  1. I'm betting WE2019 1 will be the new theme preview, the parcel sizes appear to be the same as the Traditionals' sizes and the layout looks about right for a LL Home preview. If it is a new theme, the layout with a lot fewer homes on it could suggest eight styles and a simple display of each, or something to do with any Super Premium announcement and perk, such as 1024 m2 LLHome with two-times (or more?) LI allotment. As for the rest of the objects... only "They" know. I may be way off-course, but me mind never stops spinnin'! I expect @Patch Linden to put on his Let's be EEEVIIIL Hat and start dropping teaser pictures this and next month. Muahahaha! I expect the "Super Premium" to be one of the surprise announcements. As for "incentives"... that could be anything and I do remember during SL16B Lindens and Ebbie alluding to "more perks for Premiums" - so I am also suspecting an update to (regular?) Premium benefits.
  2. Not only is it not lazy, it takes great skill to do this well. Anyone can slop a filter onto a picture, a-la-Intsagram. Filters and heavy post-processing only makes a not-good picture look better by hiding the bad parts. If I do any post-processing it's almost always limited to adding a subtle vignette and nothing more. I don't even crop if I can avoid it.

  4. Create a box and in the General Tab where it says click the default is Touch. Change that to OPEN. Done.
  5. I didn;t say Eve's Adam is popular, I listed the most popular in order of popularity and there's a big gap between Belleza Jake and Eve's Adam. The Legacy is so new on the block I'd genuinely be surprised if there are more than a hundred sold by now.
  6. Unless they explicitly said it was for a proverbial roll in the hay, I would've taken it.
  7. I just prefer not to look like a trollop, which almost all of those do. I kind of shake my head and laugh quietly when I see the way so many others are dressed... at public events and whatnot and silently say to myself "I'd like to see you actually wearing that stuff, even in private."
  8. Oh so much THIS. Seriously. I do premium not to support Linden Lab; couldn't care less. I do it because I'm selfish, I want what they're offering for the money. I "support" Linden Lab in a moral sense (their people are just doing their jobs to put food on the table) - but as for throwing money at them? Because it's for my benefit, not theirs. I suspect this purview is true for everyone else, whether they admit it or not.
  9. I hadn't thought of that! LOL The Legend of the Tatakaka Monster, keep your children AWAY FROM THE WATER!
  10. This is the benefit of Bellisseria: The staff and owners are Linden Lab itself. 👍
  11. I am on a non-human avatar roll this weekend! LOL So I mentioned about how no payment information on file means nothing with how people spend money and pointed to my mostly-forgotten mermaid/lamia alt. So I thought I'd log into her for a another look-see and I forgot how much effort I put into her. So here she is... just for kicks. I also have created NSFF* versions here and here. This is my Lamia look. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamia *Not Safe For Forums
  12. There are events every weekend and some throughout the week. This past Saturday at the fairgrounds (LL-managed public region the is "leased" to residents to create events) there was a big party that also included a drag-racing set-up long with the requisite DJ and dancing. I just dropped in, was instantly welcomed by name and wandered about. Then went over to the race track and had my go of it (it was actually a lot of fun). I didn't know anyone there except for @Matty Luminos - and it was a lot of fun to watch how peoples' favorite vehicles did on the track. Then Sunday I saw a bunch of green dots on the map and TP's in. Again, instant welcomes by name (even though I was wearing my new Chibi Noodle avatar) - though I rarely do the club-dancing thing I felt very welcome and stayed a lot longer than I often do. The fun thing about Bellisseria is just look at the map, if you see a large stack of green dots: Just TP in, you'll be warmly welcomed with open arms, no matter who you are, where you're from, what you look like. I liken it to SL circa 2006. Yes. really. So, I suppose this comment is an example of an opposite of a pet peeve? LOL
  13. The first quote you replied too is not what I said, but rather the quote my reply was to (the second quote of me is accurate) I know: forums glitch, it's happened to me before also. As for standing around: I do that because I will get out of the way of the landing spot (why region managers don't set landing hubs is beyond me) and then I just cam through the entire event. I concur with this greatly - a LOT of SL feels (if not actually) very cliquish. especially a lot of the club venues and, to a generally lesser extent, most role-play venues and regions. I think the Bellisseria communities are the first where I can drop-in and actually feel welcomed. Kudos to Patch and Moles for creating a very successful experiment with the 2019 LL Homes because it's working, even for basic (non-premium) residents as they are all welcomed with open arms, too.
  14. If I were a Linden and the tech person that sets these up, I'd likely set it up like this: The simple and best solution: A "Block IM from NPIOF" actually acts more like BUSY MODE: The IM comes through, but no doorbell, no blinkie tabs, no visual or audio indicators at all. (This would likely be the easiest to implement and also have the best balance: A "busy mode" but only for NPIOF-initiated IMs and Inventory offers (straight to trash)) - and does not apply to group notices and chats. And if interaction happens then that IM is "unlocked" (acts normal) for the full logged-in session and does not reset until the user relogs (for that specific IM with that person.) Offer an optional auto-reply sentence created by the user. Though if I were to get silly-detailed on it, then the rules could be like these. If "No IM from NPIOF Persons" is turned ON (do not want): NPIOF Cannot initiate an IM, however this person can always initiate an IM to NPIOF - IM will stay alive during this logged-in session (relog to reset) Friends can be set to always allow IM initiation, even if NPIOF Can create ad-hoc IM chats that include NPIOF (as per #1 above) - and also be invited to ad-hoc chats created by others, even if it include NPIOF persons, as long as the one doing the invitation is not NPIOF; it the person doing the invitation is NPIOF then unable to invite this person; rule stands. Sending inventory items, Linden Dollars, Friendship requests, any other interaction invokes rule #1 above. Group notices and group chats are immune to this setting and NPIOF restriction never applies. This is how I would set it up.
