  1. Great roadside parcel, flat, 1024 sq.m square in shape. Only asking L$3000. Have enjoyed it for over a year but moving on to a new space. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/November/201/219/84
  2. Flat and reasonably regular shape, easy to build on. Developing branch of SL Railroad and abandoned parcel bordering two sides (best neighbor is no neighbor ). http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Xanthorhoe/100/83/47
  3. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Gibbosa/77/230/33 Roadside parcel in beautiful area on the Heterocera Atoll continent. Has view of the Linden Ocean and is protected on three sides by Linden Road, SL Route 5, and a Linden waterway. Tier can be covered by 2048 tier level + 512 from premium membership + 10% group bonus.
  4. @Mercury Like all trends all we can do is laugh at it and endure, and hope that what comes along to replace it isn't quite so bad.
  5. I'd say this is an example of someone with too much time on their hands :smileylol:
  6. Though not mainland, and not RP specific, I recommend the Linden Wilderness area at Leech (link here)
  7. Too bad that topics gone idle for a while can't be auto-locked, if a new comer feels strongly enough about a topic they could open up a new one without being an accidental necroposter. But since the forum admins can't even stop the almost daily Mumbai escort spam storms .... /me shrugs
  8. Another option is to price the land so low a land baron's bot snatches it up. Being that the lowest I'm seeing in search right now is 0.56 L$/sqm I'd start at 0.5 L$/sqm, wait a while then drop it down to 0.4, then 0.3 and so on till one bites. It's a mystery to me how these bots know but once the price gets low enough it happens pretty quick. You wouldn't get much but at least you'd get something, and it'd be one less abandoned piece of land that may never make it to market again.
  9. Would you prefer Marilyn Manson? "In the end we're all Jerry Springer Show guests, really, we just haven't been on the show." In the end we're all Jerry Springer Show guests, really, we just haven't been on the show. Read more at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/m/marilyn_manson.html#sv2mwHFryP2UyPM6.99
  10. What usually works for me is copying the web address out of the box that pops up and pasting it into my external web browser, like Internet Explorer.
  11. For me it was the intermediate step to computer 3D modeling made available with prims. Had lots of fun stacking and torturing prims, it's like Legos on steroids, and have gradually ventured into 3D modeling apps. If before SL I had taken a look at something like Blender my mind would have gone poof. As far as debunking the more common and uninformed opinions of SL I gave up long ago, when I tried explaining to friends and family and whoever what SL really is I just got that look. So now when declining some RL thing they try to drag me off to I just tell them I'd rather do internet porn.

I've probably lost more tooth enamel (from biting down hard) because of that song than all the plaque ever known. Absolutely makes my skin crawl. I won't put a link here because even with my headphones sitting on the desk some of the song might escape while I'm saving the link. My neighbor would sing the refrain while waving to her son as he got on the bus for the first day of school each autumn. There is a time and a place for everything? Reminds me of this commercial About the only time I can hear a Christmas tune and laugh instead of gritting my teeth and yelling out "CRAP!"
  13. This was a huge deciding factor back when I was looking at land on private estates. At several a rep lingered around till I got annoyed and left, and a couple make it impossible to get land price info except through a rep. The estate I eventually settled on was the one that didn't pester me at all, and it was obvious they put far more effort into developing the estate then roping in customers.

If you buy Linden's that are traced to fradulent activity, LL will take them back, and you are out your purchase price. This makes the "deal" less appealing. From the various reports I've read I think it's more the case of them taking your RL money but not delivering the goods.
  15. Yea, I'm really sure he's going to stay dead. Recall the episode when Stewie finally killed Lois. And the number of times Peter has been with Death.
  16. Also you could check the LI (land impact) of the items you have on your land, such as your car. Some creators are sloppy and lazy and put out vehicles with land impacts in the hundreds, I've seen plenty of really nice cars with LI below 50, some even down in the low 20. Same could be true with other items on your land, that nice looking table may be sucking up a surprising amount of your LI allowance.

  18. Had to make a service call yesterday and as I looked at the paper work today I noticed the arrival date and time of 11/11 11:00 AM. If I had realized it at the time I would have sat in the car another 11 minutes before going in to make it 11/11 11:11 AM. May have stumbled into some cosmic powers, more likely for me I would have just gone *poof* from existence. Hey, *I* thought it was cool.

  20. Long ago I turned this off because it was just additional noise on the screen, then I set my viewer to not broadcast my lookat to avoid dramas from egomaniacs. "Pfft I wasn't looking at your big butt, I was looking at the sales board behind your big butt."
  21. My most recent annual renewal was $72. Haven't been very impressed with most of the premium member gifts, typically their Land Impacts have been way too high. Occasionally I dig the plane out of inventory when I feel like flying around. The sailboat I had fun with but got tired of the wind just abruptly changing and having to wiggle around to find it again, is that normal for sailing in SL? Despite that I've had five (yes 5) annual premium accounts for a while now, have a pretty nice 2816 sq.m. parcel with the tier and group bonuses, and if I had been cashing out all the stipends as I had originally planned I figure the whole thing would cost just a couple bucks a month.
  22. In some ways I miss them. Watching them manage to miss the bridge on a fairly straight road and fall into the ditch behind my home where they floundered around for quite a while, transforming back and forth from a truck/car to a boat and back again. It seemed even odds whether they'd pop back up to the road and go on their way or try to follow the water way and get stuck in the neighbor's ban lines. Rapidly clicking on the tanks and trojan horses collecting missile shots causing a huge smoke cloud. After getting pushed down the road a ways by one going into edit on my vehicle and dragging myself around to block it and try to force it off the road. I marveled at the huge pile ups of these vehicles I found and often sent the creator notecards about them. Sometimes I'd hop into them to see if I could wake them up, most times they'd just get stuck again a short time after. But I definitely do NOT want to see them back. May have been a good idea but I'm seeing other driverless vehicles accomplishing pretty much the same thing with a lot less drama.

If LL would give a half a year's worth of stay for free in a Linden Home for non-premium residents, that would be a very awesome gift I'll ever receive for my three years stay in SL. I know it's not free but an annual premium isn't far off. $86.40 per annum of which you are refunded about $62.40 which means that you get your Linden home for just $2 monthly. Just renewed an annual premium account for $72.00, but maybe your figure included a tax? A big draw back of premium accounts is that at the end if you don't renew and forget to downgrade to basic before it expires, they lock the account and the only way to get it unlocked is to renew the premium for the same length of time it was before. At least this is what I've seen cried about in several threads.
  24. Sad news, at least for me. The privately owned but open to public West Atoll Railroad closes the 31 of this month (click here for confirmation) It runs from Burns to Elpenor and was just completed June 5, crosses about a dozen sims and is connected to the main railroad. I've spent quite a bit of time watching him build this and traveling it. It'll be another big chunk of mainland gone empty.
  25. A better approach to this would be to ask people in world, not many people in SL actually use these forums and there are a number of people in the forums that rarely go in world anymore. You could put the survey in your profile as a Pick then refer to in your Biography, then as you visit the more crowded active spots the profile pervs will notice it and some may give you a response.
