Don't you regularly post nude photos in the adult section?

Not regularly, no.  Nudity is not pornography.  Pornographic pictures are NOT allowed in the Adult section.

This thread begs do differ. It got me to explore a bit again. It you're stuck in a p*rn rut, there is actually much more.

Porn is popular. Do I search on SL Marketplace and sort by best selling. The best selling item is female genitalia for L$1,999 for eBody, Reborn, Legacy Maitreya, Kupra and Peach with 212 reviews. Although few want to admit it, porn is what has kept SL alive.

Yep, it sure is. However you want to define that. There's also so much more.

There might be but often people have to work through the attraction to p*** first. After they tire of it they may move on to one of the other things SL offers, or not.

But it doesn't compete with porn.  Wasn't that the initial question?  What does SL compete with?

If SL closed tomorrow, I sure wouldn't be switching over to watching porn.  That's just silly.

SL is in its own little niche for me, so if it were to suddenly vanish I would probably search for something that hits that same vague feeling. Most likely play an old and almost forgotten MMO to emulate the mainland wandering I do. A lot of people are saying Discord for the socializing aspect but it feels like Discord and SL work concurrently and don't exactly compete.

No, there not might be. There is. Otherwise you certainly have a point.

Yes, but Roboblox doesn't allow porn. That's the main obstacle holding it back from achieving profitability.

I agree.

But even if it did, who would want to do it with lego ppl?

SL is the opposite of what I normally feel while playing in regular video games. Like going skiing or snowboarding in an snowy resort and going back to a warm cabin. You don't go back to a frozen cabin.  All the things that are good in SL are not good in a game and vice versa. SL competes in the land of gaming by not competing.

Well not that I would, but they are attempting to add options for updated Roblox avatars. They just look like NFTs... and I have seen big booba roblox avatars

This is prime MEME material.

I would look at the whole page rather than a single item, if I was using that as a determining factor as to what has kept SL alive. Which I wouldn't. I've seen that top spot change from multiple times over time, but the whole page pretty much stays the same as far as over all page.. The top spot changes like the wind..

The texture that is two spots down is only from a week or so ago.. What is in the top spot now hasn't been there that long.

I would say that item is popular because Avatar Creation is popular and curvy bodies are on a trend ride the last few years.

Before SL my biggest computer time sink used to be MMO's but i gave them up because i mostly used the MMO to socialise on and it wasn't really designed for that..

This was me as well. I loved playing cooperative games like mmorpgs with other players. Loved being in guilds or having grinding buddies. I tried these things in offline games and it's just not the same. I've spent 2000+ hours in a single online game before leaving them, but in single player I'm usually done by 100-300 or even less now days.

The stress of having to "work" to achieve goals in videogames puts me off now days. I don't wanna work more than I already do in RL, so I come to SL instead, where I can just relax and socialize and be creative. It does compete with videogames for me. If  SL died, I'd go back to mmorpgs, even though I would regret it.
