Someone inevitably comes along (often the same someone, over and over) and jumps to the same conclusion over and over that the only possible reason a person will not accept experiences is due to an unjustified fear of being hurt by them. Hint: For some people it hasn't got anything to do with fear of being hurt by them. Sometimes the only reason people don't want to accept experiences is because they just prefer not to let others control what happens with their avatar in so far it is possible to limit that within SL. That's it, nothing more. Some people even have full knowledge of what is/is not capable with the system. They still aren't going to accept them and that's a valid choice no matter what others may think about that. It seems to me though this isn't about a failure/unwillingness to understand but more about belittling the choices of other people, especially given the phrasing often used.

Not sure what to say except I'm not doing a qualitative comparison like you might be doing to ensure your viewer is doing what you expect but everything I've seen while using the FS alpha was perfectly acceptable though I'm not claiming it was exactly as it was either but there wasn't a single thing that stood out as obviously bad to me. YMMV and for differing values of "bad".

You cannot revoke or block an LL experience and that is what I meant by stealth experience.

I've been playing extensively with the Firestorm PBR alpha since it was made available and I like PBR very much. I'm not using this as my daily driver version of FS due to the various issues such as the environment being too dark unless HDR is turned off but once these issues are sorted FS PBR will be great. I'm not seeing any performances issues with it. Originally, I did have concerns that existing content would look bad but that hasn't been the case thankfully. I just hope that content creators will actually embrace this and use it well.

I've shared my feelings on this a few times before so I'll be relatively brief. I don't accept experiences except where I am forced to by LL and then I generally avoid those regions once I become aware of those stealth experiences which cannot be revoked (very poor form in my opinion). My reasons are about giving up control of my avatar to the whims of another whom I haven't met and therefore have no established trust with. If the experience is necessary, I don't mind being sent home though obviously places that allow me to wander anyway are very much appreciated. I don't mind (and have never minded) popups asking for my permission to do things when I interact with objects in the way that some find inconvenient, in fact I like that I get to choose on a case by case basis when I choose to interact with something and not at any other time. That said, these days I do use collision-based experience teleporters for portals on my own lands. These are for private use only though and are set to only allow my partner and I access. These portals don't offer the experience to others and wont teleport them should they search and join the experience manually. Of course, we both can always trust that I will not abuse the experience and so there are no issues with us using them. In addition, I don't enable anyone else's experiences on my lands.

I'd just like to point out that I'd already said this quite a while before you responded to one of my earlier posts: And yet you chose to respond to the derail. I'm not even the person who mentioned BoM and Appliers originally. This is my last word on that matter in this topic.

No, this was about whether appliers are still very much alive or dead which clearly they are alive. My reading is just fine thanks.

The appeal is there for those who want flat regular shaped land that is "double-prim" without enforced buildings, with lots of Linden easements and not too many sea-view blocking builds. Once upon a time prices were such that it was worth paying for but not anymore or very rarely at least. I've owned parcels there for many years and so I can speak from what I found/find appealing.

You are off all on your own with this pointlessness. My posts have been very clear on this. The only statement I have been making is about the expressed sentiments and predictions of the death of appliers by some people. Anyway, I'm going to let this get back on topic. I suggest you do the same.

No it really isn't. That's a real reach on a false equivalence. Oh and there were quite a few predicting it as I recall.

Nevertheless, the vast majority of the EvoX marketplace is made up of HD appliers. This can be observed at events and sales everywhere.

One type of applier not being used anymore hasn't brought about the death of appliers as a whole as predicted and so has no real bearing on anything.

All the EvoX heads significantly rely on appliers for makeups, eyebrows, features, etc very few people are making BoM for those. Most of these appliers were developed for heads after BoM was introduced. On the body you still need appliers for asymmetrical tattoos because even though those are possible with BoM, nobody uses it. Materials appliers are still used for heads and bodies. If bodies don't support appliers then they also don't have these features. So yeah, the death of appliers *crickets*

The main thing I remember when BoM was being worked on were all the people who were predicting that it would be the end of appliers and look how that worked out. I think it's safe to say the main takeaway about future speculation is that all sides of a position are bad at it, nobody has any real wisdom or insights as to what will actually happen.

These massive overreactions to some very harmless and innocuous statements are exactly why people form the impression that there is a culture amongst creators and their fans of being far too sensitive about people who dare to question or criticise anything a creator does. Had a good laugh about how creators have thick skins though.

I'm sure it surprises nobody when I say that I've decided to stay exclusively with Lara v5.3. If I'd wanted to change bodies, I would have done so long before now. The fact that this body is free makes no difference to me one way or another just as if I'd have wanted to change to another vendor's body the high cost of the body purchase wouldn't have deterred me one bit. The true cost comes from the supporting purchases over the years anyway. The body purchase is just a drop in the ocean by comparison. I've never had any issues with the way Lara looks and have been completely satisfied from day one. It was and still is a fantastic body in my opinion. The aesthetic of LaraX however doesn't appeal to me at all and is not a look I would choose given a choice. I've already said goodbye to a bunch of creators who've announced that they'll no longer be making new releases for Lara. It's a shame and I understand why they make this choice but I don't want to spend at places who don't want to support the body I wish to use. I've said before now and still maintain that I would rather stop shopping for clothes and accessories altogether should it come to that. I've already got more outfit options than I could ever exhaust and shopping for more is really just an indulgence at this point. I'm am happy for the people who do like it and who got everything they hoped for and I do wish Maitreya and the clothing/accessory creators well for the future regardless.

Irony: People trashing TPVs and the people using them who then profess to be using TPVs themselves. Priceless.

I think that there are probably a lot of back-end issues that affect our accounts in subtle ways only some of us become aware of that get quietly fixed later. In some cases these bugs also leave behind broken states/status that has to be fixed manually. Some things cannot even be fixed, my aforementioned alt has two "Calling Cards" system folders and support claim it cannot be fixed so there is only one - no reason why given, it just cannot. It seems like such a simple thing and yet...
