  1. that is kind of a gip. I live in a similar island and pay considerably less than that for about the same prims VS space.
  2. Yeah people forget that the only secure way to buy L$ is thru their own LL exchange. Even though SL is a virtual world, the L$ do have actual real life value. Not that you can liquidate them to real life money that easy but it IS a form of currency. Thinking you would get cheap L$ is like thinking someone is gonna sell you a dollar bill for three quarters. If someone is just giving you L$, it is not really a problem unless it is a larger amount. I have given strangers inworld a couple hundred L$ just to help them with something small. I have given friends L$ and friends have given me L$ but not a whole lot. Kind of like in RL when you might be like, "Hey Jill, can you spare a couple dollars cause i want to get a soda" or something frivilous. Don't feel too bad about getting scammed though, it happens to a lot of people. Happened to me once. Wasn't buying L$, but was suppose to get L$ from someone. I kind of knew it was a bad deal but I was able to afford the loss if that happened. Given the nature of the deal, it is not something that LL can do anything about anyways. You just have to keep in mind that if you are going to take any kind of gamble with your money or L$, make sure it is not more than you can easily afford to lose.
  3. Sometimes if too many scripts (or badly done) are running on a land it can cause lag issues. I don't know the details of that but it is something to ivestigate.

Amethyst Jetaime wrote: While there may always be people interested in breedables, I think the real question is not what the latest breedable craze is but what the next big thing that isn't breedable is going to be. As someone suggested, maybe SL invented breedables to try to compete with facebook's "farmville". So whatever crap is the craze on FB might end up in SL. MAYBE the latest thing for SL will be having like a titler that throws out random vague messages like, "Oh I wish it were not so" in hopes that the whole world will say, "What happened?" Yeah, I am gonna kick myself if that comes to be. So with make your own and flood the market - you can't really blame people for doing that cause supposedly the breedable sellers are making this fortune. But that means - the originators will have to make them better somehow to compete and make them worthy of buying instead of all the freebies and dollarbies that will hit. Me, I have no interest in breedables, I like to buy something ONCE and not have it be a money pit. Aside rent for my small land, I don't like dumping money into something constantly.
  5. All these I was using the same shape. When it comes to Erins, cosmo ain't got nothin to so with how I shape mine. Top right and bottom left - THIS is what I feel to be a "True Erin". Not the best hair but the first decent one I ever owned. Top left had different hair and skin, thus the drastic different look on the same shape. Bottom right - this was one of my very early attempts at making Erin. Get this - at the time, I thought I had done a wonderful job. The shape had mostly been set but I didn't know about good skins yet. Or about good clothes, or good hair, or good anything.
  6. for me it was someone I knew from another web forum. She had described SL and about how you can customize your character and all that. We ended up at the now defunct Avatar island. It was kind of a disappointment cause they had their little clique and I ended up being a wallflower. I soon moved on to explore other things in SL. These days I log in, see if a certain couple friends are on, maybe build something, and that is about it. Once again I get on SL looking for something to hold my interest, feel disappointed, and log out.

  8. late 30's here. Even though I don't always act it. And in real life i don't look it either. I am hot Erin.
  9. Poor little avatars should not be smoking.
  10. Just stay away from the islands that have the same people hanging out all the time. Some places you go, it is always the same people, wearing the same outfit, standing in their same spots. Typically these are cliques and by getting caught up in that boring ol SL style, you kind of limit yourself. A lot of welcome spots are like that. You hear about the latest dumb crap, rumors and gossip that often amounts to nothing. The key is to hang out with people from wherever other spots. Many you talk to it will never go beyond a first chat but for some, you might make semi-solid or solid friendships.Don't get caught up in the silly BS and things should be fine.
  11. Bree Giffen wrote: Yes, that happened to me once. A neighbor used my own teleporter to get to my skybox and started building next to me. I don't make it easy to get to my skybox now... Christ of Christs, that is kind of weird. That is about as awkward as in RL when the neighbor's dog takes a dump in your yard. I would have asked him, "hey buddy, while we are all into sharing and caring, would you like to borrow my toothbrush also?" That MIGHT have gotten the message across.
  12. Wiouldn't this be pleasant to have as a desktop?
  13. Account-wise i have 4. One is never used, one is seldom used, and the other is some male character I built but don't use much For my primary account of this one - I have too much wrapped up in it to be using the others For looks - I tend to switch my look often. I used to have a look I settled on for a couple years but lately it varies widely. She is always the bad girl and a fuller figure
  14. OH MY GYOD now sleep is gonna elude me completely! When I was logging onto FS, it had something about TPVs were gonna conduct a "historic" interview with LL about policy changes or something like that! I mean how do I wait for that and still be able to sleep? I can just imagine how exciting that will be. Some things are heart-pumpingly exciting - a sequal to your favorite movie, winning the lottery, a concert... But a "historic" interview between TPVs and LL? Move over C-Span If I am not too busy either sleeping, eating, at the gym, clipping my toenails, driving, working, or using the restroom, I am gonna check it out!
  15. Artie is a woman, probably my best friend here in SL.There is a Lou Gramm song called "say you will" that the line came off of. Well, he is dreaming of losing you, not Artie. The song came out around 1989 and SL wasn't invented yet. Yeah in the dream - I dream that some airplane pilot had more shots of tequila than he normally does before flying a plane and lost control and it hit one of the SL servers and all these avatars are trying to escape the server and running around screaming when they see the plane falling. Next thing you see is bloody mesh all over the place. If such an untimely demise of so many SL avatars did happen though, mine will be safe cause when I log out of SL, I safely TP her to the real world where catastrophes never happen. She is a pain in the ass at times. It is not unusual to find all my ice cream is gone and of course she has no idea where it went. But yes, sometimes i tell Artie "I can't sleep, I keep dreaming of losing you" and then i get a message. "An object called "marbles" was given to you by Artie." I think I still have a few missing

Quality is more important than quantity. I would rather have 2 or 3 good ones than even 1,000 pages of random names. Random pages of friends who you do not know who they are, never talk to them, etc... there is a website for JUST that purpose. It is blue and white and the biggest game in town right now. Think about this - would YOU want to be on someone's friend list when they have 100's already? How much time are they going to make for YOU? Calling someone a friend means something to me. It means I help them, they help me, we make time for each other, we trust each other. Few people in life will fit this bill.
  17. Randall Ahren wrote: Looks like a really nice place and quite roomy for entertaining. Do you have a pretty view from your deck? I can't tell for sure from the photo, but it looks like the deck may overlook a body of water, although I suppose it may be just blue sky. I live in one of IOP's properties. House land is small, just a 1024 and is surronded on 3 sides by water. I guess the view is OK. My house is cozy. I do have this one wide open spot I cannot figure what to do with... Yeah the house is pretty open all around. Lot of 80's stuff. You are welcome to contact me inworld if you get on.
  18. People have many house tastes in SL. Here I am in my blacktech house decorated the way I like it. The upstairs is similar except the sleep area has junk laying around and needs cleaned up.How many of you children of the 80's had the tee shirt from the poster on the right? Welcome to my humble commode.
  19. Saraya Starr wrote: Aww thankyou Randall /me blushes slightly. There was one line and well it was kind of memorable because it made me laugh out loud, I was having quite a nice chat in IM's with a man and he said to me " I know this may be senseless, but I want to rub my nose on the back of your hand." that is weird even for SL's awkward standards. It is a good photo though.

  21. Yeah best thing is to pick an obscure level like 1732 meters. Any increment of 100 is likely to have some annoying idiot put their platform next to yours.
