  1. Oooh I'd love that! ( If the houses were different though:) )
  2. Why? SL gives the opportunity to be the opposite.
  3. I don't think that's true - they haven't got the theme fixed for theme 8 yet, so now's the time to voice what you would like to see! You never know, LL may take into consideration some of what they read here...
  4. If you'd asked me this a couple of years ago I would have probably said the number one for me would be modern or forest setting, or just with lots of plants and greenery, but having experienced the houseboat I think my taste has changed a bit. My top 4 : 1. Home next to water Not sure on what the style should be, and I wouldn't mind it on a 512 plot, but it could be on an island, partial beach, on stilts, or whatever provides the water feel. Island would be awesome, but not a beach hut - too small. Either a house on a land plot that is surrounded by water on all sides instead of having roads and paths between them, or have a handful of homes to an 'island', each surrounded by water. I'd like the landscaping to have greenery though, not all beach . I love the way some of the houseboats have been done - grassy or sandy, rocky at the back but looking out onto water so there's a mix of land and water around. 2. Modern minimalist (open plan, lots of large windows, others have quoted palo alto, so yeah something similar) 3. Houses in a camper style region I love the camper regions, with all the greenery and rivers landscaping but not fond of campers (size). A simple modern home would do. 4. Something completely different , e.g fantasy, something out of the box, not necessary true to real world. I think my perfect home might be modern minimalist in a camper region where the house is overlooking water lol. I think there are so many ideas LL could choose from. Other ones that could be nice to have in SL too: - floating homes or islands in the air - Sci-fi theme - tree houses
  5. Wow, houseboat islands popping up all over the place! (south of the new part of Belli, near to whatever continent that is - I still don't know the names of all the continents lol) There's another copy of what I think is a dream island too (houseboat, trad, camper one..)
  6. Thank you!:) I love the way the snow sits on top of the houseboat:)
  7. Derendering is your friend:) It can turn a 'pretty nice' plot into 'fantastic' one...:)
  8. Thanks for your comments Patch, interesting to know:) Can't wait to find out what this surprise feature is!... Oh now you have me jumping up and down with excitment! Please can I have a minimalist open plan, with plent of long windows, on a waterfront surrounded by some greenery on some sides??Please, please pretty please...? 😁 LOL, ok, maybe that's too much to ask, but a girl can dream 😊 Love what's been done so far, sooo looking forward to see what's next.
  9. I'm still in the same place I got back May (June?), houseboat. I sometimes feel like it's out in the sticks, as up in the corner on Sagarc, but it has a great view and square plot I love. There are only about 5 or 6 other locations I would be happy with (since square plots aren't common, nor those not overlooking other houseboats). I actually went round Bellisseria and looked at the potential locations before I managed to get mine to see if I would be happy in any, so I know:) So to move would be a bit of a silly risk in my eyes. Unless another theme comes out in the future which I like better, or if LL continue to add more houseboat islands (i.e. those backed onto green land or sand not other houseboats), and we are in a position where availability has exceeded demand, then I'd consider it further. I don't have the luxury of premium alts. If I did well I'd be house hopping like mad:)
  10. Umm, land shortage? lol:) Actually, there are some campers already on beach spots over in the South West of Belli - I don't think they've all been released yet.
  11. I've been thinking, if the LL and the Moles keep making the regions and homes better each time (which in my opinion they are), the first round of homes on Belli will soon become the ones no-one wants lol. (kidding...I'm sure there'll be lots of people who still love them:) )
  12. If I wasn't so picky about having a square plot, and could guaranteed to get a houseboat there I would move!
  13. That larger part is a really nice mix of trads, houseboats and campers. I thought the area here would have been a much bigger land mass eventually (another continent) , but it fits nicely with Bellisseria as it is. I'm beginning to think the next continent will be elsewhere, not nearby. There's another lot of houseboats too below that (just below Moonia, which I swear gets bigger everytime I visit it...), really nice place to have a houseboat if you want somewhere with a great view over water.
