  1. I don't believe so. The explanation she gave me made sense, but the initial post was really vague regarding intent, and frankly her (somewhat acerbic) response to me was the first time I saw a clear answer. I think a lot of us use SL as a tool to cope with situations: it's a creative outlet, it can be meditative, and it can serve as a means of distraction/ redirection, among many other options. It's nothing we can't ultimately do RL, but sometimes SL brings more distant options closer. Yes, I was acerbic and do apologize for that as I feel you were sincere, unlike many others who participated in this thread. At the time I couldn't take one more "confused" person. For me, the question was very clear -- did you find ways SL could also help you in some way with stress you might encounter here? When I saw many posting expressed they didn't even experience stress here, and even found the thought absurd (which felt quite disingenuous as for over 10 years I've heard the same people complain about the many difficulties encountered within SL), I amended the question anyway to include stresses we might encounter outside of SL too and subsequently use SL as a tool to feel better (develop resiliency). I imagine it was difficult for you to understand I'd even amended it amidst the chaos. The term "resiliency' proved too difficult for some to comprehend as well, so I attempted to remedy that by asking what within SL helped anyone 'feel good'. Well then that cascaded into insanity.
  2. LANDSCAPING WITH LUNA EARTH DAY CELEBRATION -- Today (Monday), 12pm I hope you can join us Monday (Earth Day) @ Noon where we will have our 2nd Landscaping With Luna meeting. We were dancing and experiencing the Ocean conference @ the 1st meeting with little time to introduce ourselves and chat. So Monday @ noon we can introduce ourselves after honoring Mother Earth for half an hour with moving meditation and song. Then we can discuss our landscaping projects if you currently have one or have a plan in mind. We've been focusing on garden entrances on Discord. I'd also like to hear what you want to focus on in the group so we can plan for future meetings. Join the Discord channel if you're not there already in order to view what's been happening so far. I have some designing tips posted and you can ask particular questions about your project so we can all chime in and offer advice. Feel free to attend the first half hour, the celebration, and then leave if not interested in creating nature art. HAPPY EARTH DAY! Monday, April 22, Noon http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Satori/105/89/48 Most of the discussion happens on Discord, but there's also an inworld group for announcements: Inworld Group: Landscaping With Luna ***Paste the following in local chat inworld to join group: secondlife:///app/group/b2042ca9-9b1d-ff97-f2b0-a27fecae87b3/about DISCORD: https://discord.gg/J344jBjt
  3. Wow, and I thought you kinda sorta liked me 😂 I'm just teasing you!
  4. I know....this huge pink box comes up surrounding your post...first one made me think my graphics card was on it's way out or that I'd committed the unpardonable sin...
  5. I want the name BilliJo banned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. is s e x with puppies allowed? And since furries are not human, can you engage in s e x with a furry no matter how young they look? Was all this discussed in the Lab Gab? Maybe I should watch the video.... j/k
  7. Politics? Or just preaching? I'm so confused at the "shouldn't" and "legislate" parts. If you really wanted to know why I said what I did, and assumed it might be an important point to make, and a point that just might have possibly flown right right over your head, instead of assuming it's politics, preaching, or off-topic........I might tell you.
  8. The latter term is more offensive because it makes a serious crime sound like a joke. That too... But the point of my comment is that we don''t (or shouldn't) legislate against something because it makes us feel "icky"...we do so because it's an abuse of power.
  9. I was referring to her blanket statement regard legalities in the US -- it was not accurate: "Both are literally jailbait in the US as both are minors". But how this plays out in a court of law (more weight being given to the location of a company, and in which situations), I don't know. More importantly, I don't know how the laws could change in the future regardless of the current precedents.
  10. I changed it once I saw the color coding was missing.
  11. Aside from considering the legality of these differences, yes the latter is more offensive. It's more offensive because of the greater abuse of power over those who are more vulnerable. That's why we protect children.
