  1. I never regretted to spent money for my well being and never will :smileyhappy: And about keyboards, they never gave up on me so far!
  2. When I started SL late 2006 it was on a Dell I bought somewhere in 2000. System specifications: ABSOLUTE MINIMUM. The monitor however was an absolute maximum. 15 tons to hold a 17" screen. Then after some months I decided to buy me a new computer and went out for a custom top of the bill high end computer. Overnight my SL was changed completely! After about 18 months disaster struck, literally, out of the blue lightning struck somewhere in the neighborhood. It totally destroyed my PC. So next I decided to buy a laptop. Well that was the greatest mistake ever. Not sure what went wrong but at least I was not careful enough, my SL was about just as good as it was on my old Dell, GREY and LAG and a lot of restarts. So I gave the laptop to my daughter and I bought me my first Imac (21"). And now since some months I am on a 27" Imac. (This was pure luxury, I just wanted more and better :smileyvery-happy:). I still use the 21" for my alt on occasions. So, even if I was not a premium, I never ever could tell someone it is free or even cheap to be in SL! :smileyvery-happy:
  3. My first memories are from October 2006, LAG and a awful lot of GREY. What a miserable PC I had back then ahah. I stood there on orientation Island, alone as far as I knew. Then, when I started to walk, I learned I was not alone at all, bumping in to several invisible people (and obstacles). After hours and hours of rubber banding and bumping in to invisible obstacles I found the way out. What a torture it was and what a torture was ahead of me. My first week was a week of grayness and a lot of crushed toes when I arrived somewhere new. Then somewhere in my second week I stumbled in to Dusty's at Peace, how miraculous, right after that Simi was crashed. A totally deserted camping place, a room filled with well paying bean bags. This became my 'home' location for about 2 months. 'Earned' my first 2k there and learned a lot about SL just by hanging around and getting paid for it too. I just have one image left from those first weeks, I had bought me my first clothes. This image was my first profile pic. (note the details of the surrounding LOL). BTW, it was me in the RL way of speaking, the AV on the image 'died' early 2007. Six arrived after that (Skipping orientation island straight in to a skin/shape/hair store.)
  4. Your physics are on steroids it seems " Maybe he was tlalking about this!
  5. If you drag the Chat button to where your task bar is and then click it, the enter text field opens. If you want the whole panel opened then you just have to click the arrow on the right of the text field. Touch again to close it and the text field stays. I love it in fact :smileyhappy: Oh wait..i am on BETA latest release.
  6. Here you can download previous versions http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Release_Notes
  7. I think you are looking for this: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Release_Notes This one is for the Beta releases http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Release_Notes_for_Beta_Versions
  8. As far as I know you only can tell how many people are on 1 sim. Open the World map and place the cursor on the sim. Make sure you have marked the 'People' check box. A hover text will tell you the amount of avatars.
  9. Top Scripts 1.5 ms Stats 4.7 ms Second Life Server 11.10.18.243270
  10. My job was to explore SL. Still not done :smileyvery-happy:
  11. I wonder why you wonder. It is a part of you (or better, a missing part of you LOL) and that is what counts. Weirdness is in the eyes of the beholder.

  13. Well I just send an alt* to check at your sim, and he just told me it was night alright *stuck in a half finished pose so that is where the alt came in :smileyhappy:
  14. I think you can have a disclosure but it does not mean a thing. One is not allowed to use any of it in public. So for all who have a disclosure about IM, you might as well state you are the pope, it means about just the same....NOTHING!!
  15. One simple reason to start with: CHAT LAG Second one: I'm usually building and most of my friends are. When i have a chat with someone he or she is usually at the other end of the grid. And a third reason: IM is personal and private. And since most of my conversations are personal and private i think it's a good match. Then at last: IMO local chat is for the people who do clubs and stuff. On very rare occasions i will go to public events and yes then i tend to use local chat since it is a public place filled with strangers. But I can't really say you can have a conversation in such a crowded place. Probably that is why you see nothing but people yelling and screaming bull**bleep**. .
  16. Well the definition of clutter is very personal as well i suppose. For me Firestorm is the cluttered viewer. If it would even work at all when shadows are enabled. I'd rather be a social networking kid then (in your eyes that is).
  17. Jenni Darkwatch wrote: Color scheme still sucks, but thats personal preference I guess I guess it is:smileywink: The rest I second as well.
  18. Are you so sure about the OS doesn't matter? SInce Lion is not yet supported by LL. So basicly i am using a viewer that is not suitable for my system. I can't help it, the glitch is gone for some weeks now no matter how hard I try, I don't see it anymore.
  19. Well too bad. Glad I did not say it was fixed. But still it is a fact it's not occurring in Beta 3.1.0.243057. What I didn't mention is I am on a Mac running OSX 10.7.2. Guess it is a buggy bug after all.
  20. also @ Dresden ..about this alpha glitch bug thingy. There is no longer such thing if you are on one of the 2 latest beta viewers (yes the offical). I was working on a project that supposed to get advantage of the glitch and after an update it was gone. And now latest beta release it still is gone. The viewer handles transparancy perfectly well. Unless of course if it turns out in next update the bug was just bugged. :smileyhappy:
  21. I used to use them for blocking Trivia stuff, or next door neighbors breedable horses when I was on mainland. In this long list however I just discovered two avatar names. Both annoying people who suck all energy, whining, complaining, begging, unsatisfied. So those are the criteria I suppose.
  22. Read all about it here: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Your-Avatar/How-to-create-a-cool-forum-avatar-badge/m-p/707025
  23. No, not LL. It is Inworldz: http://inworldz.com And there are more like OpenSim: http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Main_Page Viewers are open source so yes they can be similar. I think you can even use one viewer for all virtual worlds (btw a sim is a piece of land within a virtual world).
