tinaplick
I have a RL top very much like the one in this picture. Actually, mine is orange, but it looks similar. The key thing is the transparancy between the parts of the laceCan this can be made in SL? If so, how? Does it require mesh, or can it be done with mesh. If there is one for sale, I would be interested, but I would like to make one (or several similar ones) myself if I knew how.Tina image from belk.com, Rafaella Lace Fashion Knit Top
Lewis Luminos
A mesh top that is partially see-through is kind of problematic because you can't wear an alpha layer under the see-through part, so it will be difficult to get it to fit right. This would work best with system layer clothing. Actually it would perhaps be better in two parts; a system layer top for the lacy part and a mesh shirt over the top. Not quite the same as the RL version which has the lace on top, but probably close enough. That said, here's one that does it in mesh: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Swanky-Pink-laced-top-mesh/4124496
Drake1 Nightfire
i might be able to make that in mesh.. I would use a mesh tank top underneath and a mesh lace tee over it.. I will work on it today and post my results..
Sassy Romano
Yes it can be made and there see various options available to address issues around alpha layers. I have a mesh lace dress very much like that and it has no alpha layer at all. Was there another question?

Drake1 Nightfire
So, this is my first attempt at it.. Single mesh shirt with alpha parts and an alpha layer.. but that could be my shape.
Sassy Romano
Not really no. In extreme poses yes but for pretty much all normal poses I can adjust the mesh to allow enough room and weight accordingly.
Dillon Levenque
Just to throw in my two cent's worth: I really like seeing all the lace-over-shirt things that women are wearing these days (in RL). I think it's a great idea. But I think that tee would look way sexier with long sleeves. Just as covered, and just as modest. But sexier.

RobertThorp
Dillon, I agree. Just as an example, this picture (the one in white, of course) looks very sexy! :matte-motes-big-grin-evil: Bob

Sassy Romano
"Adjust" as in when making it. There are certain areas of deformation that are more problematic than others so I just make sure there's enough wiggle room and weighting to cover the sensible stuff. Drake1 Nightfire
Gotcha.. If i could make more than a cube in Blender... I use mesh templates.. I do the best with what i have. Thankfully there are some fitted mesh that work better than others. take

After 2 days of impersonating a deer in the headlights, it will get easier. My dress is specifically for my shape so yes, not too much of a problem and no alpha needed. Marybeth Cooperstone
Sassy, That looks very nice. One of the disadvantages of system is that a dress has to be made of a separate top and skirt, not one single piece. Can you wear a slip underneath it? Very much yes, system clothing still has a very important place as far as i'm concerned, particularly for lingerie
