  1. About all that works with Blake are full body suits and outfits, which include a full body alpha layer. Fitted Mesh that fits Blake without alpha layers? Nope can't find anything yet. BOM shirts work of course, and BOM shorts, if you like the skin tight look. I have tried most of the popular men avatar rigged mesh with Blake, and tried to adjust the body shape to help the fit. None work without alpha layers. I have a collection of about 1000 alpha layers for my BOM Slink body. Some I had to buy on the MP. Most clothing that no longer include the alpha layers for their outfit are losing out now. I don't think they care though. Who's going to spend big bucks for an avatar designed to be a throwaway?
  2. If your house is directly in line with a race track, then I suppose a race car going 100m/sec might break thru a prim wall. Try to build your house off the race track like normal people... Invisible prim walls are used in most race tracks, because the car or bike hit the wall at a glancing angle and should bounce off, and not penetrate. I have not seen anyone driving a race vehicle on the quiet streets of Belli. If that is your experience, then stop doing it! Slowing down and being careful with some cars and bikes? That works great until you hit a region boundary and need to make a sharp turn. I've hit security orbs riding a horse in Belli, going at the slowest trot possible - these things don't exactly handle like a skate board. Mainland is no different, except you have zero second warning orbs that eject you home and ban lines you can't see until it's too late to turn.
  3. OK, so you just wanted to turn off all group chat messages. That's been in the SL viewer since 2011. I was really responding to Marianne's question about being able to select all the options by group. In the SL Viewer, you can not. I tried the 7.00 alpha/beta PBR viewer, and group options are the same. The 7.00 viewer uses more VRAM, and brightness is set wrong by LL. It also runs my GPU at much higher levels, maxing out my fans, all for nothing visually useful. Back to Firestorm, which is about 1/2 the load of this 7.00 PBR alpha viewer.
  4. I do not see where. Show where you can disable a group chat, but still keep the IM messages, for an individual group. The Preferences you showed will disable (no action) ALL groups for Group chat. Where is the setting for only one group? I only see where you can disable the group IM group notice, not the chat notice for a single group. I have Receive group notices unchecked in a group and still get the group chat notices. I don't want to mute ALL the groups in group chat, which is what the preferences setting does. So pictures please, since I have never seen that option in the SL viewer. Unless this is a new feature in the PBR beta version. I am using the Current Release SL Viewer, not the beta version 7.0xx
  5. There is no way to turn off group CHAT messages by group that I know of in the SL Viewer (and there is in Firestorm). New chat messages are always popping up sometimes several a minute. I can close them but they keep coming back with a new message. I am not talking about group IM's here. Not being able to block a group chat message is another reason I hate using the SL Viewer even for a few minutes.
  6. I use invisible prim walls all the time, to prevent visitors and my partner from walking off the edge of a sky platform. They also work great as barriers for roads and race tracks, since not every race vehicle in SL steers like a real car to say the least. Not to mention the drivers. I fail to see the problem with an invisible wall around your parcel in Belli, especially if it is near a roadway. Why is this worse than triggering a security orb and causing an insecure and sensitive resident to panic? To provide some warning, I would also plant edge bushes, or a low fence, and still add the invisible prim wall, since most mesh bushes are too easy to penetrate. (Hmmn that's sounded bad.)
  7. 102 here today, 106 Monday, 104 Tuesday, 100 Wed. Not normal in the western lush and green Williamette valley where I am. It seems normal because we have had these extended heat waves here more often in recent years. ("This date" was August 12, 2023) On Topic (sort of) - I know where a newbie can make easy lindens right in the Welcome Center estate. Hint - It's in the SL Welcome Center Skilled Gaming region. My 2 week old Jamie avatar was flat broke until she found the right game. Now she is proudly showing a 60 $L balance. Enough for a cheap body makeover. It took her about 3 hrs of mindless clicking...
  8. The "new" Realms was opened in October 2018, and I thought it was an improvement over the old cartoonish Linden Realms. New rules and mostly mesh landscaping, and it was still free for anyone, no PIOF needed, and the payout was 50 $L a week for completing the four quests. Anyone could collect crystals and cash them in for lindens after finishing the weekly quests. Now they have reduced the weekly quest payout to 25 $L, and require PIOF AND PIUsed, eg. you must buy Lindens from your RL dollars to cash out anything. They hit you with a minimum fee of $1.96 to buy lindens from your paypal or a bank credit card. So pay $5 USD and LL takes $1.96 in fees, or a 40% fee to buy lindens from SL. Newbies are not going to like this "deal". And note that to just earn enough lindens in the Realms to recover the SL buy fee is about 500 $L. It will take you about 10 weeks to earn back that 500L in the Realms. When investors take over the company, they only look at the bottom line, and the Linden Realms was a loss, if you could cash out your lindens earned in the Realms. How many newbies could to this? 1%? But But, evil Alts can game the system by also playing for hours every week to earn 50 $L each. We have to stop this huge loss to the Lab, says the bean counters. Newbies can spent $99 USD upfront and live in Bellisseria. That's the ticket. So LR was devalued.
