not everyone's nice here on the forum which I'm sure you've figured out. But if you want to participate, I guess you'll have to stiffen up that upper lip and take all kinds of people. There have been times I've felt discouraged to participate here too due to.. people, so you're not the only one. The trick IMO is to ignore it. Engaging them and letting them know they're getting to you makes it worse. Don't give people power over you. You can choose to only engage with people who have a positive impact on you.
  12. Wait.. what? Do merchants get told who flagged their listings?
  13. I do see the reasons for merchants blocking customers. I just think that the ability to block should be two way. That's just my opinion anyway *shrug*
  14. Ah sorry I didn't know that function but thanks. True and I know you're right. But what I mean is that the function would be more of a convenience to buyers rather than a necessity. I am really just thinking about the sheer number of gacha resellers that a buyer can't realistically keep track of. I've been burnt by quite a few and I have a list that I peruse before checking out. Sure it's doable but like I said, it'd be more of a convenience.
  15. I actually never questioned it until you posted this thread and come to think of it, it's quite silly. This doesn't exist in rl - no one is stopped from making purchases online and leaving negative reviews on, say Ebay (ETA: oops I was wrong on this, have since been corrected so please ignore!). So the fact that it exists here makes transacting in sl into a petty fest. Not to mention, the function doesn't exist the other way around which is a bias against customers and for sellers. If sellers can block customers, customers should also be able to block sellers (on mp).
  16. It makes me sad how many people are unaware of triangle count and the concept of resource intensity. Of course you can make an aesthetically immaculate body if they have no limit to triangle count. Plus, it's not about how old a user's computer is, it's about measuring whether or not it's worth that much of your resources to render, say, your friggin toenail. If you own a beast car, are you always going to rev it to the max all the time? I demo'd the Legacy body and piled it on top of the Maitreya, and the shape is so close. Of course Legacy is smoother but that is attributed to the ridiculously high triangle count. My computer now is custom built and brand new but regardless, resource is resource. Just because I've got a beast machine, I'm not going to make sure each of my eyeballs is a million triangles. We all have a choice to use our brains, at least sometimes. What Maitreya has done with their add-ons and updates is clever, efficient and also affordable (instead of a money grab). It's hard to imagine anyone would make a body like Legacy if they cared about the grid.
  17. Thanks for the answers. There are so many gacha resellers, I'm afraid I'll eventually forget which stores I intended to avoid, but I suppose I should really just avoid mp gachas altogether.
  18. I've had a few not-so-nice experiences from buying gacha on marketplace, so I'm wondering if there is a way to "block" from buying from certain sellers? I know sellers can block customers, but how about the other way around? Yes I know, "just don't buy from them duh!", but it's not realistic to remember usernames and keep referring to a list every time you're about to buy something, right? Ahhh gacha on the marketplace, such a love hate relationship!!
  19. I like the OP's vision, but the general perception of SL isn't completely off-base IMO. True, our userbase is decent and there isn't a serious alternative to our virtual world, but sl isn't exactly growing (hasn't been for a long time) and is very bad at staying current. The learning curve is steep, it's getting (too) expensive, the availability of up to date information is lacking, not to mention the ease of getting to it. My general vibe is that they're more interested in making more money out of us than delivering value or making their product better. That's not surprising for a for-profit company I suppose, but that doesn't leave me in much of a mood to go raving about them to other people. I'm still here supporting sl... tentatively. That's my input for now, but kudos to the OP.
  20. To be fair, there are people who type as if they are talking. Not everyone is going to approach the forum formally.
  21. They were trying to remmy something... (... sorry, couldn't help myself!)
  22. I've never seen this exact hair before so I could be wrong, but maybe try no_match (or n0_match?)
  23. Here are some pics and landmarks. Also, if you go into your viewer's World menu and look at Parcel Details, you will know what area you are working with (or right-click the floor of your land and select from the menu). This can help you choose the right size of your house. Llorisen : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Cosmos/58/126/21 Scarlet Creative (houses range in size) : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Scarlet Creative/63/42/22 tarte : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/tarte/157/114/23 hive : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/hive/133/111/26 At the entrance, click on BUILDS to teleport within the store. +ILO+ : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Maia/170/158/701 Not much there, but when you said small, this came to mind. HAIKEI : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/LoveCats/113/138/3012 Take the stairs to your left when you first land, and go to the second floor. Concept} : http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Sky Line/186/89/21 There are builds/houses scattered all over the place, and some are small but I don't remember there being any 2 bedroom ones.
  24. Not entirely sure how small you mean, but here goes: tarte, hive, +ILO+, haikei.. maybe Concept}
