  1. Actually IMHO an organized party guild as presented is nothing more but a commercial music club - a vagabonding commercial club with no home, but a commercial club none the less. But finally it is up to the Lindens to decide wether this one is stepping the line or not.
  2. Nope and they are useless, if I learned anything about trolls it is that they are anything but impulsive - the smart ones (And the stupid ones you don't need to bother with as much anyways) just create alts and let them mature for 30 days before using them for mischief... So much for age restrictions...
  3. And how would they be allowed to proove that? Right now you usually cannot access SL until you finished that obstacle course by the Moles - theoretically all you encounter out in the wild should know how to move - but some still don't.
  4. I have run into that some times now - some games seem to overdo their calls. AFAIK there is a limited number of http calls you can do from a sim in a a given period, so once some wicked http leech all ate them up all the other users are doomed for a while... Can also be (ab)used as emergency defence - if you suspect those not-a-vampire game which must not be named on your sim: SPAM the http requests until an error occurs and their HUDs go useless.
  5. I could do all that late on day one - don't judge from yourself onto others...
  6. also try bookmarking this adress: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/products/search?&lang=en-US&utf8=✓&search[per_page]=96 the bold typed part makes you display 96 items... You will usually only see https://marketplace.secondlife.com/products/search though, with the later search options greyed out or completely hidden by your browser
  7. How would having to pay real dollars change your problem of a changing value? Linden Lab has to pay it's employees in dollars so charging pounds would shift the risk to them in a totally unnescessary manner. My guess is that they also would have to employ at least 2 more people with the sole job of monitoring foreign currency fluctuations and adapting the fees in those foreign currencies when needed... and in the end you still would have to pay relatively more than before, just with 1 or 2 days of delay (or temporary inavailability of service if fluctuations get too gross).
  8. Is your browser set to delete cookies on exit? If so, try adding the MP to the cookie whitelist.
  9. @Seba Serpente yet the covenant does not disallow systematically banning each your neighbours by hand (yet) ... I bet some folks already did so. A simple countermeasure would be to forbid security systems to automatically add people to the banlist (which is surprisingly still allowed/not mentioned by the covenant at all).
  10. Technically not neccesary - as it is a security system that is no equivalent to the mole supplied one - the difficulty would be to spot it in action ... Most folks would simply assume their new neighbour hates them for an unknown reason. I ran into similar stuff when my car got stuck inside a hedge after a sim crossing - it's annoying enough when it only fires once you set foot on the parcel.
  11. as if it were necessary... give me 2 days and the wiki documentation and I write you a security system that just scans for avatars on sim and puts each of them on the parcel ban list for 5 minutes unless already there or whitelisted... BAM! - as good as ban lines - Possible within current restrictions placed by the Lab? Sure - Legit? I doubt so ... PS: so if you see yourself on a parcel's banlist without ever going there before and loads of other avatars too ... it might as well just be the simple loophole abuse I just described - easy to check though : send an incognito alt or unrelated friend - if also banned you know what's going on
  12. Leave that to market dynamics... once the LDPW pet project is complete moderation effort on it will drop (investment is done - any remaining permanent workload must be balanced by income). They can moderate general style and breaches of covenant - but moderating item quality would be challenging at least... If you look around the uglification of the new Linden Homes already began. People are putting out really ugly plants and structures. Once the neighbourhood is defaced enough the hipsters will start searching for a new place.
  13. ...or the Pulitzer Prize...
  14. If you keep reacting to those few persons fueling the fire the thread will get closed - something you know they won't be unhappy about, better just ignore them
  15. Did you ask them if they are OK with your methods? YOU might be doing more harm to the situation than you can imagine...
  16. Yeah, better be, one of the reasons I never use the "unavailable" status...
  17. ... well at least it is new people complaining each time while the same handful of Bellarissians take it a personal offence each time someone says something as simple as "there obviously are not enough homes"... The idea of complaining is that people want something to change... those complaining still have not given up on their premium memberships yet. If not enough folks complain the Lab will never know their customers are unhappy with the situation... and guess what: This ain't kindergarden - grown up people don't complain easily. With so many folks already bothering to complain on the Forums you don't even want to know how the silent mass of the userbase feels about their premium memberships...
  18. I guess it is double LI quota and sailable sea access - they are IMHO still mass produced - they might get more attention and demand more time, but show me one corner of the continent where the streets do not look alike.
  19. I doubt the concept will re-emerge. Camping pretty much died out too. Right now I only know of 1 still active ...
  20. I doubt they'll question it unless some similar incidents network ban their DJs and hosts... I also do not believe they don't know about this feature - voodoo aggressively advertises their network security "benefits"
  21. might have been "stop animations and revoke permissions"...
  22. They could stop using voodoo - which they apparently didn't .... it has everything to do with the owners
  23. The venues you frequent are free to use whatever security system they like. They chose to rely on a system that excludes you without them ever knowing you - but it's still their choice and there is nothing you can do about it.
  24. Actually Limit Buy would too, at least as I understand, as would selling Lindens to pay your SL fees...
  25. Actually hiring someone capable of anticipating concerns might be something they really should consider, they seem pretty bad at predicting user reactions and preparing for them.
