  1. Randall Ahren wrote:. @Clarissa, I didn't know you were a furry. I'm not! I was wearing a quadroped avatar in those pix. A quadroped is a realistic animal and it's more in the tiny camp of avatar if anything. The roleplay is typically good natured and silly. A furry avatar is a hybrid human and animal avatar and stands on two legs. They sometimes but not always are related to the real life furry scene. There may or may not be X rated stuff associated with it also. Quads don't get into the X rated stuffs. I have some dogs, cats and dinosaurs that I right click to change into once I am done making a new shape. When I'm between making shapes I wear the quadroped avatar sometimes because I am sick of looking at my shape thinking "should I tweak this" or "should I tweak that." So it kind of clears my mind for a while. (It's also necessary to remove the newly made shape so I can put it in the prim in my shop.) It's also a lot quicker to wear an animal av, than picking hair, eyes, skin, shape, clothes, shoes and AO for a human. I right click on the animal av and poof I'm set. So, I'm not a furry... The other thing is I'm kind of sick of my old human av at the moment but not sure how I wanna look next...so until I decide I avoid the topic by wearing quad avs. But thanks for the comment.
  2. How did the other person get it if it was meant for you?
  3. Your neighbor is breaking TOS. Whatever she thinks of your stuff she can't just plop stuff on your land. I heard there is a new ability that you can click on someone else's prim and return it even if the root prim is on their land. Try that. Either way click the item and choose REPORT and choose prim encroachment or object encroachment and report them. They're the ones giving SL land a bad name not you.
  4. Yes there is more than one device I've tried most. I've tried a pool ladder that lets you click and swim. But the best one is still the free gypsy swim ball. If you want me to I will send you one next time I log in becaues it's a freebie.
  5. The urge to help someone is always good but is not always followed by thanks as you have now discovered.
  6. Are those Exodi avatars still free at all? Last I looked they were part of the normal shop. That FabFree listing is old. Those were great while they lasted, though. Heaven's Gate Neo has free group member skins and shapes and more. They are in search. The style is sort of Japanime in the facial features but the shapes and skins are well done. I offer free shapes for various types of avatars. I just added two new ones. The shop is in my picks or search for Free Shapes by Clarissa. That's all I have free there but, each one comes with a style card with links to more freebies to finish out the avatar. Shop around and have fun.

I snuck in to see Uggie. Just a glimpse, he's the real star. But the anti canine factions in the Academy will never nominate a four legged actor! I climbed up here for a better view. Well a nice lady said "Hello little doggy, do you want to be on camera too?" So I got ON the camera. Oh, Uggie. The things I do for you. May the best actor win.
  8. No surveys in the forums plz. What kind of university rewards someone polling people in a message board? What kind of scientific sampling can possibly be set up? At least Gallup polls don't pretend to be accurate.
  9. The best trails were in Zindra before anyone moved in there. That was some good riding! I dressed up as Lady Godiva and galloped all over the grid! I...can't seem to find my old account at flickr but I posted lots of the pix there at the time. (wait who needs flickr? here.) PS I have on a thong in 1st pic. Censor bar in 2nd one lol.

Jo Yardley wrote: I like the break out idea, you know someone in a tiny apartment somewhere in a busy smelly noisy city.... entering Second Life and then meeting a friend who also lives in a small apartment somewhere and they both have a nice walk over the fields of some virtual paradise. You just described my Second Life. But, as a chihuahua, I now also poop in some of those gardens.
  11. How about the two women who were texting during the standing ovation for Glen Campbell, at the Grammys? How much of a text addict does someone have to be, to sit there completely bored and pickle faced during the Grammys? And what's so urgent it couldn't wait til the commercials? Yeah, as I sit here at my computer listening to itunes and about to log in to a virtual world, I have to agree that people live way too much in their technology today!
  12. Haven't noticed lag but have noticed scripts misbehaving, and teleport problems sometimes.
  13. There should be a report illegal content button on every page of Marketplace. I was looking for LEGAL cheap or free skins once, and I lost count of how many illegal 1L or 10L skins I saw. I don't remember what I did to be honest. But it was shocking. I don't think that is the way LL intends things to be.
  14. Ry0ta Exonar wrote: If you really want to buy a shape first, try demo shapes with a solid color skin (no shading, no eyes, no lips and such) so that you can truly examine only its shape aspect. I would not recommend that - first, it isn't necessary since the mesh will always have certain issues, and a good skin will always mitigate those. Second, it will look horrible on 99 percent of the shapes, which won't be the case when the skin is on. I guess I said the same thing twice. Lol
  15. I'd begin with an idea in mind of what you want to look like. You will probably adapt it along the way. Most people's avatars don't seem to change in huge ways though, even over some years. I can't think of one who's gone from one type to a totally different one. Isn't that funny? It's an avatar, we can look like anything, but we usually look pretty much the same as before. Although I'm currently a chihuahua. (Sorry about the mess on the patio, cartel hangout! I'm still working on house training.) So just look around until you see something that you like. I would begin with a shape since it will give you a basic type to work from or towards. Then try on skins and tweak until you like the end result. Make sure any shape you get is modifyable. Then you can change it in small ways if the face on the skin you like doesn't quite fit it. For skins I go with what is on sale usually. Or free. Al Vulo has a free skin each month and those are always nice. But some skins will dictate what type of face you can have. They just won't look good on other kinds. Try on a demo if you are buying a skin. The hair and clothes just round out the image.

  18. Wasn't talking about her, but the multiple companies in SL who do that for profit, and take one movie they bought, and sell the stream to as many customers as possible... And then deny service to any of those customers who dares to show it even for a large group of friends. IRONY ALERT.
  19. JeanneAnne wrote: Peggy Paperdoll wrote: Remember that when you need support and can't seem to get any. Just saying. I don't need any "support" Peggy. SL either works for me or it doesn't. If it does I have fun. If it doesn't I move on to something else. What's up with the likes of you who take a game so seriously? I really don't understand this .. It reeks of ... obsession.. or something, to me. Don't you have a real life? Jeanne That seems a little mean. You never seemed like a mean person to me. So, people who play SL and take the investment of their time or money seriously don't have a real life?
  20. Marketplace could use improvements. It crashed on Valentine's Day. When I try to find something I get pages of junk.
  21. What is with all the questionnaires and surveys in the forums, lately? I consider them a form of spam.
  22. It doesn't matter if you change your avatar as long as you know where the stuff is you can put it back on. Make sure you go to edit/appearance and save your shape before you put a new shape on. That's good to know anyway. I doubt you will want to look exactly the same the rest of your SL life. If you want to be the other av all the time (and not change back and forth) make a new account.
