  1. The free TMP body is very, very limited. You have no alphas and you can't change the skin other than what's in the Style Hud. It's basically a demo version. I'd actually suggest you look at other bodies as the TMP is no deal. Try Tonic, Belleza, Slink or Maitreya. They are much more versatile and easier to use. Remember, you get what you pay for.
  2. You could set your user name as Blyke25 or whatever but then set your DISPLAY name as Blyke. Problem solved.
  3. First, how did you manage to get into the sim since most sims are set to a max of 40 players in a sim? Try the Destination guide or look on your dashboard at secondlife.com. Towards the bottom there is a section called upcoming events. Check out the Live Music and Nightlife/entertainment. One of my favorites is Big Daddy's 80's club. They always have a live DJ and are busy. The people there like to talk.
  4. Actually, it sounds like you chose Best Buy (limit buy), the right column, rather than Instant Buy (Market Buy), the left column. You won't get your Lindens until some is willing to sell for what you are offering. Depending on the amount, you could never get the Lindens. Best bet, if you did choose Best Buy, is to cancel the order. Your cash will go under you US dollar balance. You can then go into the Instant buy, the one on the left of the page, not the right. The money will be taken from you US balance.
  5. Mesh is an attachment. Since you wear an alpha when you wear mesh, you only see the mesh, not the default avi. Also, if you wear the shape from another avi, it may use a deformer. A deformer can stretch the avi out far beyond what you can achieve with the sliders. There is a line of werewolf avis that the default avi is really stretched out to the point you could wear it that way and dress up as Slenderman. It can also fold up you default avi to very small. You should see my alt I use a petite with when I take it off before I use the undeformer script to get her back to normal size or relog.
  6. Keep an eye on the blog posts. LL does periodically offer a special for premium members.
  7. As stated in the same post under Avatars. Mesh Body Addicts blog has a list with the features and prices. Read the answers to your previous posts before you post again.
  8. There are many tutorial availabe on You Tube. Photoshop costs $9.95 a month to subscribe. Maya runs $185 a month. Blender is free and is adequate for many uses. I would suggest, before you charge in, taking some basic building classes from Builder's Brewery and Happy Hippo so you get an idea of what you're getting into. BB periodically offers an intro to Blender and does offer some very basic Maya classes as well and those are free.
  9. Some of my alts were just for fun...when we had last names, you could get quite witty. I've seen Peppermint and Pepperment Twist, Sufferingfrom Lockjaw, Amniotic and Scrotal Sac (though those were deleted fairly quickly), Widget Engineer, Sinfuldelight Fiul, just to name a few. One girl has the first name of her avi the same as her RL name but in bianary, though it's missing the last 10.
  10. Caspervend has an easy to use system. Check that one out.
  11. The best you can probably do is the free ones in the library. There is a dragon and a couple of werewolves. If you want more than that, you'll have to pony up and pay for it. The good creators aren't going to give their hard work for free, nor should they be expected to.
  12. Mesh heads are a lot of work and you aren't going to find one for free. The best you might be able to do is find one something like you want in a gacha. But I doubt you'll find what you're looking for there either. As a side note, why should a creator offer their hard work for free?
  13. One additional point. If it's a private sandbox, find out who the owner is and report them to the owner. Go to land, about and you can see who the owner is. Send them a notecard with the names of the griefers and what they are doing. The owner can ban them very easily and most will.
  14. Depending on what viewer you use, there should be a menu on the opening page to chose the grid. You can choose the SL beta grid. There, you get some money to test upload. If you have even the demo of the Belleza, you should be able to test it. You can get the system layer develper kit, which is what tats are, or use the Omega applier kit. Either one will work since Belleza uses the SLUV map. You can hit the beta grid then upload the texture and actually just make a system tat layer on your avi to see how it looks. I'd get the kits then wait a day or two since the inventory in the beta grid is usually a day or two behind your regular grid inventory if you are wanting to test with the kit. At least on the default avi, you can get an idea of the placement.
  15. For the developer kit, depends on if you meet the criteria the creator has set. As for testing, use the beta grid. It won't cost you anything to upload and test your mesh. You do have some hoops you'll have to jump through first before you can upload mesh.
  16. a few caveats though. If you are renting and don't own, you may not be able to set a landing point. You'll have to talk to your landlord if that's the case.
  17. I've not used Alchemy but Black Dragon also has the same lower camera setting. I copied the numbers and then put them in the debug settings. I wrote them down on a notecard for my future reference. The default camera angle, courtesy of the SL viewer, is the reason why we have such tall avis and 10 meter walls. The camera angle causes the avi to appear forshortened and walls have to be taller and rooms larger to accomodate the camera angle. Edited to add that these are the settings I use: Go to Debug Settings CameraOffsetRearView X: -2.5 Y: 0.1 Z: -0.4 FocusOffsetRearView X: 0.225 Y: 0.275 Z: 0.400
  18. All that notice means is that someone near you has their threshold set below what your avi is. The default, on FS for instance, is 80K. Some players have no idea what it is and how to change it. Don't worry about it and enjoy your SL. Their loss, not yours.
  19. The Hentai Fair is going on until Jan 28, so you might check there for some basic stuff. A lot has some sexual connotations, but hair and skin are a good bet. Skin fair is also coming up in March.
  20. You can learn to build. There are numerous roleplay sims for anything you might want to do. Star Trek, Star Wars, Medieval, Game of Thrones, Western, 20's Berlin, Post apocalyptic, several different varieties of Gor, sim based on Anita Blake/Merry Gentry books. Just abount anything you could want.
  21. Check Truth, Analog Dog and no_match...one of them should have what you want.
  22. Contact the maker and ask what jacket they used in the ad. That's usually the easiest way.
  23. You have Limited, which is sponsored by Depraved Nation. That event has only a specific number, usually under 200, that will be sold. If that total number aren't sold at the event, the creator can sell them at their store until that number is gone. Luxebox has exclusive items that those items are only available in that box. The designer can make another coloring of the item, like a hair, but the set in the box will only ever be available to those that bought the box. There is also Midnight Maniacs that the first Sat of each month they have boards that only 1000 items are available on. They also have a limited number of last chance available the next day for 250L. After that, they're gone.
