  1. If you did I'd make one about sleepy uncle joe lost in your rain forest 😂 Yeah, I'd position him on one of my meditation lotuses, waking from a nap, and saying "whaaat?....huhhh?...Russia bombed Chicago?...I'll finish my nap in a few and deal with it".
  2. The conference is starting soon..9am! https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Inspiration Bay/97/106/1
  3. You mean you want to deprive them of power-tripping you...their grand attempt to tell you they've rejected you to the core and your words mean nothing!?
  4. Never miss an opportunity to tell someone you dislike them and never want to hear another thing that comes out of their mouth! I think I saw that in the Bible...one of the 10 commandments.
  5. I'm not sure what the purpose of your reply is Luna. Usually, you are a nice person. *shrug* I was just being silly using fantasy humor. Imagining some crazy situation where we'd try to get past the rules by pretending to psychotic so we could talk about RL. I tend to use a lot of fantasy humor...imagining silly, improbable situations. I wanted to make a graphic with the orange one strolling through my rain forest and saying things about the election, but figured I better not push it!
  6. LM's included now...and a presentation revision: Saturday 9am (event begins) http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Inspiration Bay/97/106/1 My presentation @ 9:30am http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Inspiration Bay/159/107/1 GRATITUDE FOR MOTHER OCEAN Welcome If you click-sit on one of the circles on the ground we can glide through the water together like graceful sea creatures as we contemplate the beauty of Mother Ocean. I'm so glad you could be here at Whole Brain Health's immersive contribution to the VWBPE (Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education). The goal of VWBPE is to demonstrate how immersive virtual environments can enhance learning, and the theme this year is Mythic Origins. The gift of a virtual environment is its immersive quality -- it's ability to provide a felt sense of really being here! Many studies demonstrate we learn better in direct experience when our bodies are activated and imaginations stimulated. That's why we're going to go super immersive very soon and activate our bodies through faster dancing and cranking up the music! I'm Luna Bliss, and the creator of much of the vast undersea environment surrounding us today. I began my journey in Second Life nearly 20 years ago and immediately developed a love for landscape art, creating nature scenes for the residents of Second life. For me landscape art has been a method to increase a greater sense of appreciation and wonder, and to enable others to love nature as well. This love of nature, a gratitude for nature beyond its commodification for human use, is the missing link to the protection of our environment that is sorely needed today. When we love something, truly attempt to know it apart from what we need from it, we are better able to see what it needs to thrive. And what we love we tend to protect. Thinking only, or mostly, of what humans need from nature creates an imbalance in our relationship to the Earth, and is cause for much destruction. Human beings are then out of balance, viewing themselves as big and nature as small and separate from humans, and the desire to control nature for their own purposes is paramount. In this separation they gave what they saw as "other" the name of 'nature'. But we are entwined, and we separate ourselves at our own peril as we try to conquer and exert too much control over nature. And so-called 'nature' got along fine before we attempted to conquer and name it. And if we're not careful it will continue getting along fine without us. It's vital that we develop an astonishment for nature in and of itself, and not just for what it gives us. But how do we increase love of the environment so that nature becomes more than what sustains us as humans -- even beyond the aesthetic appreciation nature bestows on us? How do we return to our Mythic Origins where nature was alive with consciousness and our connection was felt? How can we explore the nature of the mind and the fabric of the cosmos through what ancients called "the experience of Oneness"? "Sustainability" is such a dry, academic catchword that doesn't reach what is needed, and still paints human needs as central. My favorite landscapes depict the smallness of the human body against an enormous mountain, or a vast ocean. These images position humans in the right relationship to the Earth. We can also inhabit this wonder in the tiniest bit of nature -- seeing "eternity in a blade of grass". As I took a break from this writing and drifted into a dream I saw a sparking piece of jewelry with the crystal it contained. The light as it danced upon the rock surface, the intricate design and pleasing shape, the beautiful colors. We are small indeed in the face of all the elements that created us, we humans, and that creates all forms of life -- Astonishing water!! Astonishing earth!! Astonishing fire!! Astonishing