  1. I think a whole lot of misunderstanding just happened recently I need to take a forum break I think... I got defensive because of the implication the more casual properties were sub-par to the more upscale folks, and 'ruining' the area. That was the post I was responding to, originally, not you, Elora! Ugh.. I need to stick with pictures only.
  2. deleted post because it came out wrong >.> Mostly I just want to say, as someone who has spent a lot of time at national park campgrounds, I've never seen one that didn't have lawn chairs, coolers, and who knows what else strewn around many of the spaces. It's a different life. It's laid back. It's really whatever you want it to be. But it's mean to put a label like trailer trash on it.
  3. Entertainment center. If you've never used cement blocks and wood slabs for a TV or stereo, you haven't lived.
  4. Default settlings are what I mean when I say much darker overall. Sure, I can make personal settings, and have lighting more to my taste, but for example in Bellisseria, I *used* to enjoy using regional, because it was quite lovely there. But now the past week, even a sunny afternoon looks exactly as if a solar eclipse is in progress. It's so dark, using regional default isn't even an option any more. There is no way to adjust gamma in graphics options, it's only for making personal environment settings that override regional. One would think a "compromise" standard light stemming from EEP would be a realistic look we see in RL. This dark gloomy light is not realistic, and a far cry from an upgrade. Seeing recent pictures on these forums, when people use defaults, everything is so dark you have to squint to see details. Daylight pictures, mind you. It's not my graphics, every single other game I play have days that actually look like daytime. I'm sorry I'm so vocal about this. Light and sound in SL has always been a fascination with me, they are like foundations of creating a mood and vibe with almost everything else. When one of those two things are off, it throws ME off. If I have to always use my own light and sound, I feel a disconnection from the virtual world around me. I probably belong in a padded cell somewhere. Knowing this is the first step in recovery, right? I'll back out of this thread for real now. What happens, happens, and I'll adjust however I need to. But if this is how default SL is going to look now, it makes me sad.
  5. These 512's don't even feel like 512 to me, the old homes, those did feel like 512. The spacing, and landscaping for campers is like an optical illusion, but because it *is* only 512, the tighter prim allowance I don't even feel. For those who like big homes, I understand feeling limited, but I've always liked cozy, small spaces, so I'm just in seventh heaven now. I'm a little amazed at the well thought out planning with layout of it all.
  6. cabinets are just home made prims with a drawer texture. 'Cause the first rule of tiny home living is lots of cabinets! The walls also, home made mesh shell I put my own texture on. Both very easy to do yourself!
  7. Again, after rolling restart, no atmospheric haze, and sun only in default position, can't be moved (when applying to region). I'm glad this battle is finally almost over for me, won't be dealing with region light settings, letting mine go. Although SL being considerably darker overall isn't great.
  8. So, this seems a good place to post pics of campers, rather than the home and garden. I've been decorating for hourrrrssss, but I am so digging all the beauty of the new area. I'm in nesting mode. I got the teeniest one, the Colorado, because it's just so cute, and also a bit easier to get a camper feel with it due to the size. And it's like a gypsy caravan! Still have 60+ prims left, and I pretty much packed it, plus landscaping outside. I hope to see more of what others do!
  9. all of the models are locked for me as well. I had to set "anyone" on them for it to work
  10. still 6 or 7 regions left, anyone who wants a camper, keep on trying (correction, map loaded and see 13 empty ones now)
  11. I was all excited.. I guess it's probably just being updated for campers. I thought maybe they were being released and weren't set right, but no such luck. *soon!*
  12. I overheard that this gal's boss has a daughter who is best friends with some girl who found out from an Ancestry DNA test she's third cousins with a janitor who works the night shift 2 blocks away from LL headquarters. He told her (the best friend of the one lady's boss' daughter) that he heard the Lab is hatching a plan, where on the second Tuesday of each month, at the stroke of midnight, all LH owners will randomly be assigned different homes. All of them! Can you imagine?!? A big shuffle! Obviously it's true, considering the info was gotten from the source, almost.
