I personally love doubleclick teleport and I use it all the time (my viewer of choice is Kirstens, and it was a favourite feature of mine back in Emerald days too). However I think the FIRST time it's used, there should be a confirmation dialog "Do you want to teleport to this location Y/N?" Then at least a new user will be aware what will happen if he goes around frantically clicking all over the screen. After the first use I guess the dialog could be dropped, as they (should) remember what will happen.

If it's an age verifiation issue then the error message you get is different - it says something about your account type not having access, or something like that. If it says banned it means banned by the Estate owner. That might not be the person you're talking to. You can find the Estate Owners name on the Covenant tab of the About Land info. That is the person you'll need to speak to.

I never had a Facebook account for my avatar so I won't be affected by this. However Linden Lab's pushing of FB annoys me, for the following reason: I have a RL FB account, and the people I add as friends are only RL friends who already know my RL name. Now, if I "like" the SL page, or a SL avatar page, that means everyone else will be able to tie that to my RL name, which I don't want. Under no cuircumstances do I want to share my RL name with anyone who doesn't already know me by that name in RL. Which makes all of Linden Lab's promotion of Facebook contacts totally useless to me. What they SHOULD have done was invested in and properly developed Avatars United.

Well... whatever it was, it seems to have resolved itself. I went AFK to have my dinner, left my avatar logged in. After dinner I went back with the intention of filing a support request with Amaretto... but the problem had resolved itself while I was away. The solution appears to be pasta with plenty of parmesan.

I did that and it detached everything except the horse.

To Add: a couple more things I've tried - Advanced Character Test - failed. I ended up with the default avatar with the horse still attached to Missing String. Detach All detaches everything escept the horse.

I have an attachment - its actually one of my Amaretto Horses, that I was going to ride - but something went wrong when I attached it. According to my inventory it's now attached to "Missing String" instead of Stomach. I can't see it, I can't detach it or do anything else with it. I have tried replacing it with another item worn on stomach, which is where the item *should* have attached. The other item attached and detached fine but the original stayed stuck on "Missing String". I have also tried clearing cache and rebooting. Anyone have any more ideas? CMOQ, if you wear a male shape your avatar will change to male. You don't need to start all over again, you can change your avatar's appearance as much and as often as you wish. There are plenty of shapes in the Library Clothing folders, each folder has a whole avatar - shape, skin, hair, eyes as well as clothing. You can mix and match items from different folders - say you like the skin from one and the hair from another, you can just pick the ones you like best. You can also buy new items or pick them up from freebie places.

The most amazing avatar I have ever seen was a small floating glass jar, like a jamjar, with a tiny (and I mean REALLY tiny) fairy trapped inside.

I was surprised to find myself "honoured" (spelt correctly) as I only had 63 posts on the old forums here. I guess it means having posted more than a certain number that's less than 63...?

I prefer V2 over the old 1.23-style viewers (multiple clothing layers for the win), and so far the only TPV using the V2 interface is Kirsten's. This is my viewer of choice because I get a better framerate with it, but only using an older version (build 37). My graphics card is old and can't handle the newer Kirsten's viewers. I switch to the official V2 occasionally, mainly if I'm mentoring someone who is using the official viewer. I'm not interested in trying out any other TPVs to be honest. I trusted Emerald once and look how that ended up.

Kirsten Lee's version of Viewer 2 (which is on the "approved" list of Third Party Viewers) has the old-style camera controls, with the Orbit and Pan side by side. Those people strugging with the seperate ones might find this version better. http://viewerdirectory.secondlife.com/

I found "Upload Image" hidden in the Advanced menu > Shortcuts, but I can't find the "proper" way. Also I can't find where to upload sounds, animations, or the Bulk Upload feature. Where have they been hidden?

Thanks Ansariel. That horrible green on black is just too difficult for me to read but now I know where it is. I wish there could be different colourschemes for this thing.

This is a question about the blogs interface, not the SL interface, but I couldn't find anywhere else appropriate to put the question. I know I'm half-blind but this is ridiculous. I can't find any kind of Search facility for Second Life Answers, or even the entire blogs as a whole. I also cannot find any information in the FAQ about it. Can someone tell me where it's hiding please?

I know that from the avatar pie menu you can click More then Inspect, and you're supposed to get a list of everything the avatar is wearing. However I'm sure I'm missing a step here, or I have something disabled in preferences somewhere, because the information window never fills up for me. I've tried it with my main and my alts, I've tried it on several different viewers, both official and unofficial. It's been hinted to me that there's a "range" and I have no idea what the range is but I've tried it with avatars that are close enough to be touching. It's never worked for me in the entire year+ I've been on SL. What step am I missing here?