Air!! Astonishing Spirit that breathes life into all!! What can we do if wonder is too often absent from our lives, and so we take for granted our home that sustains us? What causes us to experience the gratitude and wonder of anything? What might enable us to see it more fully, to know it, to delight in it -- to have the sense of wonder in a child's eyes? What might help us develop mindfulness or the "beginner's mind" where we are astonished again, and the world around us is fresh and new? How can we 'know nature' more and 'control nature' less? Wonder is a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable. As Rachel Carson said, “Most of us walk unseeing through the world, unaware alike of its beauties, its wonders, and the strange and sometimes terrible intensity of the lives that are being lived about us.” To cultivate wonder we first and foremost need to pay attention. Mary Oliver wrote, “the soul exists and is built entirely out of attentiveness.” The attentiveness or mindfulness so crucial in creating art can help us develop a deeper love for nature - to feel astonished again. Creativity is stimulated by curiosity -- ask questions, explore new topics, learn new skills, and challenge assumptions. Curiosity opens your mind to new possibilities and perspectives, and helps you discover new connections and patterns. And the more empathy we can develop the more our creativity will fly! Empathy is also enhanced via experience and imagination - so don your mermaid outfit or fish avatar and swim through the water, twirling and diving, relishing the weightlessness. Remember how your skin felt as water swirled around you, swimming through your favorite pool or pond. Close your eyes and remember what you love about the sea. Is it the waves glistening in the sunlight as they meet the shore with its rhythmic watery heartbeat? Is it the unusual life forms you encounter when diving deep under the water, so different from familiar land forms? Is it the amazing colors drawing you in to the vibrant beauty? Meditation and chanting are two particularly useful tools in the enhancement of creativity and empathy -- they enable us to see reality with fresh eyes. Meditation and chanting free us from the 'thinking mind' and its 'stuck patterns' or preconceptions and allows us to exist in the present moment where all creativity resides. Often when I begin a garden I first listen to beautiful music, and once I feel this love manifesting I know the time is ready to begin creating. When creating a specific type of environment, like an undersea garden, listening to music written by others who love the sea can be beneficial. Likewise reading poems written by sea-lovers or studying the life forms in the ocean via books or video can help. I especially love undersea environments because the ocean is symbolic for the soul, the subconscious mind, our emotions, as well as our boundless nature. Knowing the ocean helps us know the essence of the depth of the human soul -- the more we allow ourselves to explore the hidden parts that we have been afraid to uncover, the more we can experience the vastness of who we are. I'm not sure I've come across anyone who loved the sea as much as Rachel Carson. Three great books of hers to read are named Under The Sea Wind,The Sea Around Us and The Edge Of The Sea. Nearby is the Ocean Learning Cave where Sunny has compiled songs and poems about the sea, information about the sea creatures that inhabit it, as well as books and other resources. The entrance is through the doorway with the blue arch adjacent to this room. In my group Landscaping With Luna we learn how to become landscape artists. We will develop our love of nature and make this love the central basis of all our designs. We will be delighting in poems, songs, and videos demonstrating the beauty of nature to further increase our experience and love of nature, as well as learning basic principles of design. Our initial focus will be on garden entrances. The entrance to a garden is the inviting focal point that lures us to go deeper. It beckons, it speaks, it says "enter in to this new experience -- this mysterious space beyond the doorway". I hope you'll be inspired to tell your story through landscape art, to use form and color to attract all who view your entrance to enter inside. Mary Oliver wrote: "Instructions for living a life: Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it.” I'm hoping we can do just that by paying close attention to the ocean and celebrating its wonder. At this conference we began to know nature better by considering the myths so central to our experience of the world, presented by Tooyaa @ The Hero's Walk. I hope we can begin to better understand the value in knowing nature, and how nature art assists this endeavor, through my presentation now. Shyla will further enhance our knowledge and love of the sea through her poetry event beginning soon. And be sure and check out beautiful music and poetry about the sea that touches our soul, compiled by Sunny in the Ocean Learning Cave next to where I'm standing. But now, let's appreciate nature with a bit of dancing