  1. Sounds a good bit like the age old problem us ancient oldbies called rubberbanding back in the day. Rubberbanding is caused by lag. The lag may not necessarily be on your end. Does it happen when you are on a different viewer then your usual? In order to eliminate as many lag possibilites as... well... possible, give these things a try https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_lag_troubleshooting And if nothing on that pages helps, then you can look at other possibilities. That's how troubleshooting works. Process of elimination. Eliminate the obvious first.
  2. I don't want to embarass him but Matty did successfully tweak that swing script today so he knows now that there are some things that he can do. Let him take it at his own pace. If he needs help, he knows where to find it.
  3. @Matty Luminos Package sent! If you get stuck or need any help, just ask. If I'm not on there are plenty of people in this thread that will be able to help. And enjoy your new garden swing.
  4. What matters is, you are not a flop. You are a talented person. Work with what you have, build on it and you'll be amazed at what you can achieve. You'll soon be getting something you can tinker with. I'm working on getting it boxed right now. Don't worry about breaking anything. In fact, I want you to break it! You'll understand when you read the notecard.
  5. Note that my graphics card is not a high end gaming card. ASUS M51BC Series Windows 10 Home 64bit AMD FX(tm)-8300 Eight-Core Processor, 3.3 GHz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) RAM 24 GB ASUS GeForce GTX 1050 OC 2GB https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/CERBERUS-GTX1050-O2G/ https://www.pcgamer.com/geforce-gtx-1050-review/ I keep my av complexity well below 100k. Usually under 50k.
  6. I know the feeling all too well. Many people can't. It's just that there are enough of them that can't ever admit it or are never in a position to need to admit it that we never know about so we end up looking like the unintelligent few when that is really not the case. Even the forums I used to own... I could never do what I really wanted because I couldn't code. So I learned how to change the skins, starting with just learning how to change colors. Start with the "easy" things. If you can learn to tweak a little it will help to start understanding some of it. Just don't set your sights on ever actually being able to write one from scratch. It's the same method I used to drop the 50+ pounds I had gained. I set my first goal to lose 30 pounds. Once I was down to 150, I set my next goal at 140, then 130, then 125. I am now down to what I weighed before I ever had to prove to other half that the amount of food I ate was more than enough and to eat like he wanted me to I'd pack on the pounds fast. Which is precisely what happened. I went from 120 to 180+ in just a few months and it took years to get it all off. Not the best decision I ever made but it got him off my back about it which relieved a good bit of stress on me. When I log in later today, I'll try to remember to send you a swing script I have and you can play with how high it swings. Maybe something will click for you and open up more tweaking possibilities for you. Like making the movement smoother. If you start getting frustrated with it, walk away for a while, or go do something else in SL for a while, then come back to it with a fresh mind and try again. And if you need help, it's just a post or IM away.
  7. PDD is as close as anyone is going to get to that. FPS fluctuates too much to be any kind of stable base. Personally, I leave my DD set at 64 and lower and raise it as needed. But that setting also depends on other viewer graphic settings. I rarely max any of those out, even when the computer I am using can handle it. I'm just not going to push my pcs that hard. It's one of the reasons I so rarely have any issues and why my pcs last longer.
  8. No Matty. You are intelligent enough. The problem is LSL is unique to SL and isn't anything like any other "coding system" in use. I've been considered a "genius" since I was a child but even I can't wrap my brain around LSL enough to script. I can tweak, sometimes I get lucky and can add something and it works (usually not) but actually scripting an object from scratch? Never going to happen.
  9. Already been done. It's been in the FS viewer for years. https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_progressive_draw_distance
  10. Ah... I think I know what you are talking about now. Back then they did charge you for creating an account if you already had one. The charge was $9.95 I think... right at $10. That changed in 2005 though. I would never have made the first alt if I had had to pay for it. You must have created that one before the change.
  11. Maybe instead of begging LL do something it isn't going to do (and likely can't do since it isn't just mainland that is involved) you could try some troubleshooting that can help you to reduce the lag you experience. https://wiki.firestormviewer.org/fs_lag_troubleshooting
  12. Yes, I'm sure god will take that into account M.(ademoiselle) Olly Mews. Or is it M.(adame) Olly Mews.
  13. I have no idea what you're talking about... Phil? brought it up last time? huh? No worries. Not really important. Just in all the years I've been in SL the only account I ever paid for was my original that was "premium" before there ever was such a thing as premium. Basics didn't exist at the time. This was during the early years when you got a free week trial and then it was a monthly sub. I've never paid for any basic accounts, ever. But then, I've never gone crazy creating alts either.
  14. That's what I was thinking. It had to be for premium.
  15. Odd. I never had to pay for either of my alts that were created in 2005 or the ones after either. And they all used the same email. I'm pretty sure basics were introduced in late 2004/early 2005. Unfortunately, LL doesn't mention when basics were introduced. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/History_of_Second_Life
  16. Even those of us who worked viewer support for more than 5 years don't know everything there is to know. Not even the Lindens do. It's an ongoing learning process for all of us.
  17. Shopping is already enough of a PITA, why make it even more so? Less desirable goods are just that. If you want to increase the desirability, you should either improve the goods or set them at a reduced price and see if you can't increase the volume that way. Of course, it is difficult to tell without seeing these less desirable goods, but you may want to consider grouping them into fat packs. Or even offer the ones that sell the least as gifts or dollarbies. Sadly, sometimes things just don't sell very well and in those cases, I will usually either pull the item completely or offer it at a reduced price. If reducing the price doesn't help, that's when I pull or they become dollarbies or gifts/freebies. Hopefully these suggestions will help to get the creative marketing muse working for you again. 👍
  18. OH! I was so, so, so hoping you had done that! I LOVE Elvira! And the country song too.
  19. I never understood why he always had to climb up the inside only to get washed back down. Why didn't he just climb up the outside of the spout the first time? Most children's songs and rhymes never made sense to me anyway even as a child.
  20. Does your friend know that Argon is the third-most abundant gas in the Earth's atmosphere? And that the word argon is derived from a Greek word meaning lazy/inactive? Sheds a different kind of light on things.
  21. Almonds are an excellent source of magnesium which helps me control my acid reflux. A few almonds at night before going to bed can make all the difference in the world. The chocolate is just an added benefit. I don't eat them raw. They must be roasted. Same with peanuts. Except I like my peanuts roasted in the shell, NO salt. And you can thank my dad for the chocolate covered ants. I didn't think they would be good but they are. You don't taste the ants, they just add a bit of crunch to the chocolate. Like a Nestle's Crunch or a $100,000 bar, only 1000 times better.
