[RESOLVED] Unscheduled System Maintenance Posted by Status Desk on April 16th, 2014 at 08:33 pm PDT [Resolved 8:33 PM PDT, 16 April 2014]The unscheduled system maintenance has been completed. [postED 7:00 PM PDT, 16 April 2014] We are currently undergoing unscheduled system maintenance. During this time, some residents may be logged off and will be temporarily unable to log in, or experience inventory loading issues. This maintenance may also disrupt transactions. Please refrain from transacting with L$ or rezzing valuable (no-copy) items until the all-clear is given. Please check back here for updates. You people act as if you've never been around when there was system maintenance being done.
  2. I have quite a collection of kilts in my inventory... Some men can rock a skirt, btw. :smileytongue:

    Problemi land

In answer to your edit: francy Lytton wrote: The land was put up for sale by the group to a specific person (francy Lytton). But the group was deleted by mistake before transazione.E 'for sale, but he does not buy, this is the problem, thanks How is that? The only way for a group to disband completely is to have less than two members and have 48 hours elapse.
  4. Landbots are no longer allowed, as per Linden Lab Official:Bot policy (http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Inworld_policy_on_bots#Policy). This section should be removed (from http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Selling-and-renting-land-to-others/ta-p/700135#Section_.1.1): "Some Residents use scripted agents, or "landbots," which can detect land at below-market prices the moment it appears in search, teleport to the spot and buy the land faster than any human can. While landbots are legal in Second Life and provide a valuable service for Residents who wish to sell land quickly, ..."

    Problemi land

Except that now "Using bots to purchase Mainland parcels is not allowed The use of bots, autonomous software, scripting (manual or automated), scripted agents, or any systems or software internal or external to the Second Life service that circumvent, automate and/or remove the human interaction required to purchase a Land parcel within Second Life on the Linden Lab owned Mainland is prohibited." http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Inworld_policy_on_bots#Policy @francy: You could try explaining to whoever bought the land (and to me it's not clear that this is what happened, but seems the likeliest scenario) that you made a mistake and ask if they will sell/give it back to you. If they refuse, and if they did in fact use a bot, I would AR them on that basis and see if LL can/will sort it out.

