  1. You can run SL on a tablet via SLgo. https://slgo.onlive.com/ As for native, actual mobile device apps. Lets take a look at the functionality of Lumiya for Android on a Nexus 5 and Nexus 7. Both those devices are pretty good specs wise, though they have been surpassed by newer devices for sure. Lumiya has a 3D mode on it, and for many things it works quite well. It displays mesh, and you can see animations. You can move and control your avatar to some extent. I suppose the experience is similar to what you might see on an old 32 bit XP machine. Mobile devices though are no where near capable of supporting SL at what I would call an acceptable level of performance. If I were LL I would not release a graphical viewer for mobile devices. 1) because the performance would not be good and 2) because they themselves do not support SL on mobile broadband connections. Third party clients exist, I think Lumiya is by far and away the best, but I have not used a modern version of an app on iOS. I suppose LL could release a text only client, but I don't know that there would be much value. We know that SLGo came about because Onlive approached LL about creatig a viewer to run on thier platform. I think we see from the UI that they created that creating a mobile UI needs far more consideration than was given. You cannot just take the viewer and overlay some onscreen controls. All that said, I think that LL will release a mobile client sometime in the future. I don't think it will be for a while, but I think things will advance to the point that it will make sense. Perhaps they will even consider purchasing an existing app.

  3. LL has been making lots of changes to the way the cache works with the Project Interesting viewer releases. Cache is still limited to 10gb though. Keep in mind that the larger your cache gets the more that needs to be checked for changes as well, so there are some tradeoffs in that regard. Things do appear to be better than they were, as I see less downloads going back to my home region than I have before. For more info check:http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Featured-News/Speedy-Delivery-Introducing-the-Project-Interesting-Viewer/ba-p/2328615
  4. These changes block login where there are known compatibility and hopefully security issues. It won't make people install each and every update. That said, people should expect to see this more and more. Those who run WiFi hotspots, some server configurations, and other online tools are starting to consider scanning of machines before they connect to ensure they do not have any major security issues. You see it mostly on corporate networks now, but security pros are recommending it more and more. Best option is run a modern OS and keep up with security patches.
  5. It is restart day and some issues can occur. You might try visiting a different region to see if that helps. Keep an eye on http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ to see when maintanence is done for the day.
  6. Billing questions are best asked to Linden Lab directly: https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/ Preguntas de facturación se les pide mejor a Linden Lab directamente: https://support.secondlife.com/billing-support/
  7. Monitor the Grid Status page: http://status.secondlifegrid.net/ If your region is not back online when they have compelted the maintanence you can contact LL via the support portal at http://support.secondlife.com. Submit a support case under the land cateogry or if you are a premium user use the Live Chat to initiate the ticket.
  8. The first thing to do is to check the sellers store for a Redelivery terminal, many stores have them so you can get an item again in case of such issues. If that doesnt work, then check the sellers profile in world. They often have useful customer service information. If that still doesnt work... Each item you purchase, whether via the Market or in world has a transaction ID. Head over to your Second Life account page at secondlife.com and look under Account | Transaction History. Look for the transaction there and send the information about the transaction to the seller. You might want to look at the sellers profile as some people prefer IMs and other prefer you to send a notecard.
  9. Sometimes things get stuck, or just messed up. What I would suggest is to grab a fresh set of the attachments from the original box and start over if possible. If you can't do that then take the breast back to bare, reapply the skin applier and then reapply the clothing applier on top. Though if possible, try and start with a brand new one to avoid any issues. I cant recall if I have these ones or not, but you are welcome to IM me in world and if I do I can see if I see the same thing as you do.
  10. The changes to the way lighting work in Second Life means that shoes which use invisiprims to hide the feet will no longer work. If you turn off ALM or Advanced Lighting Model in the viewer preferences your heel will disappear again, but that is only for you. Sadly, there is not a true "fix" for this, those old shoes just will not work anymore. I have not tried, but perhaps an alpha along with the older shoes might help. As for mesh, so long as you use Add and not Wear you can put on multiple items. If you choose Wear it will replace. A lot of mesh uses the hand as the attachment point. If they are going away it sounds like you are using Wear instead of Add.
  11. Thinks do change for sure, but I would not say things are dead. What kinds of places did you like. Maybe we can find some new places. As for relearning the viewer if you are sure you want to keep the old phoenix look and feel then maybe look to third party viewers like singularity or firestorm that keep the look. Feel free to IM me in world if you want.