  13. ^ still unclaimed, refreshers, and a nice spot oop, nm, just got took
  14. I have settings to always show complexity of myself and others below their name, so it does matter to me, but only for myself. I always keep things for me under 50k complexity total, which is quite easy to do. My very favorite hair weighs in at 75k just by itself, so I never use it Even though it's my favorite ever, with the rest of me and outfit, no way I can be under 100k, so because I'm stubborn, it sits alone and sad in my inventory. Complexity is just one of those things I obsess over. If someone else has 700k by me, I don't notice any decrease in performance personally, I just like knowing. If it's a friend, I might bring it up. Highest was a horse avi with a gigantic flexi mane and tail that weighed in at a little over 2.3 million! I dunno. It just bothers me knowing I might be a jelly doll to people with it set low. I'm no jelly doll!
  15. I can't afford any more premiums, I had these before I even knew about Bellisseria, for donating land. And when the new themes come, I'll just go with what I like best I guess. I'm excited/dreading seeing what the future holds!
  16. Rocks unlinked from a Trompe Loeil thing. I've had them for a long time and used them in other things. I have a ton of landscape stuff, because I've built sims.. So I kinda knew what I had in mind and already had everything for it, plus experience with landscaping. I just hadn't worked with anything quite like this, so had fun with it. You just need to sort of imagine a place, or even look for RL pictures of a theme - that helps. Just experiment, you have more potential there than you know!
  17. *waves to new neighbor* I live on that region, and really fell in love with the terrain. At first, I wasn't sure I was going to keep it, I just wanted to experiment and see what I could do with it. The process and final look made me decide I'll never leave. I went with a nature look, and added some pines, because it felt like pines should be on a mountain. Also, you'll notice the terrain texture has spots with a speckling of autumn leaves, perfect to use for a fall tree or two! Added a little bit of grass to soften it, and now it's home sweet home. It's a fun challenge, but rewarding. Here's the back yard. (also shows the rocks mentioned in the other thread)
  18. Cory Edo (trompe) has rock features in other creations that match really well.. Just unlink them, it's what I've used, and blends right in. The dreaming house in particular has a lot of different shapes
  19. I have 3 premiums.. one for each type of home. My traditional on "mud hill" I'm completely happy with on one, houseboat on Gangway with main also happy with, and third alt was hopping around just for fun, but is no longer doing that, just waiting on campers. So not freeing up a home, but not in the mix for current competition either. I found my interest in the big chase waned once I felt "bonded" to the properties, spending time there, personalizing it, getting comfy. I see so many homes just sitting there lonely, few are getting attached to them.
  20. LOD only matters to me on outside things. It seems your pergola is fine, really. From the distance it's breaking up at your low setting, someone's focus would be on something closer anyway. One thing I am seeing more of, that I absolutely love, is creators including 2 versions when you buy.. Low LOD for low LI, or higher for higher LI. My latest was a little dock. I could use the 2LI one, but opted for the 9LI one, so it wouldn't be a triangle to passing boats. If all creators gave us this option, SL would be so much easier to decorate. I know it's a little more work, but is it really so much more?
  21. My alt got an abandoned during the release as well. That's like the third time. I'm content with what I have on me, was just fishing, but will have her sit until the campers come, since that's been the plan all along. I hope it's not too much longer, I can hardly wait
  22. Seems a report to LL on this would be acted on quickly, hopefully. I get the bots on my homestead, daily, for years, it doesn't bother me, but it sure would if they were popping into my home! Also the bots are always floating up a ways.
  23. I had to go look at MP, do the filtering for gachas, price high to low, and I think maybe some of those people may be a little confused who are listing. The beanie, however, is classic. It's like a statement, LOL! I hope someone buys it and displays it proudly in their home like a Picasso. (while the seller grins and rubs their hands together planning their next great get rich idea)
