  1. The ones that I've gotten to come in were interested in the art instillations to start with. For instance, Bryn Oh does post You Tube intros to her work. Those intrigued a few to log in. We set the them up with basics then they went to the installation. They loved the interactive nature of it. One or two still come in when there's a new release.
  2. Prok owns the land he is talking about. I own a parcel on the mainland where I have my store. It's set to rez only for certain categories within my store group. No entry from outside my parcel. 1 minute auto return. I've not had any problems with griefing on my parcel. However, there is a sandbox on the adjoining sim and there was a player who had their land next to me open for people to rez stuff. I get leakage from the particle stuff from those when a griefer has struck there. LL has had it cleaned up in about 48 hours at the most. You used to get griefers using abandoned land but LL has the autoreturn set on those at 5 minutes. The most pernicious one is a newer tool that we had to have LL help us with in the RP sim I'm an admin in. It used temp rez scripts so the autoreturn couldn't deal with it. https://gyazo.com/66e4c23473a41404ef2c9b71d4f4db08
  3. If you are used to using the defaul avi feet that you usually set to 0, the mesh feet will seem too big at first, even though they are actually more proportional. It was weird for me at first, but you'll get used to it. A size zero would be like a size 5 US shoe on a 6 foot woman...not realistic at all. The size 0 on feet was there because when shoes were built from prims, shoes were often built large then shrunk down to as small as they could go. That fit a size 0 foot. Once upon a time, I took a class on how to build shoes and they had us build them large then make them as small as the sliders would let us. Now, with mesh, feet can be more realistic. You can use the feet that came with your body or Slink feet. Most shoe makers make shoes for the Maitreya feet, so you won't have a problem finding them. You can use Maitreya skin appliers or you can use Omega appliers with the appropriate kits.
  4. Actually, Prok, we're back to using the tools available if you had a group that all stuff has to be rezzed in for your properties, you could then set the land so only things rezzed in the group would be able to be rezzed. Or you could set it so anyone could rez but anything that isn't rezzed in the group gets returned within 1 minute. Both would deal with your griefer problem as they either couldn't rez or it would be returned within 1 minute. Also set your land so nothing can enter from outside your sims. So. your griefer problem is one you could solve yourself with the tools availabe rather than depending on LL to take care of it for you.
  5. Personally, I'd box up the box after I opened it. Put it in a box labled clothing. You can do the same thing for buildings and skins. Yes you can get a redelivery as long as the designer is still in SL and has their drop box out. If they leave, you can't get a redelivery.
  6. The ones I have mentioned SL to, first thing I've heard from them is "isn't that the place you can have sex?" since those were the aspects that the press has emphasized. I told them that sex was actually a very small part of SL and went on to tell them about the building, the interactive art that is done by people like Bryn Oh, the cosplay you can do for just about anything you want and it cost you a lot less than in R, etc. Seemed to work with some since they came and played some.
  7. I have the same problem periodically. They just did some maintenance so it may have gotten corrupted. Remove the payment method then add it back. That should fix the problem.
  8. Place them in a box by outfit then put the boxes in a box called clothing. You might change your mind and get one of the other bodies down the road. Bright Corp has a script that, as long as the items are copiable, you can wear the box and get anything that's in it out without having to rez it out. Then you can delete that box if you like. I made the mistake of deleting sizes I didn't think I'd need that now I do with the mesh bodies. It was a pain to get them all back. I wish now that I'd just boxed them up for just in case.
  9. I like to RP so I have alts for different sims. Especially important since my main is an admin in an RP sim and it would look like I was poaching if I went to another sim on her. Each has their own clothing and style, though there is some cross over just because the clothing is too good not to. It also helps make it easier for inventory purposes. It also makes it easier to slip into character with a different avi because of the difference of appearance and wardrobe.
  10. I've found that LL responds rather quickly to griefing reports. I have one neighbor that has a sandbox that griefing stuff gets dropped fairly regularly. I have another that has their land open for rezzing. I've sent AR's on both and they were cleaned up within about 24 hours. I'm an admin on an RP sim and we've had regular problems with griefing since we have to keep the build option on for bullet rezzing, for instance. We had one that was really bad that we couldn't get rid of everything without LL help because of the way the item was scripted. They were there within a few hours. So those reports do get responded to.
