  1. Last I heard the mesh deformer is being held up by a really silly design decision of the avatar, read it here forth post down. My Christmas wish is for mainland to be cleaned up and made a place where we again feel like building a nice home in a nice neighborhood to enjoy a nice view

Actual that's Mr. MnM when he found out that while in a green mood he got Miss MnM knocked up, and now he's got to give up his playboy lifestyle and figure out how to support a package of MnM minis.
  3. If you are in edit on the object (right click on the object then select "Edit") then Reset Scripts should be available in the Build->Scripts menu.
  4. The battle axe I tried a while back worked by attaching a copy of itself to my back and another to my hand, one or the other would be set invisible depending if the axe was "drawn" or "sheathed". When I entered into chat something like "/9 draw" the axe on my back would be set invisible and the one in my hand set visible, and the other way when I entered "/9 sheath". My guess is yours works similarly, just need to find out the commands and the channel you need to send those commands to. With mine the creator forgot to give me the instructions and when I highlighted transparents I saw a bunch of battle axes laying around the sandbox. Don't care what anyone says, things can be so much more fun without reading the instructions :smileylol:
  5. I haven't trashed any of my premium gifts, but they definitely haven't seen any use since the first day I got them. If I recall correctly the first of these gifts was a furniture set created by the merchant The Loft, and the Lindens received considerable flack for giving a merchant free exposure. After that I'm not surprised if they are not seeking out those more experienced in creating these particular items.
  6. Here's a link to some excellent tutorials I used back when I attempted to learn sculpties (link here) It's my hope you check out these tutorials AND check out mesh and realize what a royal pain in the a!! sculpties are. :smileylol:

Could also nail them on "Business use of any kind is prohibited" if they are breading them to sell. File an AR to give yourself a sense of getting back at them, but don't expect any action on the AR in this life time. covenant applies to the outside of the house. What you do with the interior is up to you, there's no rule requiring you to put Japanese furniture in the Japanese style houses, rustic Americana in the Tahoe houses, etc. If there were, 99% of Linden Homes would I think be in violation of the covenant, starting with every one except the modern ones that has a television... I see no distinction in the covenant between inside and outside of the houses, and though I'm sure the Lindens don't give a flip about tastes in furniture I'm willing to bet that in composing this covenant they wanted to prevent such extremes as livestock in the living room. Now admittedly if the person had bothered to cover the windows somehow to prevent the inside from being viewable from outside then this wouldn't be an issue. But I've seen numerous examples of people not caring about how a place is meant to be used and not caring what an eye sore it is to everyone else, that's where the "File an AR to give yourself a sense of getting back at them" part of my statement came from. And from the amount of examples of this I've seen came the part "but don't expect any action on the AR in this life time."