  12. Yeah, I saw that on social media recently. It seems cute that the lab is greedy until you see its back legs are paralyzed! I think you mean YOU think that's why it''s meant to be cute, but it's not why I think it's cute. Dogs are simply cute in their unbridled enthusiasm for life, the same as children are. I love to see it. And oh what a mess they can be!
  13. Thankfully angels arrived to save this poor man collapsed on an ice pond:
  14. Enjoyed spending some time with an adorable elf friend @ a Fantasy Fairre event:
  15. I agree. Of course, it's also possible that we may have a twit or two among us. 🤪 So true...and also true that nobody considers it might be themselves! LOL
  16. Fantasy Fairre is 20 sims this year! I have to take breaks. Not that many years ago when I participated in one (like 6 years ago I think) it consisted of only 5 sims.
  17. Pet Peeve: People who call you a narcissist when you simply disagree with their idea and think it's ridiculous!🤣
  18. I led Kirtan today and it went GREAT!
  19. MOONLIGHT MANTRAS Every Saturday @ 8am we gather 'round the campfire beside the vast ocean and the shining moon to sing inspirational songs of love. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Satori/220/41/22 ♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪♪ Be sure and change your environment -- it's Moonlight Mantras! 。◕‿◕。 (top Menu >>> World >>> Environment >>> Midnight) Singing mantras/chants/songs can be a great way to develop not just your physical voice, but your 'soul' voice too. And we can also learn new languages, cultures, and spiritualities. We will be singing along with YouTube videos and our voices won't be projecting inworld, so no need to have a microphone enabled or worry about what your voice sounds like, as only you and your cats can hear you sing. 。◕‿◕。 The word "mantra" means to deliver or free the mind. *Join the Shambhala Sanctuary group for updates. *I've also formed a !Moonlight Mantras! group so those interested in learning Mantras, singing with others inworld, or developing singing ability can find us in Search. *Message me (Luna Bliss) with questions or if you can't find us in Search and need an invite to either group. ♥♥♥♥ INFO ABOUT MANTRAS ♥♥♥♥ There are different levels of participation when singing mantras for these gatherings: ~ Perhaps you'll want to sit back and relax, and drift along with the beautiful music. I always start with this step before embarking on the following levels. ~ Perhaps you'll want to focus on becoming familiar with new languages and/or spiritualities around the world. ~ Perhaps you'll want to improve your voice. My singing voice has improved considerably since singing mantras in earnest -- I start by turning the video up loud and pretending I sound like the singer 。◕‿◕。....lo and behold after many repetitions I notice I'm actually hitting the notes! ~ Perhaps you'll want to work on projecting yourself into the world to a greater degree with your voice (a major focus of mine atm). I even feel my chakras strengthening (particularly my solar plexus chakra), and my breath is improving as it becomes deeper with greater volume, and the muscles in my mid-section are becoming stronger. ~ Perhaps you'll want to bypass the chattering mind and become one with the sound as a kind of meditation (be totally in the present moment or in a flow state), sometimes as a preparation for deeper meditation (as is often the case in Bhakti Yoga where mantras and Kirtan dancing and singing take place before meditation). This is a truly blessed and amazing state of consciousness when it happens to me, and this 'flow state of consciousness' is crucial to the creative process in all creative endeavors -- the ability to know this state of consciousness while singing mantras is like a muscle that becomes stronger and applies to my personal efforts in creating visual art and with songwriting. ** Repetition of mantra phrasings helps to transport you to the type of consciousness described above where the conscious mind is not so active, so if you find yourself getting bored with the repetition of a phrase then close your eyes and focus on being drawn into the sound. Harmonizing will help maintain focus as well. The word "mantra" means to deliver or free the mind. https://www.arawme.com/latest-on-the-blog/kundalini-yoga-power-of-mantras-resilience-addas If you're here to sing, TURN UP THE VOLUME! -- SING LOUD WITH ℒ❤ѵℯ & ENTHUSIASM! -- VIBRATE!. Mantras work best if you sing from your heart -- to bring heart focus visualize something you love. Mantras & Chants can change consciousness!
