Not precisely SSP related, but close enough. As I was looking around the map, I noticed the 2 regions just off the coast of the squishy pickle appear to be getting moved. The upper one was called As the world turns, or Days of our Lives, or something like that.. Now both of them are just <loading.....> when clicked on, which usually means a move. So I have to wonder if something eventually will be added on that side, since once they're gone it'll be a big empty spot. Or maybe they requested a move because they were unhappy with neighbors! I dunno, I'm bored.

The reason I hang out on release candidates, is because it's incredibly tiring to stare at a refresh page just hoping. Hanging in the area I can just enjoy the scenery, and be alerted when I need to focus on the webpage.

I get this sometimes too, One time I really wanted something, but couldn't see it. I IMd the seller, and they said they had a picture up, but would look into it. I've noticed it's always across the board with certain sellers.. same as in the pic you took, they all are blank for the same one, while others show. I'm going to wager a guess that the MP doesn't like a certain format, like jpeg vs png. Perhaps they are using a different format than those two most common ones.

I guess I'm not good at the out of sight, out of mind thing. On mainland, I always looked for parcels that were in a seemingly nice area, then a month later someone new would move in with a lot of stuff that made me wince, and I would sell and move, or just go rent somewhere that had a covenant. I'd never complain to any neighbor, they shouldn't have to cater to anyone. But if I de-rendered, say, a skybox someone decided to live in on the ground, it bothered me more than just looking at it, knowing now it was hiding. I'm so weird. But with de-rendering people, it gets interesting. I've concluded that avatars you don't know on a personal level have the same effect on us as cars. Car in your way, or person driving a car in your way? Some see the person, some see the car. How we view them is how we react. Hmmmm!!

sigh.. it was good for a while, but now I see I have to once again try to repair the light on my region. Sun backwards, no haze, strange water. Everything looks awful again. Edit: I can't even fix it this time, it's so broken. If it's going to stay like this, I'm letting my sim go. *bump* because it's an invaluable guide for those who come to the forums because they can't figure out why they only see older homes. This is so much help!

See I think that's the gist of it.. for me. I don't necessarily want to immerse myself in SL version of reality, I just like experiencing a whole different place than reality.. SL in all it's glory, the good, the bad, and the ugly, things that make it SL and not the world our other selves live in. There's no right way to do SL, we have the amazing capability tomake it whatever makes us happy

I should add I don't block anyone... Once or twice I have, temporarily til I was confident it had blown over, then unblocked.. I do block spamming objects though!

I understand the why of it all, either performance or aesthetic, just trying to figure out why most are indifferent to taking those things out of the equation.. Is it truly out of sight out of mind? If I derender anything, it's like a hangnail that's still there, only even worse now that I can't see it. It's like I'm in denial and aware I'm in denial and don't *want* to be in denial! Maybe part of it is wanting to see what everyone else sees, no exceptions. A hive mind thing....

I tend to really overthink things. I always want to know what's at the root of everything, and why certain things are looked at in different ways by people. With de-rendering, some people will happily have their viewer to set show friends only, and click click away, de-rendering objects they don't like. I feel so odd if I do this. Even if people and things make my fps drop to 2.5, I want to see what's around me! If I erase parts of SL it feels like a malfunction. I know things and people are there, they're just ghosts, and I feel "off" Do others feel like this? And what basic factor in people do you think causes the difference? Is it immersion? Is it a "my world, my way" thing, rather than accepting all the speed bumps and imperfections at face value? I also wonder if people who erase parts also are the same ones who always use their own windlights. I feel like that's connected. Just curious what others think.

Still more underwater caves, and these are massive! I definitely am going to be looking for an updated mermaid avatar now. I won't give the location away so explorers can enjoy.. there's a ton of other stuff in the area. Maybe it's not new? It's new to me!!
