On my 1024 m^2, 315 prim capacity mainland parcel, I have 4 Buildables, 3 "sion Chickens", and 2 "Fawns". All of them fit within the prim capacity, but after doing some reading, I'm a little worried if I'm causing my neighbors significant lag. I personally don't notice anything, but I'm wondering what you guys think if I'm going overboard with this. I'm currently planning on creating one more Buildable before storing some of them away, and continue breeding the chickens and the Fawns.

About "sion Chickens"
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
Hmm...maybe I'll do that. I tried searching for a website but all I could find were some blogs. That's how I knew how fragile they were. -
Could they be damaged from other avatars - not just their owner?

Some questions: 1. What's your favorite starting avatar? 2. I've been in Second Life for six years but only started using it vigorously this year. Any cool starting avatars that I may have missed? (I'm familiar with the current Classic, Vampires, and Fantasy avatars.) My fave starting avatar is the brunette with the white t-shirt and short jeans (Classic). Not surprisingly, I see her a lot in world.

I think I have learned some stuff from Second Life regarding interpersonal relationships and more things about myself as well - and I'm still learning new things. I learned how people perceive my different types of avatars...I especially (re)learned about the amount of attention female human characters get (although I first learned about this in other virtual worlds such as Maple Story). I extrapolated the behavior of others in Second Life to real life and had a better understanding of why people think the way they do. I learned some stuff about myself, such as the fact that I might have a better sense of humor than I realize - although it may still pale in comparison to others. I learned somewhat on how to better relate to people - although I still need improvement. There might be some other lessons I'm forgetting, but yeah. Second Life is educational in a way.

Thanks for the advice! I'll try out all of what you mentioned.

Hmm...I'll look at the brands you mentioned. I want to stick with classic as much as possible but am willing to go mesh if it makes the quality better. Thanks for the input!

Hello, I was wondering what kind of stuff I need to make a good Asian male avatar. I was thinking of starting with the "Tony" avatar and building my way up from there. I tried a product which I thought would make some nice Asian eyes but the HUD seems to not change anything.

And it's all because of the smartphones! A few questions for you: 1. Do you have a smartphone? 2. Do you think Artificial Intelligence will eventually become self-aware (a la Skynet in Terminator?) I don't have a smartphone, just a regular flip phone that I'm happy with. I don't think AI will ever become self-aware. Simply because biological brains (and consciousness) are just too complex to match with technology. But it's just a hunch.

Sexy Beach and Skinny Dip Inn are great beaches if you don't mind the A-Rating.

Race bending in Second Life

I have human characters of different races and genders, and non-human characters too. -
Most unique avatar you've ever seen?
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in Your Avatar
Wow, that certainly takes the cake for being the most unique and creative! -
I don't really give all my avatars individual backstories except for a few. However, I will say that all my avatars are visitors from other dimensions who banded together and are now friends adventuring the continent Agni together. i give three of my avatars written backstories in their profiles. One is an alien whose home is 86 light years away, another is the leader of a republic, and yet another is a constitutional monarch of a kingdom.

Does Second LIfe experience "rollbacks"?
Gopi Passiflora replied to Gopi Passiflora's topic in General Discussion Forum
Oh I see. So that's good. -
I saw some person whose avatar was just the letters "lol". I thought it was simple yet unique. One of my alts has inanimate object transformations such as a potato and an energy ball.

A rollback is basically when the state of the server is turned back to a previous restore point, such that all progress (such as items and money gained and transactions made) since that time would be erased. This was infamously common in an online game I've played. I was wondering if Second Life experiences rollbacks, and how often if it does.

I dunno, the SL logo reminds me of one of those minimalist logos that trendy upscale cafes, restaurants, and other shops have...it's really hard to explain. My mind is kinda weird making associations like that. But I guess the coffee shop header also played a factor in me thinking about food and drink....

I have many avatars. I currently play as 14 different individuals total in Second Life - they differ quite a bit in their physical characteristics. Gender: 9 males, 5 females. Species: 9 humans, 4 non-humans (grey alien, dog, Pikachu, and parrot), and 1 shape-shifter (originally human but takes on many forms including inanimate objects) Races of the human characters: 6 whites, 2 blacks, 1 East Asian. The shapeshifter's human form is East Asian as well. Age: While my characters mostly look young, I have an older male human character. I'm portraying him as a constitutional monarch of a fictional kingdom. I'm on the fence about whether I'll make more characters and how I'll make them unique.

I'm looking for a job in Second Life. I can do mainly technical or clerical tasks (such as data entry, research, writing or giving scientific or mathematical knowledge). Please post a position that you need help with and we'll see if I could do it. We can then negotiate my salary.
