What Keeps You Coming Back To SL?

Before I came on SL I had very little friends, very little family, and skills without employment. Now I have friends, family, a partner, and enough money to sink into a real life house which is more then I could have imagined possible. When SL goes, I'll be a virtual world citizen for life.

Any place in Second Life that simulates a realistic ecosystem?

It is 100% possible to edit existing breedable scripts to make a kind of ecosystem, just by making the food prim "grow" on a tree or plant instead of behind paywall. For the things that eat the food , they themselves can be scripted as food for bigger animals, and so on and so forth. The only thing that might stop it is script lag on a simulator, considering the amount of scripted items you would need. Realistic complexity in an ecosystem would require multiple "herbivores" eating their food, multiple "Carnivores" eating the herbivores, and scripted static objects. There are free breedable scripts out there to play with; it's just a matter of land and script resources.

If Linden Labs had created Second Life 2.0...

Since this isn't really "a game" I'm not sure if there could be a sequel, but lower land tier, easier developer tools like auto rig, and maybe hyper grid capability.

    Looking for a "Hotwife"

I think he'd do better in the adult section of the forums to find what he's looking for. But, ""whore"" has a really hateful aura around it especially on the forums for an online community known for its openness in these matters. If everyone consents and is happy, who are we to throw stones?

Do you have advanced lighting enabled?

Advanced lighting adds so much depth and beauty that it hurts to turn it off in crowded places. But, it's on otherwise. If you CAN have it on, definitely do.

    SLUniverse is Closing

The new site is already up, running, busy as usual. Both this forum and SLau- now VV have their perks. Evidently SLU has stricter moderation and a different culture as per the trumping in this thread, but I don't think the admin has time for any wild conspiracy/"leftist sycophant" activities especially with a new forum software to unpack! I wish them well.

  12. Hello! As the title said, I am having trouble changing the teleport point for my full sim. I have followed various tutorials online to do it, such as the one on the wiki, but nothing has worked. It says in the telehub menu that the telehub is connected to the object, but people who teleport onto my land still teleport to the default location! It's quite frustrating. Does anyone have any solutions/advice?

    Free Residence

This is quite a nice idea! You should maybe do something a bit more, I don't know, creative with the buildings. Give a good base that actually looks like a home, and let each pair of people decide how to decorate. It honestly looks like project housing right now. If course I mean no offence. Sharing of resources like this can work out, but only if you let people have a bit of autonomy with decision making. Community managment has an ebb and flow to it! I do somthing similar on my own land, let various friends and family from my RL live on it for free. In my opinion it works out as good as it does because each building looks very different so peoples basic secondlife needs are met without being swallowed up and unable to express themselves. Good luck though, I hope it works out.

Control Your OWN Second Life And Not Let Someone Else

I think that it's really really dumb, but unsurprising, that people can get a power high off of who does what in roleplay groups. I think people act this way online when they feel like a nobody in real life. I'm sorry this happens, but I am also aware the Gor roleplayers can have a reputation for being bat**bleep** crazy with drama and rules. Even moreso then regular roleplay. Find one group of nice, considerate people and stick to them like glue.

    What about child pornography?

My goodness, people here will fight over anything! OP, I think to be on the safe side you should report it. If it's on your land you have a right to change the rules, ban or report to LindenLabs anything you want. People have hundreds of thousands of years of gut instinct to sniff out any number of creeps. If something feels off there is a good chance it is. Once this situation is dealt with I'd put a pop-up chat message or notecard that clearly states there are to be NO sexually ambiguous child related content on your land, especially not near windows without curtains. It's your land, you get to play dictator.
