  1. What I've been told about why but have not yet confirmed is that SL must follow California law, and California requires the consent of both/all parties
  2. Ahh yeah I'd agree there, more of a curious thought and an attempt to better understand this rule. Let me toss out one more question here, once an IM has been shared, is the next person to share the same IM also violating the ToS? Let's say I talked to a girl in SL, this girl copied my chat to my SL wife, and she copied it back to me? Has my wife SL wife violated the ToS with her action?
  3. I have seen the Disclosure Policy in the ToS and I have seen MANY different forms of disclaimers in profiles, are any of these valid? I have been told by several people that they aren't though it does seam to me that there would be a way to do so by my reading of the ToS. ToS States; DisclosureResidents are entitled to a reasonable level of privacy with regard to their Second Life experience. Sharing personal information about your fellow Residents without their consent -- including gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual preference, alternate account names, and real-world location beyond what is provided by them in their Resident profile -- is not allowed. Remotely monitoring conversations in Second Life, posting conversation logs, or sharing conversation logs without the participants' consent are all prohibited. It seams to me that defining "consent" is the important thing here. Is having the chance to see a disclaimer in a profile and IM'ing or sharing personal info anyway "consent" not likely. However, if one was to use an auto response so that each IM conversation began with a statement that said something like; "by continuing this conversation you are agreing that you have read and understand the Terms of Service in regards to the disclosure of this IM conversation and it's contents, and furthermore consent to my disclosure if this conversation" Couldn't continuing a conversation after a direct statement like that be considered consent?
  4. Abuse Report sent, they really don't give you enough charactors to work with. Would I normaly hear back at some point? Also just in case and cause I thought it a good idea sent an IM to the real Joshia Linden avi
  5. Thanks, Best way to go about filling that AR if I think I need to, and if I do any chance it could come back to bite me, I'm sure at some point I probably broke a rule or 2 before I knew better?
  6. I have a rather long history of butting heads with an avi that used to claim to work for LL and now claims that he is Joshua Linden and can do nasty things to me. The history and reasons are long and actually rather minor, but the threats are current, how do I find out if this is true? I doubt it is, but would be nice to know. Either way I could use some guidence on a course of action. Thanks
  7. Thanks, my goal here was to see if LindeX could work better for me then VirWoX, so far that answer is no in all aspects except buying lindens with dollars due to the difference in both trading fees and PayPal fees.
  8. Looking at the fees on the lindex I see $0.30 per transaction for buy, and 3.5% for sell. Are these fees set and the same for everyone, or is there a discount available for large traders? The $0.30 buy fee, how is that applied if an order is only partially filled?
  9. Back in the day I messed around on the Xstreet Currency exchange, now I guess it's changed to the Lindex though I'm not seeing a limit order option. All I see now are buy and sell market order options, can anyone tell me why? Did LL make it only for premium members? I have a verified paypal and am in the US, but am not a premium member.
