  1. Wow. First I've seen anyone say that . Anywhere below 2 I just say forget it.
  2. Yep. And that is the problem I guess. Just got back from a racing track and spent time having to keep sorting my local chat and ignoring some because of IM having to aplogize later. They are there as long as SL remains. I have dragged them ,some of them along, but to similar things like I said.
  3. Shows how we all are different. 1024 for dwelling? How can that not be enough? A quarter SIM? Then I'd really be thinking about the track I'd build. Vive la difference.
  4. Still a lot of social places. But it has changed, yes. It's narrowed, in a way. Gotta find places for you. Wanna drive, drive. Many subcultures even in that realm. Speed, rideout? Drag racing? Bike, car? Both? I exist in all. But: Wanna boat? Yes. Motor or wind? "Sigh... that again" Just one example. Suspect it might exist in other realms too. One of the first convos I had as a relativly new human male was with a tiny zebra. Made me feel welcome.
  5. Me, I'd drop the Linden home and look for a 2048 on the Mainland. But that's just me. Only reason I'd really consider going from Premium to Plus worth it in the first place. But like you I don't plan to move anytime soon, like my roadside 1024 too much :)| Other than that, let a friend set up home there for free, donate it to group or rent it out at a reasonable price. Can get some pretty cheap 1024s now.
  6. So bumping relatively old posts is not that bad Racing. I do that way too much. My DM Curva or an IK equivalent. Chasing the seconds. Boating. I love checking out the World Map and see if I can get from A to B. Not sailing,, though I have some experience in that and admire those who master it, I need me some speed across water SIMs Building. You can still do a lot w prims, import some mesh and if you can't, get some on the MP Just talking with people. Trust me, it's very underrated, and before you know it hours fly by. I spend a LOT of time doing just that. Establish a conversation baseline of sorts, ignore that Friends list BS, and just meet the next time and say "oh hi again".
  7. Yeah I have heard that. Some women I know in SL know the difference between a 55 or a 57 Chevy blower motor. Yet I know they are women, as we've spent night after night talking. I know the names of their dogs... I could target them on Google Maps were I so inclined. Which I am obviously not. Just a "sigh". Whatever happened to patience.
  8. Reason I ask is I have encountered folks who ask me for my FB or other stuff. Used to be in SL (I'm not that old, going on seven years in here), where even what country you're from demanded at least a modicum of conversation. Not to mention that my female friends tell me that the first guys ask for is personal info. Don't get me wrong, I'm from the top of Europe just a short flight from polar bears, and have friends from Canada to Egypt, that's the wonder of SL. But when did it get so directly personal?
  9. That's the thing with guitars and motorcycles - they age well. Unlike (modern) cars and humans From your explanation I'd prob be more nervous about performing in SL than when I first set foot onstage And that was to drunk folks appreciating I just got the blues and "twang" right. And not throwing anything at me, thankfully
  10. (Puts my Ibanez 550 JEM Steve Vai issue back in the case...). I get it. Thanks for the explanation!
  11. Thanks all. Settled for me. I'll stick yith my AES at zero to ten percent muscle. Some say it looks kinda "ashen". Hm. I suppose in a way. My guess would be it seems that way bc folks just give up to adjust it w heads. Anywho, the price of a new body is the same as two leaderboard motorcycles. Always open to alterantive bodies. But like I said there are no darned suits for AES. Other than that I have a full wardrobe.
  12. Go to a less supported? I think you're sorta missing the point. Going from the super detailed AES to one of the popular bodies just looks, visually, like I might just go for Slink. Hence back in time. I still love my pre mesh vehicles. Some of the look darned good to this day. But you can tell the difference
  13. Support wise I'd most certainly agree. But I'd argue that the AES is the most advanced male body in SL thus far. It does attract all kinds, true - none mentioned, none left out But most just wanna have a nice beach body, and it kinda shines there
  14. In before it gets locked... This keeps popping up on the Mainland.... kinda weird.
  15. This is very true, and a bit weird. I wonder if folks actually use their RL social media in SL, or if they've created e.g. an FB account with their SL name? Hope it's the latter, using your RL social media in SL just seems very weird to me.
  16. Start with something slow, like from Surplus Motors. Jules has some nice deals, most are suited to newer drivers. Might head over to 2RAW to test it out. ETA: Where I got started, both w Surplus and 2RAW. Before you know it you'll be a speed freak and buy bikes from Deezul and IK. Warning, it's addictive
  17. Was recently asked by a nice woman how many motorcycles I have. I countered with "how many pairs of shoes do you have?" Her: How could anyone know that? Me: Exactly.
  18. Demoed the Gianni. A bit of a wtf moment. No thanks, not stepping back in time. I'll stick to my Aesthetic at zero to ten percent muscle, already got a full wardrobe from L&B and others that will last me a while... So no rush. Need a suit though. AEC is amazing in terms of textures, but in terms of shape they just be weird Just go with the most supported. They are all nice and will save you some headache. For now at least.
  19. Very true, yet it's managed to find its way from the US to Scandinavia as a shopping spree and annoying children
  20. Prof, please never leave. I like you a lot. You mostly post valuable stuff. Even though you can be pretty verbose at times
