Female avis are getting smaller and smaller? 0.0
Gopi Passiflora replied to Nightingalia's topic in General Discussion Forum
My female human avis are the height of the body shape that the Lelutka heads come with, so about 1.5 to 2 meters I think (I shall double check the exact figure). I don't know if that's considered small or tall in the Second Life world though.... -
Obviously, the more unique avis tend to be non-human. But I decided to up the challenge further: can you remember some of the most unique human avatars you've seen? I don't want to brag, but I think the most unique human avis I've seen are several woman characters I've created with floor-dragging Rapunzel hair. I've seen nothing like them.

I believe they were Sion Chickens (which I also had).

Totally agree. I also have KittyCats and I don't keep Breedables for profit, just for the enjoyment.

-First off, I'll just say that whoever thought of the idea of Breedables in Second Life was a real genius! They sure earned their keep! I'm obsessed with what I'll get next! -Next, as you may know, the Breedables called Kreatures consist of stylized bear cubs, wolf pups, and lion cubs that can mate with each other. Lion cubs, huh? Why does the song "I Just Can't Wait To Be King" from the movie, "The Lion King" always keep popping into my head when I'm looking at my Kreatures?

What do you think of Mark Zuckerberg?
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
Well, I remember watching about that from the movie "The Social Network" about Zuckerberg and Facebook's founding...a quick wikipedia search also mentions this. -
What do you think of Mark Zuckerberg?

I will always associate this song with Facebook and Zuck: -
What do you think of Mark Zuckerberg?
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
Haha didn't know about all that! Good luck getting them to quit, though! -
I'll start this discussion by saying I think the way he got his start was kinda sleazy...he made a website comparing the looks of his college classmates. That site was the precursor to his most famous creation: Facebook.

Discontinued items you miss. (RL or SL)
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
I should totally try that out. Thanks for the suggestion! -
Today I just started filling out the picks in my profile with my parcels I'd like to show off, and I'm just curious if people check out your picks if they view your profile, and if you visit other users' picks. I haven't browsed the "picks" section of profiles I've viewed but maybe I should start doing that to find some cool places!

Name some: Popeye's Cajun Fried Rice Popeye's Cajun Fish Popeye's Chicken Bowl (I think that was what it was called: red beans and rice mixed with chicken and topped with cheese. Came with a packet of sour cream to add even more flavor.) Popeye's Jambalaya Popeye's Gumbo I think you may notice a pattern with me here.....

Just wanted to know what your favorite updo hairstyles are. I like the messy bun (although I don't have a specific product in SL in mind.)

Yep, Earth Day is tomorrow (or today, depends where you live.) Yes, the standard way to celebrate Earth Day is for doing good for the environment (picking up trash, reduce, reuse, recycle, save energy and water sources, etc.) Although, the usual arguments come that we should be doing this EVERY DAY and not just April 22. So, maybe there's ways to make Earth Day more special? This topic is more about the fun, entertaining, and more unique ways to honor Planet Earth. I was thinking people can eat a Land, Air, and Sea burger to celebrate three types of biomes found on this planet. (It doesn't necessarily have to come from McDonald's, too! Just use any combo of beef, chicken, and fish in hamburger buns!)

Have you been to a Second Life Wedding?
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
I'm betting the ceremony involves a blood pact? -
I have, in a Resident-owned social hub. It was okay, nothing home to write about. There was nice decor and the wedding itself was decently organized, although the nature of the social hubs made it susceptible to interruption from trolls. There was a pretty cool dance party afterward, too.

About vocal communication
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
Thank you for the replies everyone. I learned a little bit more about why people use (or don't use) voice. So it has nothing to do with portraying emotion, because it's decently okay to portray it through text anyway. -
Why does it matter?
Gopi Passiflora replied to Persephone Emerald's topic in General Discussion Forum
But I'm a guy in a woman avi and while I dress kinda sexy I don't wanna be hit on.... -
Wonder what they are researching? BONUS QUESTION! Speaking of science, have you seen any real-world science phenomena reproduced in Second Life? I think I've been to regions dedicated to science education, and I think I've seen demonstrations of physics in those areas. But nothing like real Chemistry or Biology.

I present this topic for discussion, because I've had this topic come up in some of the material I've been asked to read for my RL job: Do you think the reason some people prefer vocal communication over text chat (in Second Life or whatever) because you can more accurately portray emotions such as sarcasm through tone of voice? If so, what can text chatters do to better display emotion through their written words? I think text chat is indeed limited compared to voice because there is not a ready-made way to indicate tone and emotion through it than in voice. I feel this is indeed the reason why some prefer voice over text. However, I've heard of things such as emoticons, emojis, and tone indicators that can help text chatters portray emotion.
