Garnet Psaltery
I'm reading H.G. Wells' short stories, currently looking at 'A Dream of Armageddon', which is rather less fun than 'The New Accelerator'. That story was expanded and presented to charming effect in a tv in-series called 'The Infinite Worlds of H.H. Wells'.
Rat Luv
Just finished this...brilliant book! 🔥 Another new author to me, Saki was really called Hector Hugh Munro and was a UK Edwardian writer. It's really funny and all the characters are so devious and scheming, but the ending really floored me too...I wasn't expecting it and teared up a bit. Would recommend! 1
Rolig Loon
Saki's stories were often like that. He was basically a satirist, making fun of all sorts of societal customs of his day, so a lot of his plots had endings that were counterintuitive. My dad, for whatever quirky reason, loved them. I remember reading them myself when I was young.