  9. I had a friend in college that looked very much like your Blake. He was 19 and a sophomore when I met him, and he always looked like a teenager until he reached age 30. Even the glasses are the same. But my question is, why did LL make their first Mesh/Bento head avatars look like younger teenagers? Are they really going after the 16 and up Z generation? Silly question really since it's obvious.
  10. I still think it is age related. Michigan legislature recently modified the MI gambling statues from 2019 to allow persons 18 and older to participate in online sports gambling. Recently means a few months ago. But in that new section, they also stated that casino style online gambling was still allowed only for persons 21 and older, and that the online business running the gambling casinos, which is LL, must have ways to assure all online users that gamble from the state of MI are over 21. LL has no such system - you can lie about your age, use a family members credit card, or have a checking account under 21 connected to Paypal. LL does not verify your age to earn lindens from gambling. Maybe this new change in laws woke up the LL lawyers, and decided they better add MI to the ban list, for all those gamblers between 19 and 20. All we can do is speculate. You can file a ticket under any related category, such as a land issue or account issue, and then explain what the real question is. They don't reject your ticket if you happen to not have a specific category for your question. Why you think we should have the answer, and not ask LL, who does know the answer, is a mystery.
  11. https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/448339-set-home-spots/?do=findComment&comment=2047185 I didn't check this when I made a new alt. LL sent me to the Firestorm Welcome Hub, and I TPed to my mainland shop, joined the land group, and set my Home there. I never knew you had a Home set automatically - but that explains why so many newbies end up at welcome centers if a region crashes.
  12. The newbies have their priorities, when adding items to their body. I tripped over these boxes while at the LL Welcome Hub Sandbox. All the boxes were empty btw, of course I checked.
  13. I made a cup for Sid at the sandbox and it won't chip like fine China. Watch out for splinters though: Only 4 prims too, who needs mesh?
  14. Everyone send Sid a cup please. Most of mine are chipped, so only send new ones, that are all prims.
  15. So I am not the only one that thought that (see my post above). The Blake head shape and sliders are hard to adjust to look attractive as a male, because the head is too feminine as designed, almost interchangeable with Jamie. I am not surprised this is what LL figured should be their first mesh head. Says something about the management priorities though.
  16. Online casino gambling is legal only if you are 21 years of age or older in Michigan. I would guess that is why MI is on the ban list. LL would need to verify your age is 21 or older, and since they don't do that now, it is easier for them to just ban all MI residents. Here are the MI state laws on online gambling where age is mentioned: (d) “Authorized participant” means an individual who has a valid internet wagering account with an internet gaming operator and is 21 years of age or older. (c) The person maintains 1 or more mechanisms on the internet gaming platform that are designed to reasonably verify that an authorized participant is 21 years of age or older and that internet wagering is limited to transactions that are initiated and received or otherwise made by an authorized participant located in this state. https://www.letsgambleusa.com/michigan/gambling-laws/
  17. You need a bigger antenna on your wireless router:
  18. Now that looks great, but the pepperoni is missing. No comparison between Kiwi Fruit and pineapple.
  19. Blake looks better with a decent jacket. Added some aging to his face. He ages well, must be the facelift. Still Blake head and body. Exile Ryan hair and A&D Blazer. Aging face features from LeLUTKA BOM addons folder for Alain head.
  20. I think Blake has possibilities as a Pee Wee Herman look-alike. The thick lips might still be a problem. Was the designer a Pee Wee fan?
  21. Jamie on bed looking for her high heels. No changes or additions, right out of the Library default settings. Bento face and body poses look the same as on the expensive bodies, with the slimmer body shapes at least. Mouth expressions from Bento AVSitter2.2 are not the best though, more like torture than pleasure. But that is the face animation that comes with the poses, same on all heads I have tried.
  22. I have not tried either Senra head in a Bento enabled sex bed yet. I can't find anyone willing to test with her without a paper bag. Oh wait Jamie and Blake together - like brother and sister. That should work.
  23. I think the reason it took so long to release such a plain looking avatar with no features, like high heels, or realistic skins, or a basic HUD for nail and head features, or modern hair, or even a decent AO, is not because the designers were incompetent. Every time their LL bosses looked at their early results, they were told, nope that looks too good and might compete with our favorite million linden/month designers' head, skin, and body products. Make it worse - take that feature out! And it took many months to finally come up with the finished product, which competes with nothing - not even the old Library system avatars. Trixie and Bitsy are better looking with better default clothing. Just lose the cute dog Bitsy. First appearances are important,. They need taller bushes at the Welcome Center for the new arrivals to hide in. A few newbies, with no lindens, will try to make the Senra heads look unique, and PRETTY, because who wants to enter SL with a homely head? I expect they will soon give up and spend their dollars as LL wants them too, or quit SL.
  24. Good Bye for now Lindal. Please take care of yourself as I think you are doing by cutting SL and the forum off for the time being. As probably the oldest in RL active member in this forum, I am having the same thoughts, although I hope to ease out by cutting my sitting in front of the computer time down to 1/3 of what I have been doing for the last 30 years. My legs, eyes and heart will thank me, I hope.