  12. I have kept a few non-mesh items mostly for layering purposes. I love stuff from Graves so still have a lot from there, but usually pair it with newer mesh. The other non mesh I have is due to wanting some items that went with Mesh body parts (Lolas, PA for example). Everything else is really mesh. My favorite swimwear is mesh. My favorite Latex...mesh. When I see system layer clothing I almost always find flaws and it no longer looks "right" to me. Perhaps above all though is the access to demos with Mesh. Being able to try things on is very important.
  13. Its likely not that her cache is deleting on exit but rather that the zip operation that happens on the inventory cache is not completing. Its possible that the viewer is not truly closing and when she restarts it has to fix those inventory cache files. 2 GB of ram is really light for SL, or anything these days. Its always worth while to reduce inventory size. Would be useful to get more ram. Also would make sense to make sure she is not running other apps, like a web browser at the same time as SL.
  14. Sometimes you need to make some extra adjustments to your shape to get the fit right. I would save a new copy of your shape and play around with the body fat, torso muscle sliders a bit. Sometimes you cannot help but have a small gap between, but it shouldnt be noticable. I wont be on till later this evening, but am happy to help if you want to give me a shout in world.
  15. terraforming along parcel boundries is always a hassle, for those that cannot control both sides. You should have been able to fix it though if you are the regions owner. Sometimes the height of a parcel just gets out of whack after too much up and down. You might need to rebake the terrain on the region to get it flat. Rebaking basically resets the current levels to where they are at that time. As a test you could also adjust the amount by which the terrain can be lowered and try it again. Happy to come take a look if you want.
  16. I will second the suggestion that you look at Fatewear. One of the things that helps with cloths is to learn to layer. Pair of mesh jeans, an open button down mesh shirt and wear that same system tshirt you have and all of the sudden it doent look so bad tucked in. The great thing about dressing in SL is that you can save entire looks. Swap a few bits out and save it again. It sounds like you are spending some good time in world, so dont be afraid to experiment. Also, check out the Mens Dept sale. Lots of nice guy clothing there.
  17. Sometimes gacha makers screw up, I see it a lot from Iconic for some reason. They include something in the package that is no transfer. Sometimes it is a gacha item sometimes a note card or image. On occasion the issue is just a no mod box/objext as well. Regardless, you need to crack open the boxes and either sell the rezzed item or rebox it. I have a folder of gacha items that are no mod/trans that I cannot sell. Another alternative if the issue is no mod is to use a scripted reseller. There are a few around marketplace. If you stop by the Cool Beans yard sale and inspect some of the scripted sellers you will find some of the names. I don't have them with me.
  18. My password has letters and numbers so I know that combo is OK. Sometimes when you copy and paste from a document it takes an extra space at the end, so if you have not make sure you try just typing the password. If that doesn't work then call LL. And make sure you update that email once you get back in.
  19. My suggestion is to find a club or place you like being at, that has people you like. Let the owners know you are interested. Then hang out there. Make friends, especially with the owners. Make sure you have a completed profile, make sure you have found some new clothes (not a default avatar - and at least find some nice modern freebies if you are not buying clothes). Most I. World employeement doesn't pay a lot, so I think it is always better to find a place you like being.
  20. TP issues are often the result of connection issues. It might be on your end or just your ISP or something along the way acting slow. If it persists try restarting your router, testing your bandwidth, dropping the scripts you are wearing in world. If tps result in a real crash and not a log out you may want to look to viewer support for your viewer to help ID the real issue.
  21. Need some more information about platform and viewer to answer for sure. Try pressing ESC multiple times or shift+ESC to reset your camera. There are some known issues camming on objects, especially on OSx. Can also press Ctrl+9 to reset camera zoom.
  22. There are some more inbetween skins as well. You might check some of the skins from Entente or maybe FRUK. They are a bit of a mix of proper muscles and a masculine look over all.
  23. Kinda thinking that shopping for a lawyer on a forum is maybe not the best place to start. Maybe search for lawyers that specialize in online/community type issues. Seems an awfully expensive proposition.
  24. When LL transacts a region transfer it is done in USD not in L$. So when you sell your sim you will have a cash balance in your account. You could then use that cash to buy additional lindens. sean
  25. 1/4 region parcel available for Residential use on a well maintained no loag region. If you love to landscape and make a true home for yourself this is the parcel for you. * Moderate Region * Terraforming rights (within theme) * Parcel Ownership * Near cost Pricing Come take a look! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hyacinth%20Lake/182/197/23
