You need to get yourself some animation overrides (AOs) and a HUD to put them in. You can acquire the HUD with AOs as a package. Search for "animation override" on MarketPlace or visit somewhere such as "Vista" or "Animation Warehouse" inworld.

I've used the in-viewer Emerald/Phoenix/Firestorm AO in the past and found it worked well, although I'm using a Vista ZHAO HUD at present. However, I have a question about the Firestorm in-viewer AO. If I load animations and a notecard into that AO which include such things as "turns" and "pre-jumps", will they operate on my avatar even though I can't "control" or "see" them in the in-viewer AO?

Don't the people you mention, Mick, act the way they do simply to make themselves (in the saddest of ways) the centre of attention? I think Qwalyphi has a point. I judge whether social location is worth returning to solely by the quality (or otherwise) of the local chat. There are many reasons why some prefer IMs though, such as semi-literacy or a preference for not publicising hapless chat up techniques.

I'm not (to adopt cockney rhyming slang) a merchant banker (or any other form of banker for that matter), but I think it disgusting (whether those folks have spines or not) that in London their entirely pointless encampment has forced St. Paul's cathedral to close its doors to the public.

I'd have some sympathy for the realistic height brigade (who in the main seem to have female avis) if their body shapes were typical of those to be seen on a RL high street. Odd how so few seem to have size 18 shaped avis although I'm sure a fair proportion of their controllers will be that size in RL.
