    Yes yes, other alphabet systems exist. We are aware. My personal gripe is not with their use as intended (words and whole names written in them) but with their inclusion as a vanity or other such nonsense.

    A slight aside: Where on Earth are some getting the idea that the OP's suggestion concerns usernames? The very title of the thread states this is for Display Names.

    Outside of incredibly specific use cases, special characters and the like should not have ever been allowed inside Display Names.

    As far as a survey is concerned .... Yeah, that's about as useful as this thread (among other things). You will have people who won't bother to answer for one reason or another, skewing the results. Ditto for not sending it out to everyone (at least then you'll have a somewhat more comprehensive grasp on the matter - refusal to answer from some or not). Meh. Like much that has come to pass over the years, I'll personally just end up rolling with it - like/agreeing with it or not.

    Redelivery Terminals, Web based item controls (very few of these around these days it seems), 'embedding' of FAQ pages into HUD (and other) item buttons .... Oh yes and lets not forget that at least some of what "people actually want" is not wanted by a fair few as well .... Part Devil's Advocate and part sarcasm here.

    The BoM thread in General reminded me to snap a shot of my latest Femboy setup! Base body is Belezza Freya with V-tech's Boi Chest for Freya (quite new it seems), fox textures are Whisk's Red Fox body mod in Blackberry, the head is the Foxen head by Sugarcult, eyes are Whisk's Wary Eyes (Sugarcult specific pack, Rage coloration), tail is the Aurascape Vixen Tail, hand and foot paws are Apricot Paws Handy Paws and Feety Peets, hair's Ayashi's Zet and the outfit is .:DL:.'s Spadele. Heh, I don't normally detail as much of what went into making a given form but thought I ought to this time in case anyone reading this has been looking for anything similar. Oh! And to make more Femboy types aware of this option as well! Though to warn ... There's not a lot of clothing options specifically for the Freya version of the V-tech Boi chest yet!

    Were it not for BoM, several of the avatar forms I have (some pictured in the album linked in my Sig, a few in one of the avatar threads here) would have been a real PITA and I sure as heck would have been taking up more inventory space making copies of parts. ETA: Reminds me, I should get a snapshot of the results I've had using a newer femboi chest ....

    Only when one allows it to be. The described tactic is all too often misused by those who wish to push their opinions as far as possible or otherwise by those with their own agenda.

    I would like to - in responding to Littleme above - amend my response to Love as well: Thus far, I have yet to see another, actual "side" to this at all. For there to be two (or more) sides to a discussion or argument, there must be actual, proper data (among many other things) presented or discussed (etc). That simply is not happening here (and elsewhere). One group has presented actual data while the other has presented absolute fantasy.

    "Debating" such people got us here. Plain and simple. No such implication was made, by the by. One side has actual, verifiable facts behind it, one does not. The former is worth responding to, the latter - especially when it uses the tactics shown here - simply is not. At all.

    That's nice. It's getting you nowhere. At all. Those who will listen to reason and fact, will do so. Those who won't, simply won't. Anyone on the fence can either do their homework and actually listen or fall willing victim to the dis/misinformation. Responding at all at this point lends an air of legitimacy to the claims being made.

    And not nearly as badly as some might think. That $50 I mentioned earlier (or was it in the other thread)? That is after the fee - in other words I have always factored the fees into the purchase itself. Funnily enough, it didn't make much of a difference whatsoever this month. A few L$ less but not so much as to be an issue. ETA: My parcel rent isn't even affected that much either - twenty cents more in fees. Said rent is also factored into the above amount.

    You can afford to pay, in a week, more than most spend in a month. An amount you've admitted was shifted from another weekly expense that was curtailed thanks to the pandemic. Fee changes are not pleasant. That is the beginning and end of the empathy I - personally - have for those who are much better off that choose to complain. Struggling content creator/venue owner/similar? They're the ones I am empathetic towards.

    As has been noted within this very thread, some rental agencies actually offer direct payment to them through PayPal. If the one you are going through does not, I suggest you bring it up to them as an option or find one that offers such. As for your question on the fairness of it? All you need to know concerning my view was summed up in my quoteless response to you a moment ago (in addition to the few other responses I have made throughout this thread). ETA: To be somewhat clearer and ensure the wrong impression is not given, while I do understand the reaction to the fee change it is the staggering amounts being discussed by some here as their expenditures that has me nonplussed. In some cases that is a good chunk of my RL rent or a segment of my food budget for a given month that some are saying they're spending a week.

    Change your buying habits - it really has not hit some of us as hard as you're presenting Windlight as a system only exists in very specific TPVs now - you'll have to build from scratch (if you went the clean install route) or import them all If you're using the System Requirements page as that basis for a rebuild to spec you're opening yourself up for major disappointment As Rowan pointed out above, there is already a thread on this