  7. The level of all "void" water (that is, the water outside of your sim) is 20m. That will not change if you make your sim's water deeper, leaving a noticeable vertical "gap".
  8. That's a very recent development... Surprised it lasted as long as it did. :smileyvery-happy:
  9. emmaleeheart wrote: Did you know that 70% of ALL "family" related RP DO involve incest of some sort? *ponders the percentage of statistics that are completely made up* True also. Oh, now I'm thoroughly convinced!
  10. I don't think it's so much LL sharing information with LinkedIn as it is LinkedIn using as much information as it possibly can from as many sources as it can find in order to suggest "connections" to you. I deleted my own LinkedIn account not too long ago because of this. From the start, it was fishy. I believe they somehow accessed (without my consent) the contact list of the email I used to register the account with, although LinkedIn says they do not do that. That I was almost willing to let go, but when I started receiving "Network Updates" showing people that I hadn't had any contact with in fifteen and in one case thirty years... That was enough for me. Goodbye, LinkedIn.
  11. You have to buy the biowaste, or catch it while fishing. Any further questions, refer to the website. (Google it. I won't link it here. I prefer not to give any traffic to those SPAMmers.)
  12. Tracking your friends You can track your friends' location inworld if they have chosen to allow it. Click the My Friends Online dropdown and choose the friend you want to find. The avatar's location appears on your map as a red destination marker. To allow a friend to see your location on the map: Open your friend's profile Click on the gear icon. Click Permissions. Select the See me on the map checkbox. Tip: It is possible to teleport directly to your friend's location by pressing the Teleport button. However, it is good etiquette to respect your friends' privacy by IMing first. Teleporting to another Resident's location unannounced is considered very impolite! http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/World-Map-and-Mini-Map/ta-p/700163#Section_.1.2.2
  13. Ray Caerntown wrote: The fact our renters are TE enthusiasts is incidental and besides the point. Perhaps not. Consider this scenario: Your TE-enthusiast tenants stay logged in for hours at a time. This helps to keep your traffic above 5000, as you say. Then your TE-enthusiast tenants are notified via their TE HUDs that the "Mysterious Trader" is on the way. They log on a couple of their TE alts to take advantage. Perhaps they have a few TE-enthusiast friends over when the notice comes. So they log in a few of their TE alts. All of these avatars on your parcel are of course going to drive the traffic number up. As for why the number is so low the next day? Maybe your tenants decided to give their TE alts a day off? In any case, it's not a big mystery and is certainly not ticket-worthy.
  14. So someone jumped in and started a game while you were standing in front of it? That might be something that the game owner would care about, but LL does not.
  15. Well, gee, I always click Yes when some site that I visit tells me that I need to update a plugin... :smileyfrustrated:
  16. If your account was banned, you should have received an email which would have included instructions on how to file an appeal. Submitting an appeal Linden Lab takes violations of the Second Life Terms of Service and Community Standards very seriously. The decision to apply a suspension or permanent closure for your Second Life account(s) is reached after investigation of your use of the Second Life software and service. Residents are not allowed to participate in the Second Life virtual world if their accounts have been suspended or disabled for violations of our Terms of Service. However, if you can maintain in good faith that the violations were not due to your actions or negligence, or the actions or negligence of others working for you, you may appeal the suspension or closure of your account(s) in writing to the address below. Please provide any relevant information that you believe would explain the violations we detected. Linden Lab reserves sole discretion in considering whether to take any action on a written appeal. If you would like to appeal your warning or suspension, you may contact Second Life Support, in writing, at the address below: Attn: Account Reviews: Appeals Linden Lab 945 Battery Street San Francisco, CA 94111 Or by fax: 415-651-9221 We also accept appeals filed electronically using the ticket submission process described above. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Why_is_my_account_on_hold%3F
  17. Pussycat Catnap wrote: ... that crowd follows that DJ. So again, how does that improve the club's commercial success? That crowd may or may not: - tip the hosts/hostesses and/or dancers, who may or may not have to give a cut to the owner as a condition of their employment (and let's face it, few are willing to work for free, so... no tips, no staff); - patronize adjoining shops, rented from the club owner, which might encourage the shop owners to keep their shops there open and/or encourage other merchants to open shops there when they look at traffic; - tip the "house" jar to help with costs related to tier, etc.; - decide to rent residential space from the club owner. DJs pay for their own music collection (those that do, anyway...) and most pay for their own stream, as well. They also advertise in their own groups to bring more people in to that club. But they should pay the club owner? Get real. If club owners didn't see the advantage of using DJs (and very few actually PAY their DJs; they work for tips alone) instead of just plugging in a canned stream, they wouldn't do it. Which do you prefer? A canned stream? Or a DJ that interacts with his/her audience?
  18. Re-activating a canceled account If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account. Warning: Even if your account is restored, the associated inventory, land, and Linden dollar balance may be unrecoverable. To start the process: Open a support case. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue. Choose Reactivate an old account. Enter the required information Click Submit. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Accounts-overview/ta-p/700019#Section_.5.2
  19. The same way premium members do. Go to this page, fill in the form, and submit it.
  20. Has it been more than 24 hours since you ordered? If so, contact the merchant, explain what happened, and politely request redelivery of the item. If it has been less than 24 hours, please be patient and check again later. If the merchant doesn't respond, you can submit a support case requesting redelivery. Make sure to include the order number and the exact name of the undelivered item(s). Note: If an item purchased on the Marketplace using PayPal or a credit card is not successfully delivered to you, the credit or debit will not appear in your transaction history, and the merchant will have no record of the purchase. Simply try to purchase the item again. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Shopping-in-the-Second-Life-Marketplace/ta-p/700189#Section_.2.4

  22. As you already know, this guy has it all figured out!
  23. A "Mysterious Trader" will occasionally appear in the HUD. His appearance always causes a lot of excitement and joy throughout all the kingdoms in Tiny Empires. When he appears, the Trader will ask you for a lot of of gold, but won't say what the gold is for. Definitely pay what he asks if you have the gold, as the Trader is a boon to the players. The Trader can give you a boost in either acres or gold, if played properly. The Trader makes random appearances - usually between every 36 to 72 hours. The Trader has been known to appear more frequently if there were problems with the Tiny Empires servers. Typically, TE players may sign on one or more of their TE-playing alts to take advantage of the Trader's largesse.
  24. You can find older versions here, but only the two newest and the newest beta version are supported and eventually you will find yourself facing a mandatory update. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Category:Release_Notes Because Linden Lab supports only the current version and one version back, sixty (60) days after the release of a new official Viewer, older Second Life Viewer versions are likely to be deprecated. At that time, Residents attempting to log in using a deprecated version will be required to update to the newest Second Life Viewer. ... Mandatory Second Life Release upgrades may be necessary to to correct an urgent security issue or policy change. Under such circumstances, all Residents are required to update their official Second Life Viewer to the newest supported version. Off-cycle Mandatory updates are employed only when absolutely necessary. Please note that all Second Life Beta Viewer releases are mandatory updates. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Supported_Viewers