and music. Let's return to our Mythic Origins and explore the nature of the mind and the fabric of the cosmos through what ancients called "the experience of Oneness". "All My Relations" Aho! Learning happens best when we have a felt sense of our body, and in our groundedness feel part of Mother Ocean. It's important to learn facts, but let's experience the ocean too! So if you did not already click-sit on one of the circles on the ground do so now and crank up your land music while we swim through the beautiful sea. Thank you to Shambala Celestia (from the region of Satori and land of Shambhala) for the dance circle, and for dancing us through this presentation. You are welcome to join us at Satori each month as we don our undersea apparel (I'm usually some sort of fish or mermaid) and celebrate the life-giving properties of our watery home. To receive a copy of today's presentation, information about nature art classes, and information about the Whole Brain Health project touch the the moon lantern in the center of this circle. Information about water celebrations such as this one is also there. Shyla's presentation on poetry and love of the sea will take place after the dancing completes in 10 minutes or so. I'll announce when the dance is over and it's time to find Shyla. This will diminish darkness and enhance the surreal, colorful landscape. Okay, let's crank up the music and dance....and imagine being sea creatures in the wonder-filled ocean. The song playing is about feeling gratitude for the gift of our precious home. Feeling gratitude (Mahalo) one can't help but feel love. Mahalo
  7. Just say you're watching the eclipse from your home on the Mainland, BilliJo. That for some strange reason, it's visible in the sky there. They can't argue with psychosis!!
  8. I feel for you! I had to learn college Algebra form someone who did not speak English well. Sure, I have empathy for their struggles, but I have empathy for me back then and how I feared math! (but hey, I made an 'A' anyway....yay!)
  9. The Discord for the Landscaping With Luna class keeps changing! Says I can input a permanent link, but apparently one has to pay. This link is good for 7 days...beyond that please contact me. 10. There are haunted fairies in Fantasseria doing this....I've seen them running through the mushrooms and crystals a couple times...
  11. My alt has a greasy-looking skin....help! What do I do? And why would this be the default? (just got a new head and body for her). Hope it isn't the new 'shiny' thing! Maitreya body, lelutka head. I do notice that I can't get rid of the Senra skin even when applying a new one, and wonder if this has anything to do with it.
  12. Something needs to change! All the people are split apart into pieces when I arrive, like a Freddy buzzsaw movie.
  13. Argh, now I gotta figure Discord out too??? I see your name in there now...can you see all the posts? I'm not so familiar with Discord myself..

  15. My class is just getting started, Landscaping With Luna, that might also be of help. We don't deal with the creation of mesh but instead focus on creating the design (using other people's landscaping elements for the most part as many do in Belli). We're focusing on garden entryways, pathways, and 'rooms' or focal points in our gardens atm, and utilizing design principles in their creation. Most of the action takes place on Discord, but there's also an inworld group: DISCORD: https://discord.gg/VURvpGRtWB INWORLD GROUP: secondlife:///app/group/b2042ca9-9b1d-ff97-f2b0-a27fecae87b3/about
  16. Bagnu just stop it. I said I don't like people projecting onto me and basing their opinion of me on their projection. Simple as that. You are running off into a craziness here that has zero to do with my statement as well as attempting to redefine what I mean when I say 'about'. We're done here.
  17. I initially said "It really bugs me when people think their projection about me, their theory, is absolutely true...and act on it when relating to me. " And you informed me that projection isn't about what we think of another person. Projection is a type of psychological defense mechanism in which a person, consciously or unconsciously, attributes their own thoughts, feelings or traits onto another person or group. But when we project onto others we automatically develop an opinion of them because this is why we project in the first place -- to label the other as 'bad' so we don't have to feel like the bad one with the undesirable qualities. For example, say a mother felt her child was a bad, worthless child when in reality the mother feels like she is worthless on a subconscious level. That's projection, but it also involves what she thinks of the person she's projecting onto (the child).
  18. It is just past noon here. SL and the forums are 24/7 places. Yeah but often in the middle of the night not much is being posted. Last night it was like a US forum convention in the wee hours.
  19. Maybe she was just super intuitive! I remember a little bunny I created, carved out of soap and painted blue, that adorned the bathroom cabinet for years...lol.
