  1. Now you mention it, Storm, I did gain a little inspiration from the thought of making things hard for Dres, and also from Venus' little slip of a week or so ago.
  2. I keep looking from time to time but it's been a while since I last posted.
  3. I don't think the man can be faulted at all. This is just an example of human nature at work. The relationship depended on an image (whether based on her avatar or otherwise) that he had created in his mind. When that image was shattered by the photo, the relationship, as it had been, was at end. People such as her can choose to avoid being hurt in this way. Show a RL photo in your profile or at an early stage. This considerably reduces the scope for disllusionment. Of course, you may find you are less popular if, objectively, you are unattractive, but the relationships you do form will be stronger in that they will, likely, be based on your personality rather than your looks.
  4. Mmmm. Unless my eyes are playing tricks, the truck having slipped into the ditch is not the only thing that has slipped in Venus' pic!
  5. I drag all clothes and apparel folders into the clothing part of my inventory and then find what I want by searching against the name of the store I acquired them from. For me at least, creating named sub-folders and whatever would just confuse matters.
  6. /me wonders if "clean gaming" is a euphemism.
  7. I think that such groups are usually foundered with the best of intentions. However, after a period of time, once the novelty factor is gone, they often become divisive. Some people seem to thrive on the attention they get, and influence they enjoy, from playing a key role organising the activities of such groups and a certain bitterness sets in as they see the group beginning to break up and their ability to influence others diminish.
  8. What's been lacking lately though, is a real, substantive issue for people to get their teeth into. 2008 saw the homesteads fiasco, 2009 the introduction of "adult" locations and 2010 display names. Since the RedZone outcry at the beginning of this year, all has been very quiet.
  9. Blonde hair originates from Scandinavia eh? And there's me thinking most women acquired it from a bottle. I live and learn!
  10. Brunette - deep chestnut in particular. However, at the end of the day, it comes down to the overall package of matching hair style and colour with skin tone and face shape.
  11. My AO! Talking accessories in the more conventional sense, I always wear an ear-ring in my left ear and signet ring on the little finger of my left hand.
  12. I've always thought how interesting and enlightening it would be if for one day all avatars resembled their controllers RL shape.
  13. Randall Ahren wrote: Why don't you post a photo and see what the hetero-ladies think of your current avatar's appearance? Those threads are usually pretty interesting. You should start a "Male Hunk" thread, Randall. Perhaps try to persuade Storm to pose in his mankini to get the ball rolling!
  14. Having lived about 10 miles from Bramley for almost 20 years when I was younger, I'd never realised that it was a place having any culture. Eee-by-gum, you live and learn.
  15. Check out some of the shapes, skins, looks etc at Sophistishapes. There are lots of "boyish" looks there as I recall. You can do that either inworld or on the Marketplace.
  16. Void, I doubt that the fear of libel suits is the reason for the prohibition in the ToS. I imagine there are many, many instances of libel occuring daily through the medium of local/nearby chat. The disclaimers are ineffective. However, the prohibition on sharing chat logs appears to be breached so often that it seems pretty ineffective too. Nobody has ever provided me with a good reason why someone sending lewd and offensive IMs to a stranger should have any legitimate expectation that those messages will not be dislcosed to others.
  17. Dance animations have come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. There are some great ones out there now. I have a personal preference for Akeyo but there are plenty of other places worth checking out too. It's easy to drop them into either a HUD or chim. If you own land you might like to consider getting an intan dance ball to load with dances too. If you think that you may want to do this, check the permissions on the dances you're buying. Transferable dances may be cheaper than copyable dances but can't be used in a both a HUD/chim and an intan dance ball. Happy hunting!

  19. I've had a facial expression auto emote for about 3 years now. It activates an expression (eg. smiling or frowning) when trigger words are typed by me in local chat (eg. I say "worry" or "worried" in conversation and a worried expression is triggered). I don't think anyone has ever commented one way or another on my auto emote, so it can't be too annoying or irritating.
  20. Aleena, the men are just displaying the "social skills" which have caused them to be losers in RL.
  21. Some lovely pics have been posted here over the last few days, that's for sure.
  22. Fuelled by my suprising (to me, at least, but not it seems to others) success at playing a born again SL virgin over several years, I've recently turned my hand to playing a dom. Even with the assistance of voice morphing, I'm still at the stage where people are finding it very hard to take me seriously. But that will pass, right?
  23. I've always found it a little irritating that when you first join a group its "title" is automatically activated above your head.
