  1. Good morning! A few more hours and it'll be my favorite half of the week. I hope everyone has a good day.

I'm not sure I believe that you're French anymore though-- isn't a French person owning a Union Jack couch a bit like a Red Sox fan cheering for the Yankees? *dashes off into the snow before you can smack her* She's sitting on the Union Jack -- that explains it. :matte-motes-wink:
  3. Happy Thanksgiving & happy almost-Friday for those who aren't celebrating Thanksgiving today. I've had the big meal & I'm ready for a long nap, but the kids are on their way over to visit. I hope I get my nap before bedtime. :matte-motes-wink:
  4. valerie Inshan wrote: Good morning hugs to all! Ready for Thanksgiving? Greetings! The turkey needn't worry -- he'll get his breast & thigh reductions soon enough. Yum! I'll be ready for Thanksgiving very late tonight (or early in the morning). Sleep deprivation will make tomorrow's after-dinner nap feel so good.

Thanksgiving is coming for you guys, but don't you even think of eating my turkey. It's a French turkey and we don't have any such thing as Thanksgiving in France, so I'm strongly determined to defend that bird! (I'm always suspicious about Maddy's recipes, go figure! ) LOL Val! We won't eat your turkey! Promise! Lovely picture! Hugs! Peace! There's no reason to eat Val's tender turkey... ...you'd be surprised by what I can do with a tough bird. Add some vegetables and you've got a stew. Better collect that cigarette; it'll spoil the flavor.
  6. Madelaine McMasters wrote: Good morning, Hippie, Par and Val! Par, everything I've left out in the weather for the last six years, like my house and barn, have gone to rot. I'd drag it all into SL, but it's too cold outside. Good evening & early morning! Now I know why I shouldn't have spent so much time out in the weather. Gone to rot/gone to pot -- same thing. Perhaps my avatar could age instead of me, but he's pretty old already. Getting comfy by the fire sounds good, btw.
  7. Greetings! I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I was feeling a bit nostalgic so I looked at old SL pictures from 2006. Here's my little cabin as it was 6 years ago and is now. It's changed (I got rid of the top floor & improved the textures, etc.) but some parts remain. It's the one constant on my land -- it's within 32 meters of its original location.
  8. I suggest you check out Virtual Ability. It's a disability support & community group. The people there have wide-ranging interests, so someone might be able to point you to good non-combat roleplaying areas. New Citizens Incorporated (NCI) has people around almost always, including many who are there regularly. Their group chat is active too. I'm sure they'd love to have help.
  9. valerie Inshan wrote: Here goes! Happy Friday to you Hippie, Par and all! Yay! Thank you, Val!
  10. Good morning! Friday at last! (Imagine a drawing of Snoopy doing a happy dance ... I don't have time to add one) Hi ho, it's off to work I go ...
  11. Good morning! Only 3 days of (paid) work left this week. Friday still seems far off.
  12. You can tilt at windmills by trying to get Linden Lab to fix it, or do something practical: - Use Firestorm/Phoenix (or possibly other viewers), right-click on the offending object & go through the menu till you find & click on Derender. In Firestorm, at least, you'll never see it again. - If it's visible from your land, put up something that blocks it. - Get land elsewhere. I suggest you find land on a private estate that has covenants about the content of parcels. The managers are much more responsive to problems than LL is. You can continue to get people to AR the object, but LL doesn't have many people doing in-world police work. It could take a long time before they get around to fixing it.
  13. valerie Inshan wrote: Good morning kids!!! Sending you the cutest story to enlighten your Sunday! Hugs you all! "After the death of a mother chimpanzee who lived in a zoo, one of the employees of the zoo took home a baby chimpanzee to take care of him. It had never crossed her mind that her dog, who had recently given birth, would have adopted the chimpanzee and would have raised him with her puppies." Good evening/morning/day! That monkey's going to have an interesting family tree.
  14. I have a Gigabyte 660 Ti & am quite happy with it.
  15. I'd recommend the GTX 660 (not the Ti - it's over $300) for the $200 - $250 range. That would give you plenty of performance for SL. Here's an article about it: The GeForce GTX 660 Debuts You'd need a 450W or greater power supply for it. The next step down would be the GTX 650 Ti, which is in the $140 - $170 range at Newegg. The recommended power supply is 400W or greater. The 660 is supposed to be a good card. The 650 Ti is new & I haven't heard much about it yet, but I did read it's a solid improvement over the 550 Ti.
  16. Good morning! It's a happy day; the campaign ads have gone away. (Or will fade out soon.)
  17. Ciaran Laval wrote: Yup very disappointing news that the rumours have been confirmed to be true, he was an excellent communicator. Communicating with the residents is apparently a firing offense at LL.
  18. valerie Inshan wrote: Madelaine McMasters wrote: Hi Val, I'm glad you had a big crowd to christen your new home. And I'm sorry I wasn't there to be a part of it. I'll visit soon. Hugs, Maddy I missed you much Maddy, but yes please, do come soon, I saved some muffins for you (with spiders inside them of course! ) Big hugs to you! Good evening/afternoon (& almost Tuesday for Val, if I guessed the time zones right)! Someone suggested at the breakfast that spider-filled muffins sounded like one of Maddy's recipes. Were the muffins made with chicken juice? If not, it couldn't have been Maddy's recipe.
  19. I hope everyone is having a happy Sunday! I've been able to log into SL but not onto the website ... until a few minutes ago. I hope LL has got it fixed for everyone.
  20. valerie Inshan wrote: Happy weekend to you Hippie! And hugs to all of you. Hope to see ya tomorrow. Just sharing an image of pure nature and love today. That picture is so sweet it makes me blubber. :matte-motes-wink: The U.S. is changing time tonight (extra hour of sleep -- yay!), so the interval between the SL time zone and European time zones will return to normal.
  21. Kobuk Farshore wrote: Definitely! Or at least have an open-house day to let people run around thiefing all of your ideas. Is there such a thing as a home-decorating blog for SL? You see fashion ones all over the place, but someone should honestly give clueless people like myself some tips on where to shop. I know of one blog: SL House and Decorating Addict
  22. If you have a good internet connection, the more expensive machine should have no trouble running in ultra mode with everything enabled. The graphics component of the cheaper machine is significantly worse; you'd be able to have shadows but you'd likely have to set SL a notch down from ultra.
  23. Good morning to all! Nice picture, Val. I'm sure you won't mind a couple days away from work. I've got a 3-day weekend, so today is my Friday. Yay!
  24. Good afternoon/evening/morning/night! I've got my power back (obviously) & I haven't seen much damage nearby, so it looks like we got lucky around here. I see from CNN that the people north and east of me weren't so lucky. Keep them in your thoughts, please.
  25. Madelaine McMasters wrote: And now that I know you've got shoe laces, I'll be hard pressed to resist the temptation to tie them together. ;-) I'm surprised -- I'd expect you to set them on fire.
