  1. I agree with the other poster. Go to a non-linden forum. Post the name of the company....best way to let others know.
  2. Oh I dont know, there are still some good sources for newer neko stuff, Two Cats in particular. Magika did the neko set last year. For skins I agree though. I dont know that you can find anything really great for free.
  3. As someone who looks at and buys a lot of landscape items I can say that I generally prefer flowers to be sold singly. I find that I will only want one or two color varieties so scripted change is just wasted resources IMHO. Selling a 3 or 5 pack that was a slight discount on buying them individually might appeal if I liked the product enough. Trees are a little different as are some things like shrubs where seasonal change is nice to have scripted. That isn't needed for flowers though.
  4. !/4 region parcel available for Residential use on a well maintained region. If you love to landscape and make a true home for yourself this is the parcel for you. * Moderate Region * Terraforming rights (within theme) * Parcel Ownership * Near cost Pricing Come take a look! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Hyacinth%20Lake/182/197/23
  5. I run a residential estate. I am considering expanding the region by one or possibly two regions and I am trying to gauge interest from possible renters. In particular I am looking for people who would want 1/4 to 1/2 full regions (3750 or 7500 prims). I am looking for people who are very in to design and landscapaing and want a nice place to live and showcase their talents. I am primarily looking for people who want a place to live, but designing for public view is ok as well. The regions are not commercial so not looking for stores or roleplaying venues etc. The estate is a natural and seasonal region so things would generally be expected to fit in the theme, but otherwise there will be only a light covenant. These 1/4 to 1/2 region parcels would rent at 1.28 per prim on full estates. Paypal is also an option if you want to avoid fees at $75.00 per month for 1/4 regions or $150 per month for 1/2 regions. Either way basically paying cost for these large parcels. If you be interested or have questions please. IM me in world. If there is sufficient interest I will start the process to buy the new regions. Thanks, seanabrady Resident
  6. As real as mesh hands, and mesh feet, and mesh lips and mesh breasts. ) Look up Phat Azz in world.
  7. it is not terribly obvious. I can walk you through in more directly in world sometime. basically, you need to make a copy of your tangos. Then apply the tattoo. Detach them and rez in world. Zoom in with your cam and use the edit linked command to select the layer with the tattoo. Then remove the scripts from that layer. Take the tangos and wear them again. From taht point forward that set of Tangos will have the tattoo. IM me if you need a more complete set of instructions. I have them on a Notecard, but I am not online right now. sean
  8. I have a single residential region i rent out. And I keep it full enough to pay the bill. I don't make any money off of it. Here is how it breaks down. You need to collect about 76,000 L$ per month to make the 295.00 for tier. You get 15,000 prims to sell. if you sell all 15,000 (which can be hard to do) you can sell for about 1.30 per prim. If you sell a more reasonable 13000 prims you could sell in the 1.50 - 1.60 range. I think what makes a good region is first and foremost that you know what you are doing and are responsive to people. Make sure the whole operation looks and feels professional. Next make your region look very, very nice. Make it a special place people can call home. Design it well, and use top quality materials to landscape and decorate. Its hard to compete with the big time estates, but you really do not have to. You can build a following and keep your region full with just a little effort.
  9. Well that settles it. I wasn't sure what I was going to do tonight, but it seems gay furry sex is the best idea. Thanks to the OP for suggesting.
  10. I created to the account, get to the login page with the second, but I dont see the form. I see games in the url (not game) in two places. replacing either doesnt work. Who did you contact about this? I don't see a place to respond too other than reply to the email itself. sean
  11. Getting tools that let you parse email messages are not hard. Another option is to use the save to disk option and ftp software that will automatically upload the pictures in a local folder to your website.
  12. I am in the market for a full region. I want to find a region with a tier date around thr 6th of the month, but that is not a deal breaker. The region will be used as a wooded, seasonal residential community. Empty regions are preferred, but I may be able to work a deal with occupied regions. The region will be flattened, terraformed and reparceled though so that should be kept under advisement. If you have a region to sell please contact me in world with a notecard including the name of the region, tier date and asking price. Thanks Sean
  13. Have you tried using Something other than firestorm, specifically the default viewer from LL? Most of the 3rd Party Viewers are behind on code relating to both voice and SSA at the current time. Might be worth seeing if the same issue occurs on the default viewer.
  14. I had this happen the other day. AO just stopped working. Made a copy, relog, reset scripts, detach nothing foxed it. I rezzed a new copy of the base HUD and moved all anime and the notecaed over to it and it's working fine(custom ao in an oracul HUD). I was trying to repeat it before submitting a jira. I can only guess that the asset got corrupt somehow.