  11. You'll have to use one of the programs, like Qvinamator or Daz 3D that you can load the new Bento skeleton into then do them manually and upload them. The other, more popular and more expensive, way is motion capture, aka MoCap. There is a hud you can buy called Fate Hand poser where you can create hand poses and save them that might be useful as well.
  12. I had the same thing happen after I'd spent an hour or so tweaking my shape for a Bento head. It didn't save properly and got corrupted. There's no way to get it back so you'll have delete the one showing that name in your inventor and then redo that shape. I lost that work and had to start over. I was using Firestorm, by the way, so it's something with SL rather than my viewer. If it happened in the last week, you may have done it when they were doing maintenance. I suspect that's what happened with mine.
  13. If you are having no problems with an alt, it's not your connection. What Viewer are you using? If you are using Firestorm, try installing the standard SL viewer and try logging in with that one. If you have no problems, you may have a corrupt avi file with Firestorm. In that case, do a clean install of your Firestorm. If you are having problems logging in with the SL viewer, you'll need to do a support ticket since then, it may be a corrupt file on the SL servers that they need to fix.
  14. Start at the Mesh Body Addicts website at http://meshbodyaddicts.com/ They have the mesh providers listed as well at tutorials reviewing the parts and how to use them. You can also check Omega Solutions at http://slpoweredbyomega.com/supported-meshes/ since you do want whateve you buy to be Omega compatible. Omega is a "universal" applier system that makes finding skins, makeup and clothing to fit you body much easier. For Bento heads, getting your avi to look good takes some work. Use the shape they include as a starting point and go from there.
  15. One other thing. Last I checked, the minimum they will accept for L buy is $5 USD total. So you could buy $4.60 and will be charged $5 USD total. That may be a problem as well.
  16. Try changing your LOD to 4. That's a problem with the hud rezzing. Changing the LOD usually fixes it. I'm not having problems with either the old or the updated Belleza, Slink, Maitreya or Tonic huds, so it's not the huds themselves.
  17. The Realms are a good place to start. Creating works but you have to have the L to upload your work, so you are back to the Realms. For clothes, check out The Free Dove and the Fabulously Free blog for suggestions. If you can get a few L together, you can get some really nice skins as group gifts from Lumae. Good luck.
  18. There are a number of different heads that support the Omega system. Catwa static and Bento, Lelutka Bento, LOGO, LAQ, AK to name a few. there's a list here http://slpoweredbyomega.com/supported-meshes/ . Omega is just a "universal" applier system for the layers on the mesh bodies and heads. Omega doesn't make heads.
  19. You can still get system stockings. they look like socks in your inventory. I make applier clothing and always include the system layers. You'll have to look though. Most are making appliers for mesh bodies rather than creating for system bodies.
  20. Chat lag has nothing to do with the land. The chat logs are maintained on the players' computers. You can, on your personal computer, clear chat cache and that can sometimes help. You can also look and see where your chat logs are kept if you have your preferences set to save local chat and empty that folder out. Group chat has become a problem because it is used for something it wasn't originally designed for. Groups were originally designed to manage land, not serve as customer service/chat for stores. LL did help when they changed it so that any group with over 5K members no longer shows the members list but it can still be bad. It's been worse the last few days with the maintenance and rolling restarts.
  21. 3 words....Demo, demo, demo. Try them together and find what you like.
  22. If you can wait, I'd also suggest you wait until next month. The annual Skin Fair happens in March so might be worth getting one to get by for now and save your money for the fair.
  23. Make sure that you are using either an Omega or a Catwa applier. If you are using one of the others for a different head, it's not going to work. Also, basic I know, be sure you are in a script enabled area.
  24. What she said. Catwa requires a relay to use Omega appliers. You can purchase them through the MP or at the Omega Solutions store.
  25. Labrynth, Lure, looks like Nivarro may have some. I did a search on the MP using Omega head male and got a lot of returns.
