*Supremely precise & cunning plan to introduce vaugely SL related RL topic......
Abandoned....😐😏😁

Compared to the SL mesh one...what do you think of the (not as good) RL project? 🙂

What I don't understand is, if they can do this...can scientists also make lions or tigers that won't attack humans? I bet selling "safe wild animals" would be a business worth billions...

I wasn't aware the mesh one IN SL existed actually... duuuuh me. 🙄
If there was a breedable or cute baby one that didn't mature and chomp pixels I would deffo get one!!!

I don't think they've thought it out that much yet.
Reports say they have found a host animal for the itty bitty tiger.
Not a word about altering natural behaviours or anything remotely similar.

It was humans that caused the Tasmanian Tiger's extinction not that long ago, so I think they should try to bring it back. If this works, it would remain in captivity.

Saving species on the verge of extinction is a different matter, involving saving their environment too. Doing one thing doesn't prevent us from doing the other.

That's what I was wondering! If it was a genuine version, it would be wild wouldn't it? Unless they remake it as a pet.

I think it would be the genetic twin of one of the last ones that died in captivity, unless they need to replace some gene bits from a related animal. The closest would be other marsupials.

The surrogate mother would likely be another marsupial.

It would be no more wild than other animals born in captivity.

Tasmania - 2022
Gene manipulators are seeking to "re-engineer" the extinct Thylacine, (Tasmanian Tiger).
Is this a good idea? A RL Frankenlacine?
Will we ever see one in Second Life? 🙄🤔

I'm sure they'll make great pets! Maybe they can help control the suburban coyote populations. What could go wrong?

Just to relieve Love's mind...

I was joking about Puddles. I don't have a Poodle, and the dogs I do have are not missing. I have a pair of Shiloh Shepherds, and if they encountered a Tasmanian Tiger, he'd be the one missing.

You rascal! "Puddles" did seem a suspicious name for a Poodle. But, people in my area actual lose dogs to coyotes, urban / suburban Florida.
