I have enjoyued many of the sims in sl.There are some places that really stand out for me.Some places by the beauty of the design and creativity, some because of the welcoming atmosphere and friendly employees. These are the venues that become my picks.I am not a rich person and I hope in some small way my show of support for what I consider a job very well done will help these sims be successful for a long time to come. And yes,my choices are mine just as yours are your own,not everyone will agree.

I have respect for any sim I visit.I cause no problem for anyone, anywhere I go.I am an adult and I do visit adult themed venues.I visit lots of places actually and I spend money out of my rl pocket in a lot of stores.I also am one of the nicest people you will meet.

I stumbled into a sim yesterday, ended up there by accident.I opened my search window to redirect myself.I noticed on the chat window someone was asking me if Iwas an escort. The area had not rezzed,I couldn't see who was talking to me,I answered no,was told that because of my picks I had to be one,and what was I doing there. Then this owner or manager,I am assuming also commented that I was an escort cus my **bleep** bounce and then made fun of my profile, how could I be shy and an escort. And I do understand about looking out for the best interests of your spot, after all it is yours. But,I honestly did not mean any harm,I was just lost.

I did tell her that she was very opinionated and should not draw conclusions about people and I got the heck out of there.I really do not think I deserved to be treated this way. There should be a list for last picks, this spot would get my vote.

Now I am super paranoid that my body is bouncing in a sleazy way and I really am not the upbeat person that I usually am in world.

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this.

I looked at your profile...if I would have to make any assumptions I would think you liked to go to clubs and maybe worked as a stripper/dancer. Escorts usually have in their profile that they are one, so people would know how to contact them for their rates. It wouldn't surprise me if the club was empty besides you and the other person because if the staff could say something like that to a stranger, they must not have many patrons.

Don't let idiots influence how you live your SL.

Of everything I have learned in SL and about the virtual world is the ability to be myself no matter who or what others think.  Im not that way in RL and tend to be somewhat reserved, even on the shy side which is uncommon for an attorney.

SL lets me be who I want, dress in ways that fit my mood and more important, risk the opinion of others by being who I want to be.  There are a couple out there who seem to have a bad opinion of me and I really don't care since I know who I am and what I am.

In the end, get thicker skin which is easy to do in SL. As you said yourself, you just Http/get out and poof! All is good except the emotional bad taste it left you with.

I know your last name and when it came up on the grid which tells me you are definitely not a noob just perhaps over sensitive. If you body is bouncing in a sleazy way, go for it, be sexy and be yourself.

Hello junique:)

Like you posted, you visit many sims, and just at this one place someone told you that your *** bounces and because of your pictures you must be an escort? So what? They are not your friends, friends of your friends or someone important. Just some people that you probably will never see:) and I guess never visit their sim.

Life goes on, get used to it, it will happen again and you'll get over it in a second. SL is full of people from all over the world and noone says we all need to think or act same.

And, there's nothing wrong in being an escort. Someone needs to do play that role too lol

Forget what happened and enjoy exploring SL;)

Thank you for the responses.I don't plan to change anything about me,I kind of like me.I think I was surprised and completely knocked off guard more than anything.Cross my fingers, but most of my experiences have been positive. It takes all kinds to make a world and life goes on.I also believe that what comes around goes around. But hey,a wonderful day to everyone.

You do not indicate which viewer you use.  If you use Firestorm, check out this page.  At the bottom, it provides several alternative settings to the physics.  Try one or more out until you find settings that suit you.

ETA:  Of course, it is your choice how you wish to appear.  If you are comfortable, leave it at that.  I suggest this only because you seemed to question your jiggles.

Venus I use the newest version of the sl viewer. To me everything looks fine, but maybe to somebody else with a different viewer I do  look floppy.I would never know.No one has ever commented to me before this incident or laughed at me so I am assuming either ppl are polite or I don't have a problem.I have the physics set to the lowest level because I want a natural look to my movement.I also researched problems and fixes before I started using the physics layer.

Really what it comes down to is I can not let ppl bother me,not everyone is going to be kind, makes me more thankful for the wonderful ones I meet.

Thank you very much and I hope I have answered your question.

OP, chalk it up to "I met a jerk, they exist in SL too," and don't go back there.

Next time someone is offensive, mute them and teleport away.

It does feel worse the first time you run into someone who hits a nerve, but, eventually, it's a matter of self protection. You will find it quicker and easier with practice.

For what it's worth, I find their comments asinine.

As everyone has said, this woman was being rude and presumptive, and you have no need to take notice.

Concerning your jiggling, that is set by THEIR settings, not yours.  Let me make this clear, since several posters above seem to have it wrong.

The "physics" settings in your browser affect what YOU see.  They affect how everyone you see looks on YOUR screen.  They do not affect in any way how others see you on their screens.

So, anyone who comments on your jiggling is either joking or ignorant, because it is they who control what they see, not you.

welcome back Lear, seems you missed a development while you were away...

LL added physics wearables that a person can attach giving them "jiggly bits" that are under the control of the person wearing them, and visible to others.

while it's possible that OP was using these, it's certainly not a statement on what they do in SL any more than blue pants means someone is in the navy (and if they weren't using them it might've been a glitch or just some idiots). either way, nothing to sweat over, just roll your eyes and ignore them.

What sucks is that people will judge you by your appearance and by what is written in your profile.

I haven't seen your appearance so I cannot tell you my opinion of it.  But I have seen your profile, and if I was to be so preoccupied with someone that I felt I would need to judge them on their profile alone, I'm sorry to say so, but I would think that you are an escort.

I don't care whether you are or not... but if you don't want people to look at your profile and automatically think you're a whore, then change it... how simple is that?

I'm sorry Lear but like to correct your idea. Actually it is you having the wrong idea how the body physics work now. :smileytongue: What you describe is how the jiggling worked earlier in some TPV viewers. The settings were voyer controlled not wearer controlled. Which pissed me off as I had no control how others saw MY body parts jiggling.

When Linden Lab implemented body physics, they did the right thing and they made it wearer conrolled. So I set my physics in certain way and then everybody will be see exactly how I have set my body parts to jiggle. I will also see how others have set their body parts to move. I can disable my body parts to jiggle and then nobody can see them jiggle. This is how it works now, which is very excellent thing.

PS.

Lag can play havoc with the physics. If fps drop somewhere below 15 fps the jiggling can go crazy. :smileysurprised:

@Coby:
To be fair, the TPV developers designed body physics the only way they reasonable could... they do not have access to server code so could not have implemented it the way LL did by creating an new wearable. In further defense of the TPV developers, their design also did not require everyone else to patch their code to prevent graphics errors which erased the affected body parts, nor did they force it on for all viewers (although I think there's a debug setting you can use to force it off)

Yeah I understand that. Kudos to TPVs what they did earlier.

Anyway, now as Linden Lab has done the right thing, all viewers use the new wearer controlled physics. The voyer controlled jiggling is thing of the past. Just like in real life, where we use our bras to control the jiggling. Now we can do the same in SL with physics layer.