  9. Try these two, Adrianvon Ziegler and Nox Arcana
  10. The cars I've purchased from Haru seem pretty slow in first gear, it's not until I've shifted up to third that I feel like I'm doing at least jogging speed. You can set them to "economy mode" which removes all nonessential scripts. And though I still have bad moments (like when the car would do a hard right into the ditch no matter what I did) overall these cars have worked well for me. A few things I do when mainland cruising that I think may help. Turning off my AO. Trying to time my key presses so that at the sim crossings my hands are off the controls and I'm just coasting across. And once I've successfully made it onto the next sim wait for everything to rez before continuing.
  11. The cloudy halo effect seems to be a common problem when turning everything unwanted transparent. I've always cut what I wanted out of the image and then pasted that onto a new transparent layer, so far it has worked for me. Hope this helps. Just as a side issue and heads up, just because you found an image on the internet doesn't mean it's license free. Before trying to sell this tattoo you may want to make sure.
  12. Just scanned the tutorial you gave the link to and I'm not finding .dae, collada, or mesh anywhere in there. I think you are just confusing yourself with concepts you picked up somewhere else. From the contents of the tutorial I feel it is safe to say you need to save your creation as a 2D texture like .png or .tga or .jpg and proceed just as Dilbert said. Collada, .dae, and mesh are 3D modeling terms that do not apply to what is being done in the tutorial.
  13. A bit confused on what you are trying to create. If it is an avatar skin you are creating then you want to save it as a 2D texture like .tga (Targa) or .png (several other options, but from what I've read these are the better two). A really brief explanation of avatar skins here (click here) If it is a mesh you are creating then a .dae (collada) file is what you want, but if I understand correctly Photoshop can reference collada files (for the purpose of creating textures on it) but it can not export collada files. Found the info here (click here)
  14. Being that all the Tahoe and Meadowbrook homes I have seen are mostly of box prims you should be able to drastically cut down the land impact with convex hull. I haven't paid much attention to the other two themes of homes. And since the max prim size has increased there are several prims in those homes that can be combined. Another problem is the parcel configuration, I don't think any of the Tahoe or Meadowbrook houses will fit on the 16m x 32m 512 sq.m parcels you commonly find on mainland or estates. So if you are going for an exact copy of one of those homes you'll probably have to do it on a bigger parcel.
  15. It is supposedly possible, here's a link to a discussion about it click here. It is the ninth message when everyone beats the OP over the head enough that they finally give up the details. The summary is you export the sculpty as an xml file and hack it to gene splice a torus into it then import it back. A lot of hassle just to be stubbornly anti-mesh.
  16. My body is still at work, but my mind left for the weekend hours ago :smileylol:
  17. My guess would be they are fresh meat new employees just hired and not yet fully processed. Just did a search on Baker and Caleb Linden, Baker now has the SL logo while I guess Caleb still hasn't earned his.
  18. I recall the run on portable power generators, and how in a "oh sh*t" moment the stores hastily issued a new policy "no returns on power generators after Dec".
  19. If I am understanding you correctly you rezzed and large cube on top of the house and then moved yourself (teleported?) inside of it. If so the cube would be considered to be solid and the physics engine will try to push you out of it, shortest path being down. The part about being unable to texture interior surfaces, that's because if you didn't hollow the cube there are no interior surfaces. You could hollow the cube, that'll give you four walls with interior surfaces you can texture and an open space the physics engine will not try to push you out of. As I recall the interior of a hollowed cube is considered to be a single continuous surface so textures may seem stretched out until you multiply the horizontal repeats by 4. For texturing you can get the exact textures the Lindens used when creating your house. While at your home open the map and look for the info hub marker (an 'i' in a blue circle) and teleport there, then go to the larger structure and there you should find a kiosk where you can "buy" (for 0 lindens) the textures for that area. You can do this you all four theme areas. What may really help is spending and evening or ten at The Ivory Tower of Prims, follow this link. Lots of tutorials that'll help you better understand how to build with prims. There are plenty other places like this in SL, this is just my favorite one. A note about any advise to give up the Linden Home and take you 512 free tier to mainland or private estates. With the Linden Home you get the house PLUS 117 prims, any where else and everything counts against your prim allowance including the house.

  21. Never married or done the SL relationship thing, course being in SL just two years that doesn't mean much. Never watched Grey's Anatomy, and there are many other TV shows I'll never watch. Takes too much time away from SL And I've never figured out who is the master in my relationship with my cat.
  22. Maybe your OS has Ctrl-Alt-T mapped to something else? Try selecting Highlight Transparent through the menus (Advanced->Highlighting and Visibility->Highlight Transparent) From what I'm seeing in the directory structure it looks like to me Firestorm and V3 are completely independent, settings in one shouldn't effect the other. I'm sure someone will correct me on that. If that's not it I'd try going to Graphics in the Preferences menus and moving the Render Quality slider all the way left to Low to shut off all the extras. Then try Highlight Transparent though the menus and if it works re-enable things one by one till you find what's messing it up. Good luck ETA: May want to try a post in Technology -> Second Life Viewer where those more knowledgeable in the V3 viewer are.
  23. If you deeded the land to a group you may have to look in the group's profile, under a tab called land or something.
  24. Once when I was about to abandoned land I first tried setting its price at 0.1$L/sq.m and a land bot snatched it up within an hour.