  15. What I wish is that LL would fix the spammers in the forums. I am not in Mumbai and cannot even take advantage of all the hookers etc. Really, its burying threads like this one. : O) I will start my reply by saying I am likely just a "shill", well except that I am not just pretending to be happy I really am quite happy. I have been in SL on this avi since 2010 and overall on and off since 2007. I own a multi region estate, have owned mainland and am a premium subscriber. I read 2 forums and 10 blogs relating to SL each day. I attend in world user group meetings when I can and never miss a video or written review of the meetings when I cannot. I would not say I am well known in world, but I am not a stranger to many people either. In short I think I have a lot of experience and background using SL. I wanted to address a few things that were brought up by the OP and through the thread, from my point of view. 1) Updates: Second Life is constantly being updated. I am not aware of any other game company that allows as much access to changes as does LL. They recently introduced a new method of viewer deployment just to keep up with the sheer number of changes that are occuring. These changes are large things like SSA and smaller things like changes to how HTTP works. Point being, Second Life is updated almos every single week. Take a chance on one of the LL project viewers and try out a new feature. 2) Maintanence: Main grid on Tuesday, RC grid on Wednesday. This is like clock work now. Private region owners often schedule additional restarts. I find though that my need to do this has dropped dramaticlaly over the past year. 3) Upgrades: LL made a large infrastructure investment last year. New hardware and servers in the datacenters. 4) Linden $$: LL does not provide anyone a way to make money in world other than to offer the world itself. Stripping makes people money because other residents are willing to pay. People sell things, because other residents are wiling to buy. I have been paid to help people terraform new regions, and I make money by renting out parcels on my estate. SL is like RL in regard to making money. It takes hard work to do it, you must find the right opportunities and likely it will cost you some RL money to make money in world. I will say that for about 1000L you can equip a new (female - guys are harder) avatar with a modern skin, and a complete original mesh wardrobe (at least 3 or 4 outfits). You just need to shop in the right places. Arcade is one right now, 100L for a top of the line Glam Affair skin? Awesome. 5) Tier: the 1000 setup fee has been covered, no one should be paying this anymore. I am sorry to hear when people do. As for tier, this topic has been covered quite often on New World Notes and some of the other SL blogs. The complexities of how LL makes money, and how closely it is tied to the income from land, make it unikely we will see dramatic shifts in the pricing for land. That said, I maintain a region that is 100% residential and it is nearly always 100 percent rented. People are willing to hold land still, that system is far from dead. If you watch the prices on top mainland land at auction...amazing. 6) vs. MMOs: This has also been covered. I will add though that there have been definite improvements, for me, in how things render. There have also been setbacks. The interest list changes really have not worked well, and we see the side effects in prims that wont rez until you touch them (or go to wireframe) and items that are clearly not high on the interest list rezzing first. If you head over to You Tube and you watch some of the videos from the TPV developer meetings you will hear lots of talk about this. Work is being done to improve the interest list, and mesh download speeds, and the HTTP protocol. Materials and mesh were steps to bring SL closer to par with MMOs in terms of graphic potential...LL is making progress. We as residents have as much to do with perforance in these regards as does LL. 7) Not Fixing the Right Things: The OP made mention a few times of old bugs still unfixed. Granted, there are plenty of those. But I didn't see which specifically you thought needed fixing. Could you post up some of the hot items you think should have been fixed by now? I am pretty happy in how things are coming along in SL. I can build some pretty darn realistic and amazing looking landscapes. My coffee shop gets regular visitors from old friends and new, and I get excited about changes coming soon. I am a shill though...heck I even like CHUI. sean
  16. I would start with a l at Fruk or Entente for male skins, then exile for hair, back to Entente for shoes, and finally Fatewear for clothing. You can grab demos at all.
  17. I agree it is overly broad, but LL has to put this in for protection. By granting them the license to use your content they cannot be sued for copybotting, or other misuse. It can be used as a defense in pretty much any litigation relating to in world use of licensed material. This also keeps them from having to pull inventory because someone gets all pissy and decides they don't want their content used in world anymore. So while they might have trimmed a bit here and there, I don't see how they could remove this.
  18. I offer up my landscape services... :-)
  19. If you have used an older version of Cool and you have more than one current outfits folder you are suffering from the Sun-99 error and you need to contact LL support to get it truly fixed. It might seem to be OK now, but if you still have multiple current outfits folders or ever have the issue will come back. See. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SUN-99?
  20. I am a pretty big fan of the official viewer, though it is not my primary viewer. I adapt to changes quickly though. As a bit of history, when i originally joined SL in 2007 one of the reasons I left was that i found the v1 UI to be confusing. I actually use Catznip as my day to day viewer. I think Firestorm is popular for two reasons. 1. It has a large user base, a lot of history (with Phoenix) and is generally talked up in world. I often go to White Tiger and NCI and many people recommend Firestorm to new people. Sometimes for rather dubious reasons, but it happens often. 2. Firestorm has a HUGE number of features and skins. Things like area serch and RLV are huge draws, and the ability to work in the Phoenix UI is as well. I am not a huge Firestorm fan, but I did use it for a few weeks after the released the SSA version. In the end, I went to Catznip and find it to be a great balance between functioning like the default LL viewer and offering TPV functionality.
  21. I dont know of a check box that allows others to set home to un-owned land. The only way I know to do it is to use a group. Set the land to a group and grant your friend permission in the group to Set home on group owned land. This might not work in a Linden Home though since you cannot deed the land to a group.
  22. The old interface meaning the v1 style interface with the pie menu and such? Regardless, I don't think they will ever go back to that UI, and you now know someone that actually likes the new way. In my opinion the old v1 UI is an example of everything wrong with UI design. Being such a big fan though I am happy to help you sort out the new version. It does sound like a lot of the issues you are seeing relate to your computer or your connection. Reply here or shout in world I am happy to help.
  23. As was mentioned the in world group for Firestorm can help. My question though is have you tried to replicate the issue on the default LL viewer? I see these issues discussed often on the FS group and they almost always seem to come down to a persons connection and settings. In the viewer make sure DD ois something reasonable like 128 or lower depending on your hardware. Don't increase your bandwidth setting. Reboot your router and PC to clear out any junk. Don't use WiFi, test on a wired connection.
