  1. I'd throw post up a squatter meme but I'm too lazy to go look for one.
  2. Alright. *taps toes* Who are you and what have you done with our Linden Lab?
  3. I think that is the one I was looking for. I don't remember the mermaid though. Like I said, I only vaguely remembered the video and it's because of the song that I remember it. ETA: I was replying to @Whirly Fizzle but... yeah. lol
  4. They've made a lot of improvements and added a lot of things to do over the years. I have two lifetimes and paid for one for my daughter so as long as the game runs I can play. AT the time the lifetimes were only about $70 so I jumped on that. Don't know how much they are now or even if they still offer them. Haven't looked in a long time.
  5. ok... So. The video I was looking for has either been removed or it's old enough to be buried so deep it would take me hours to find it. Anyway, I did run across this interesting piece in my search.
  6. Looks more like Star Stable than SL to me. And yes I do play Star Stable at 60. I vaguely remember the video he is talking about. That's not it. I'll look but I doubt I'll find it. If I do, I'll post it.
  7. If you're just looking for friends why limit yourself to specific age groups? Friends come in all shapes, sizes, skin colors and ages.
  8. I could see microtransactions in Blender but that would make it for profit and Blender is nonprofit so that won't happen. But loot boxes in a 3d modeling program? Creating them yes but... it would be absolutely pointless.
  9. I've been hanging out in virtual worlds for about 25 years now. They've never been very heavily populated. They are a niche market. The longest running one, Active Worlds, has had a concurrency of about 300 for the past 2 decades and it is still alive and kicking. Ryan Schultz did a short piece on it here https://ryanschultz.com/2018/05/11/active-worlds-a-brief-introduction/ I left AW for good when I decided to stay in SL. That was 15 years ago.
  10. I'm hesitant to do much building until the 2nd myself. I'm just certain I will log into one of my accounts (none of which have ever had a USD balance) and it will be telling me I have to accept the Tilia ToS. Which is going to really piss me off because then I will have to chase rabbits trying to get my account back without having to agree to a service I don't and won't use and then have to go over people's heads again. Think there's no chance it will happen? You don't know how bad my luck usually runs.
  11. Down home southern with an oriental flare. Or Japanese with a down home southern flare. I'd live there.
  12. LL does do the hush hush thing when negotiating. People understand it where there is a nondisclosure type of agreement between LL and TPVs but they aren't quite so understanding when it comes to other kinds of nonprofits. And yes I do know for a fact about nondisclosure type of agreements between LL and TPVS which are run purely by volunteers and are nonprofits as I used to work on the support team for one of those TPVs and saw it with my own two eyes. Agreed to one or two as well. There are other incidents that come to mind as well. RedZone for one. I know there have been many others but those two examples should be sufficient.
  13. I'm a little disappointed in LEA. I said they wouldn't last 10 years. They folded in 8. I still won the bet.
  14. The original Gramophones were all wind ups. Some were works of art.
  15. I love it when a plan comes together.
  16. I laughed because '77 was the year I graduated high school. I never did care for most disco. Always into acid/psychedelic rock, though. https://www.allmusic.com/style/acid-rock-ma0000012327
