I just use the standard from my country to closest to where LL is. Last time I checked tracert the bottleneck was in Spain. Love, love the country by all means, but give me my SL

I have to reboot my router say... once a year?
The main hub is about 100 metres from my workstation console.
Make a router reboot number 2 on your troubleshooting list.
It doesn't take too long to do.

I have never before had to reboot my router (Verizon gigabit router/modem, if it matters) to resolve symptoms such as I had today. (Other issues, such as a service outage, sure.) This particular router is a replacement; we recently exchanged an identical item because of other issues. So I'm a bit concerned that the new device would exhibit this sort of unreliability.

I don't think I've ever HAD to reboot my router,

I just do it anyways when I reboot my computer, just because  I'm used to rebooting everything when i start things up or reboot my system.. It's just habit..

I never had to reboot it that I can think of because of problems..

Rebooting my router and modem is always a heart in mouth moment. It seems to take several minutes before anything works again. Several minutes of stone cold terror wondering if it's going to kick back in or if Ive killed everything forever.

Could be the router or could be a degrading in-home or external line to the isp resulting in more errors and packet dropping. Also could be dependent on what other users on the connection are doing. As an example since returning to Opensimulator, I restarted a 15 region grid on my home network for myself and partner. Since then I am starting to see apparent random logouts of the viewer. Before blaming the router and modem. I'll check the ISP connection for both speed and errors, then see what my aged mother is doing on her end (bopping the Beethoven, streaming health videos and zooming her sisters) to see if maybe I need to use the QoS settings in the router to prioritize my! stuff. If that doesn't resolve it, I might have to upgrade by buying a better router with more memory to prevent memory overflows.

Providers don't care about your service but they do care about receiving your money so if you can turn off your router all day while you go do something else i imagine every effort is made to reboot it from afar . Forced health check 😉

I have had this issue on and off for about 2 years now, I think. It seems to be ISP-dependent. I got a VPN to bypass the issue, and so far it has worked.