  14. I can understand what the OP is saying. I think so far LL have done a wonderful job with all the new homes and environments (love all the landscaping!), and I think the Victorians are even better than the traditionals. It's clear to see they have tried to make a big improvement over the first gen homes, and the demand for them shows success. I've been having a lot of fun with my new home and just exploring all the new areas, so it's a success in my eyes. It's also been nice to see end enjoy all the community spirited things that have come out of it too. With the demand we've seen for the traditional houses I don't think there will be a shortage of people wanting the Victorians. I do however wonder if this theme was part of the original project precisely because they are so similar to the trads in design. Perhaps the demand pushed LL to just tweak the trads in order to quickly provide more homes. But at this point I'm not sure it really matters as I think they will be snapped up quickly by those still waiting for a trad, (or any new home), so if it makes lots of people happy that's great. I really feel for those getting frustrated with not being able to get one right now, so if the new release solves that problem for a while, fantastic. Having said that, I personally would have like to see something markedly different on offer compared to the traditionals. Like the OP I admit I also was a little dissapointed when there were indications recently that they were Victiorians. I had been so looking forward to something 'new'. I think this sums it up well: When the first releases happened earlier this year and speculation began about themes I kinda assumed LL would go a similar route, i.e. have all the themes more distinct. Granted, houseboats and campers are. But not the trads and Victorians. So it's making me doubt now that distinct themes are coming in the future. I really do hope I'm wrong so that there is more variety to choose from. I'm sticking with my houseboat for now because the other homes are not really my thing, but I would like there to be something else that I would like better (crosses fingers for a more minimalist style, big windows, open plan like the meadowbrooks were). I don't want to detract from the lovely work the LL folks have done (Moles, yay), I'm enjoying it all, but I agree with the OP.
  15. Looks like the names for the new regions on the new land mass are done for the most part: You can't see the land yet and it's not showing on the map either (well not for me). But it hints to the release maybe being soooon...:)
  16. Looking at the SSP map gives a pretty good idea. Some regions appear to have a feature in the center, others don't appear to have anything. I think the Expo was an example of one that might have a central feature e.g bridge or garden area. So it will be dependent on what region you end up in, and where your house is as to whether you see that. I don't think it's a case of every region looking like the Expo with only a few homes spread out - not judging by the SSP. Examples to illustrate: These two with central features (bridge, and fountain for the other I'm guessing): This one no distinct central feature
  17. There are no cliques when it comes to getting a house. It's an automated system. Follow the tips given in the forum ( auto refresh etc.) and don't give up. Especially not now...there's a big release of new homes coming (rumours are this month maybe after the Expo finishes on 15th, so 16th onwards/next month), in addition to some more houseboats and traditional homes which are still being built to the south of the continent. So the scarecity should abate for a while, and you stand a good chance of getting something.
  18. Everyone's been posting in the Victorian theme thread, a number of pics there too. I have some in my blog also. I think the regions will look lovely when released, simply based on what they've done so far on Bellisseria. I'll be happy for all those patiently still waiting to nab a home, at least they'll stand a good chance if they do a massive release. Yes, colour changing walls..seems like LL have been listening to people's requests, and I think there's more to come in the way of customisations since Patch hinted that the homes can do lots of things... There's a rumour there may be a release before Christmas (other thread somewhere I think), so hopefully it's not too long for everyone to wait:) The homes are not for me, but I think they are lovely, and although they are very similar to the trads I think they are better, and I love the landscaping. I'm looking forward to exploring the regions when released.
  19. If I was after one of these homes this would really make me happy. I loved the spacious feel inside this one. But part of the reason I'm not sure I'd be happy in one is exactly because there are so many rooms - I wouldn't know what to do with them all lol. And I probably wouldn't even 'use' most of them. I think the roominess of the Hardy but as a single story like the Doyle would be nice. But I'm sure these will make lots of people happy:)
  20. Yes I realise that. But I still think they will be popular, given how popular the trads are...and they are 20 or so to a region too.
  21. I think these will be really popular. Good job if they are doing one massive relase, I think they'll be all snapped up so fast! I'm not taking one though...quite happy with my houseboat, Victorian style not really my thing, but I think they have been beautifully done with the landscaping and all.
  22. Here's a shot of some of the landscaping. Lots of flowers and trees around:
  23. The area looks really lovely. They do seem similar to the trads inside but there are fewer doors so they feel far more spacious inside, which I think is great, and some of the windows are a bit bigger. They have a back porch. Patch says they can do some great stuff - not sure what he means, he's keeping that to himself till they are released I think, but I'm guessing maybe you can change them a bit (remove or add something?) more than just the decor colour.