  15. I quote the above, though direct this comment to all. It is because SL is becoming way over-meshed and the prim is still king. The main benefit of Bellisseria (as mentioned above) is that all that mesh is the same and so are the textures, save for privately-owned items. Mesh is the main evil for computer lag. In decorating my trailer I did create a single prim base for my bed. And this is what I see every time I login (this snapshot is literally three seconds after the world appeared): The prim is still king. And now Bellisseria (and many, if not most estate regions) is 99.43% all mesh where, in many places, plain old prims could have been more efficient. So the solution is to turn draw distance way down and use Graphic Presets. I have a Ultra Max set to 256 meters, and Ultra Main, set to 128. LOD set to 2 (mid point) in all presets. I think the real issue is that people are pushing their graphic settings too high because they want both: Beautiful pictures AND zero lag (not to be confused with latency; rubber-banding while moving). Most people complaining of lag are driving too fast for road conditions.
  16. Since you've revised the thread, here is some updated information: There's nothing wrong with sticking to a classic avatar. Otherwise the top three in popularity and quality are Signature Gianni, Belleza Jake, and Eve's Adam. In that order. If none of those do it for you, then there is always Sansar that you can try.
  17. Me.... actually some of the evening gowns for mesh bodies use flexi skirt components along with mesh skirts parts. Look at some of the gowns made by Wild Orchid. Precisely this. All-mesh gowns look gorgeous as long as you stand like a statue. They look ridiculously-stupid the moment you move and utterly laughably idiotic if you jump onto an intan other other dance ball. Flexie is still a thing in SL, so long as it is used wisely. The better mesh hair, for example, always uses a little flexie to give it a more natural, realistic look.

  19. I Amy be or not, I don't know, but I do know this: there are two type of shopper: Those shopping on price and those shopping on quality. I believe the Modify permission is part of the "quality" equation, because it allows me to fix where there may be a glitch, to it allows me to add the item to another item or voice-overs; improving the quality, etc. Those who shop quality have no problem paying a higher price for it, as long as it's within that shoppers threshold of reasonable. Offer both versions (mod/no-mod) is the smart thing to do. Not doing so and offering only no-modify is the creators' sad mistake of wanting control after the sale.
  20. Wow, a thread about Linden Lab reblogging others has turned into a debate about sex and the various styles and types of it. I didn't bother reading the four pages of commentary since my last comment here, though I did scan it over. I will not debunk anyones perspective or view on any of it. My own comment is simply this and I'll try to be pithy. If you want to ban Gor in SL then we also should ban all Master/Slave activities, too as that's all that role-play really is. It doesn't matter what it's called, whether a lifestyle, kink, deviant-twisted-bevahior. It is adults participating in adult activity that they want to partake in. The same with all the different kinds of adult activity that goes on. Bringing up the argument of allowing pedophilia as an argument to allowing Master/Slave activity is a cheap shot; pedophilia is not adult activity. Then there have been mentions of "legal in TOS and not real life" - etc. The TOS serves to protect Linden Lab. An image of a man standing over a woman (or vice-versa) holding chain leading to a collar around the neck is not illegal in the U.S. An image - no matter how cartoonish, etc., of a perceived child in sexual activity or situation is outright illegal in the U.S and just possessing such an image can land you in prison. I understand this derailment of the thread has percolated from the asking of whether the reblogging will include adult-related themes. Linden Lab has already stated that they are not highlighting blogs, they are highlighting specific individual posts. Thus, I believe, this entire debate about what should or should not be banned, about whether LL should allow adult-activity-related reblogging and the rest is moot and people are appearing to be stressed over wasted position-angling. No one is going to change each others' minds about anything, so the debate goes on and on and on and no one is gaining any ground. Eventually it turns into slinging mud and when you sling mud you lose ground. My personal philosophy in avoiding and quickly ending drama is to just let them have the last word and move along. It's not easy to do, but it's the stronger person who does it.
  21. Giant Cookie Winner! This and my original accounts have payment info on file because Premium and stuff. But my (admittedly: rarely used) Mermaid alt has never had any payment info on file, is just as "old" in SL age as my others and yet she is decked out a heckofalot more costly than pretty much every other mermaid I've ever seen (I tend to go overboard with attention to detail, I suppose). The payment info on file, I think, was more useful WAY back, like when I first came in (2005-6) though I don't remember exactly why. But it was a criteria that was actually useful to know and I think it had a lot to do with SL business. But nevertheless, these days it should not be used as judgment criteria in the least.
