I once had this too. I then discovered (how obvious) both Beta as Regular viewer shared the same cache. I created a seperate folder in Library/Caches and in Library/Application Support for the Beta viewer and then reinstalled both. Then fired up both viewers to make sure both followed the right path. Never seen the issue since then.

You can also open the Terminal and type: chflags nohidden ~/Library/ then Library show as normal to hide again: chflags hidden ~/Library

Sometimes the most obvious is overlooked. I had the same at first and it turned out i had to go in Preferences/General tab (viewer 2). Maybe you should check too to make sure. Look for 'I want to access content rating:" (2nd from top). If it is set to "General" then you found it. Change it in to what you want to visit. Note, you can only change this setting when inworld! Edit. I just now noticed you said you even have done the drop down menu. If you are talking about the same as i just did then consider this answer as deleted!

I have a partner who gets grumpy when i spent to much time RL! And as it comes to your relationship, you don't have one IMO. You 2 are just co-existing for reasons only you 2 know. It sounds to me you are beyond the point you want to spent time and efforts in this relationship and try to survive by getting distracted by SL. But are you? She tries to control your SL as well (successfully). You don't listen to music, have your camera pointed to an ( i assume) innocent scene. Not much of a distraction i would say. Dude wake up. Try to figure out ASAP if you really want to continue like this. Regardless the answer to that, do you want to go next step with or without her. Most likely both are unhappy in this situation. You can start bringing this to an end right now!

I think it is odd that when you say "i'm hetero" people are not more then a bit surprised only because the fact you say this, but when you say "i'm transsexual" people don't want to hear and come up with all kind of 'advices' on why you should not!

You can hold some information back and disclose it slowly as you become better acquainted. I really don't see why anyone needs to know you're trans unless you're planning to pixel bonk them. Why would someone not know? What is the difference between knowing someone is straight / gay or transsexual! Or a transsexual lesbian even! There is no relation what so ever between knowing someone's gender and wanting to pixel bonk! Unless of course when this is a secret desire of yours. I started owning land in early 2007. But owning for me was sentenced for life on Mainland. And Mainland turned out to be something fun to explore and then get the 'beep' out of there. So for some years now i started to rent sims with my best (RL) friend. We just moved to a homestead simply because we want to keep things within the reach of our pockets. One major reason to rent a sim is to be assured we don't end up with nice neighbors with 300 ^%^^%%%$$ (not so nice) breedables!

What is the problem anyway? If i read well it was about cartoon characters! Aren't these drawings? And what is young? 4? 16? Compared to my age even 24 is young. I've chosen to live on the country side many years ago, well you've seen the picture. But things are not as they always seem. I live 5 minutes away from a small city, this for all the facilities, could not do without them.

Didn't work for me. When i want to edit my eyes i'll see the back of my head in the edit pane. I'm pretty sure though this is Lion related and not so much viewer related. BTW..i just decided to try 2.8.1 on Lion now and voila, transparent texture issues are vanished! And also are my eyes again! And edit is useless..no matter which pair of eyes i wear they all show the same black&white&grey eye texture. Update: the eyes will show eventually when in appearance mode and the face light is lit. As soon as i go out appearance the eyes turn black again.

It sounds like one of the v2.8.0 and v2.8.1 bugs. It does not go for al transparent textures though. What worked for me was making the prim full bright. What worked even better was downgrading to v2.7.2 until all is fixed. :matte-motes-grin:
