  1. Okay so IF its an object or something along those lines then....... 1. Detach everything....put things back on....only the stuff you specifically want to wear such as your clothes, ao etc 2. Go into the experiences menu and remove yourself from any experiences you do not recognise 3. Turn off RLV Blah blah blah However, I suspect you may have been teleported home by either the land owner or an admin. You say "x-rated sim" BUT thats only right at this moment. Sims change all the time with places opening up, closing down, moving etc etc. Whilst its an x-rated sim now it could have easily been "The Humorous Adventures of Huggy Bunny and her fabulous friends role-play sim" at one point and if you perhaps visited the land at while it was under different ownership and set your home to there OR was the first place you teleported to after creating your account then that would explain why your teleport defaulted to that location. If you have deduced that your not wearing anything, your not in any experiences, its not an rlv issue....then I really wouldn't panic about it. In fact do this....i'm legit curious. Are you on Firestorm?. If so go to the world menu at the top, look about halfway down for "Teleport Home". Click that and see where you end up. If its not the place you were teleported to then check the other things listed above and that others have mentioned. If thats all clear then forget about it and put it down to a one off.
  2. If thats what shocks you in SL...log out now....what is still to come will break you 😂 Close, if you read the actual section on this they can actually literally go anywhere, sexual stuff or not. The only restriction on them is they are not allowed to engage in it or solicit it other than that they could ride a pogo stick around the worst sims in SL with god knows what going on and still not be breaking TOS. I only know this because of several arguments with bird brain sim owners who think my short avatar equals a child avatar (It doesn't) and believe the rumour mills version of the terms of service. So I ended up looking it up properly out of curiosity and was surprised at how little restriction there actually was.
  3. Not anymore. This one is like super old. I bought it about a year after I started so 2008ish and I don't think its even up for sale anymore. If you hunt around there are some interesting ones that mix flex and mesh for a pretty neat effect. I think Truth hair has a few like that in their discount section.
  4. Iv said it once il say it again...flex hair rocks. Especially if you soften the flexibility of the movement. It may not look as pro as mesh hair but mesh hair never moves like real hair, even when animated its still very limited, and definitely not in tandem with your avatars movements. I have this amazing super long flex hair that reaches right down to my knees and it looks so so so amazing when your walking and its billowing out behind you xD.
  5. Well... 1. "Hi", "Hello", "Mmmmmm", "Brrrrrrrr", "Hot, want some fuk" 2. Gacha, I consider them the biggest rip off a creator can put out for their customers. 3. Selling 50 individual versions of the same thing instead of selling one thing with a texture change hud 4. Mainland hyper priced parcels 5. Creators that can't take constructive criticism and have full on meltdowns over it 6. Prim babies…even the mesh ones look like weird alien waste product 7. Mesh superiority snobs who complain about classic avatars 8. Residents who live and thrive for “da drama” 9. Clothing designers who think that all female avatars want to look a cheap 3am Bangkok hooker after a particularly trying night 10. My little pony sex sims (Yes they exist)
  6. Nothing wrong with classic avatars. I maintain several. I love flex hair, it moves in ways that mesh hair only wishes it could, in tandem with the avatar.
  7. Iv been on it for the last day or so. It's definitely also an SL competitor. It beats Sansar hands down already and besides some missing functionality is on track to be over taking SL and leaving it behind. Idk how you can say it's not a SL competitor. Five minutes into the world and I could tell exactly what it was and what they were doing and how good it will actually be if they keep it up
  8. I was on there earlier. You can create models in say Maya and Blender and import them in much the same way you can in SL. They have semi automated rigging when you import clothing for skin tight items. They have scripting. They are built on the unity engine so the graphics are pretty on point. I haven't tried out too much more but each person who wants to create gets their own free piece of sizeable land. There was definitely more than 30 users when I logged in earlier. I love SL and I will not be leaving but from what I saw earlier....SL has a pretty serious competitor. Its definitely one i'm going to keep an eye on lets put it that way.
  9. Move over second life. They are even using the same slogan on their website "Your world your imagination". They even have scripting.....LL just got a serious competitor. @Oz Linden @Ebbe Linden See, this is why people kept saying "Make SL 2.0". Now you guys have a actual serious competitor that isn't some lagging behind open sim grid and your going with Sansar? The thing is....it isn't declining as much as you think. Compared to its heyday and 2012 sure there are a few less people in world but in terms of the amount of people in world at any one time......its been holding stead for years during peak times around the 40-50k mark and around 20k out of peak. And a lot of the ideas you and others suggest have already been suggested a thousand times over. You also have to take into account the current way in which SL is designed and whether or not a lot of the features people suggest would ACTUALLY work in practicality. Theres a huge difference between thinking "OMGAWWW thats a cool idea lets do that" and the reality of actually implementing it. Look at whats up and coming as features in SL at the minute. We have the wind light project, last names, grid wide experiences and bakes on mesh to name a few and its taking them longer to implement them effectively into the grid due to one issue or another surrounding Second Life's current setup and design. Last names is particularly tricky as it involves a whole entire re work of how names are implemented with multiple multiple places that need to be updated and tested and updated again before they can even think of releasing anything. One small bug in the new name system would cause issues you couldn't even conceive of grid wide. But rather than get so angry and upset that people are not listening to every single new idea put forward take a step back and chill and be happy at the ACTUAL features they are trying to implement to improve the grid user experiences. We just got Animesh...something I have been advocating for for years. We got bento which gave us hind leg bones, wing bones, much needed finger bones and face bones, experiences etc etc. Plus the above mentioned up and coming features. LL are only a small team compared to other "game" (I know I know but its the only comparison I can give) development studios. You can fuss all day about new features but if they are struggling to get the current set of features out on time that WILL actually give us some new features then you gotta be a bit more patient on the ones you THINK will give us new better features.
  10. It would never work. The fact your stripping out lighting alone takes away one of the huge features that mesh offers aka rendering and baking shadows. What you would be left with is a basic ass version of an already daftly laid out program that would serve no other purpose than providing people with what would basically be modelling for morons. Most serious creators would abandon the notion entirely and just set out to learn blender, especially given that avastar is the main blender rigging and animation add-on for SL, and it would further encourage even more crapware to clutter up SL than there already is (take a walk around the mainland) as well as make the download of the viewer substantially bigger than what it currently is. Having said that what would work better if you were to go down that road would just be to enhance prims. Let us move points and edges along with faces. Thats basically what you would get anyway from a watered down blender in the way you describe it only with less effort. To be hones this would probably be easier to implement than your above suggestion. Looking at programs such as Quavimator. It may be basic but I could see that as an extension of the viewer to allow people to make animations on the fly without the need for Avastar. But again, serious developers would all but abandon it in seconds simply for the greater range of features offered and animations they can create just using Blender.
  11. I thought it had already failed. I don't keep TOO up to date with the news as quite honestly I'm sick of hearing about it. But last I did check a week ago there was no deal on the cards?. Can you honestly see us leaving though?. They seem to be doing EVERYTHING to try and stall, back peddle, dig their heels in.
  12. Pfft those bear pokers were unwise, untrained noobs at the game and didn't have several thousand miles and a laptop screen protecting them. Don't throw me in with those old world archaic analogue bear pokers. This is the digital age Klytyna!. Okay its 6.27am I haven't slept yet. I have to ask as your a fellow member of the kingdom of Brexit. Are you of the ilk that is still awake or of the ilk that has recently woken?
  13. Idk....there is a case to be made for both sides of the fence stomping their feet like over grown children complaining about the unfairness of it all and how they wish the world was entirely catered to suiting only them.......I'm just poking fun Klytyna, don't mind me. I'm bored right now and playing "poke the bear". 😜
  14. But, the thing is....you and people like you do THE EXACT SAME THING. Its what makes me laugh about this whole "snowflake" argument. On one side of the fence you have these "snowflakes" complaining about micro aggressions, safe spaces, the attitudes, aggressions and actions of people on the other side, offensiveness, whining, whinging, complaining etc etc. But, interestingly, on the OTHER side you.......have people complaining about the attitudes, aggressions and actions of people on the other side, wanting their own versions of safe spaces away from the snowflake menace, the offensiveness of snowflakes, whining, whinging, complaining etc etc. It seems to me that those on your side are just as big of a set of snowflakes as the snowflakes you seek to complain about. There are literally more similarities between you both than you would ever care to admit to. But you and others on that side of the fence wouldn't ever admit to it because each side is totally oblivious to the fact that what each side accuses the other of......they do themselves......your all snowflakes accept it 😜 By the way im curious, which generation are you?. Would you be the generation that plunged us into debt and recession and spent most of the 80s doing nothing but playing video games, masturbating and whining about the unfairness of the world. Or would you be the generation before that that tended to re write history to inflate your own senses of self importance and gave birth to way to many children and spent a whole decade putting flowers in your hair....whilst complaining about the unfairness of the world [Its all snowflakes]
  15. I don't know why they even did this as Facebook tends to delete users who create accounts under their second life identities. Facebook seems to be under the assumption that we all want our real life identities out there on the web for all to see. Linking Facebook and SL seems assanine given the above issue.
  16. Hmm, weird. It works perfectly for me attached to pelvis. Does not matter where I move to the prim is always pointing at the avatar. Try it again but attach it to the Pelvis, double check the code you entered is the same etc etc
  17. llLookAt(llGetPos() + (TheirPosition + <0.0, 0.0, 1.0> - llGetPos()) / llGetRootRotation(), 3.0, 1.0); Source : http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LlLookAt Second example down on the page
  18. I mostly spend my time developing. I love coding and especially love coding inside of SL. In terms of in world game development for example, you might not have all of the fancy features and functions that other languages, engines, studios may have but the real time development, testing and collaboration that can occur in SL is second to none of anything I have experienced in other projects in other languages or development studios. If they took away the developmental aspects of SL, I would honestly barely be in world except maybe to say hi to the occasional friend. Outside of that I just hang with people.
  19. I guess it is a fad in a way in its current iteration. The comparison of the 3D TV to VR is acceptable given that 3D TV was once in the same position, being super hyped as THE next best thing but then after an initial "OHHHHHH" and "AHHHHHH" failed to take off in any meaningful way and I think it was 20-30% of people who viewed 3D TV experienced some kind of sickness which is comparable to the issue facing VR at the moment. There wasn't exactly a crap ton of stuff for 3D TV, much in the same way that VR...whilst growing in software...doesn't exactly offer all that much once you get past the few initial "OOOHHH" "AHHHHH" titles they showcase. On top of that VR doesn't offer much in the way of value, imo, once you break down just what exactly VR is at this moment in time. Which is a glorified up close monitor with hand held controllers that let you look around and point and interact with things. You can do all this with a normal keyboard, mouse, monitor. The only difference really is a slight change of perspective and experience in how you actually interact but the basic mechanisms are still the same.....monitors, controllers etc etc. Maybe in years to come if VR gets to the point that lets say.....Ready Player One was at with the treadmill type deal for running around etc etc etc then yeah I can see it being a big hit. As it stands, the hardware and overall experience needs to improve a lot before I see it gaining widespread mainstream acceptance. Calling it the evolution of the internet however?. Nah, as it stands AR will probably take that spot over VR as it has more real life application at the moment. I mean which realistically would most people choose in terms of the internet, walking round with VR goggles on browsing the web in a 3D virtual environment...or wearing AR glasses that you can take out with you as you browse, shop, video chat but all projected into the world around you. THAT is probably the only two area in which VR will grow and even then.....most doctors iv heard of are actually using AR technology to perform medical procedures. She never said current iteration she said "We're 30 years into VR headsets and they are still a pain". If you want to go technical VR has its roots in Steroscopic Viewers but the first attempt at VR in a electronic sense was I think back in the 60s with stereoscopic 3D vision and sound and towards the end of that era was when the first Virtual Reality headset was developed which ran very basic computer generated environments. Then from there you have the late 80s early 90s VR arcade machines, Segas VR headset from the 90s, Nintendos Virtual Boy etc etc. VR has been around a long time and realistically what she said is very true, it may have developed graphically with better sensors but the basic concept is still the same....headset, monitors, controllers. To reward us for actually staying?. For supporting Linden Lab for years on end?. For dealing with the lack of care and attention they showed SL for a long period of time before they realised that Project Sansar wasn't going as well as they wanted it to?. To enable us to create bigger and better things and more interesting experiences?. To at least try and stay ahead of the game?. Second Life is Linden Lab's life blood. Without SL there would be no pet project aka Sansar and without SL there would be no more Linden Lab. They HAVE to improve it because the money we put into SL funds them not only for SL but for Project Sansar, their wages, mortgages etc etc. They literally can't abandon SL at the moment even if they wanted to, the company would fold and go out of business. SL is there only real stream of revenue. Of course they are going to improve it.
  20. I challenge you all to make a new profile for yourself but you have to use each and every one of these to do it. "Okay so I don't talk to men buttt if your a woman then I promise I won't bite hard, tho....I don't like being pooped on....but I can provide nudes for a fee of course. But NO permanent mutilation and oh...I don't do drama but if you are into the idea of prim baby twins then I'm totes down" etc etc etc
  21. Yeah I know why it was locked. As regards Scripting Your World (my copy is sat across from me on my book shelf), that book is okay for giving someone a base I guess but at the same time I would question giving it to new scripters these days. Whilst it does contain a lot of useful information some of the coding techniques contained within are now outdated and would just be teaching people that inefficient practices are "How its done". The book needs updating really but I doubt that will ever happen. The best place to learn scripting is in world at The College of Scripting IMO.
  22. Could be interesting to have a list of projects up on the wiki in the tutorial section that novices could attempt and then once completed would leave them with a deeper understanding than they would usually have of LSL and its application in world. Would help give them a solid foundation. Not a tutorial per say, more a series of briefs. Its a shame they locked up the wiki and only let the elite few alter it.
  23. I exceed those stats. By miles for the desktop requirements. Even if your experience loads quicker than most it still doesnt change the fact that Sansar is currently a pretty looking world of vanity projects. I was really hoping when they announced a new world all those years ago that we were getting something truly awesome with features that blew SL out of the water and here we are 5+ years later and we got?. Hopefully it will improve in the distant future but if this is all it does after five years then im not holding my breath.
