  2. /me grins... well if you insist... :smileytongue:
  3. I love SL boots (RL ones too for that matter), when I was all fantasy and girlie in SL I had a boot/shoe collection second to none. These days it's more like RL (without work 'suited and booted') so it's scruffy jeans, trainers and casual/work style boots (Ving & Shiny Things do great ones). I got a really nice pair of boots at Ishtara's place once - a little more 'dressy' than the others but not ott. I'll save you the pics - they'd be fairly boring compared to yours :smileywink:
  4. I'm not sure if the barber is thrilled or demented!!! great pic :smileytongue:
  5. Once I find a hair that suits my mood I wear it to death until I get fed up of it or want a new 'image' At the moment I'm going for 'realism' (I know I know - boring as bedamned) and the hair I have found that comes closest is from 'Mad'. When I started in SL I think I changed my hair (and prob skin and shape) at least once a week - spent a fortune and ended up with a cluttered inv. These days I'm more relaxed about it all :smileyhappy:
  6. Maryanne Solo wrote: Mesh clothing will be good! You should be able to apply gravity and cloth settings and the like to the items. It should allow for greater accuracy for all inworld items. But I am no 3d expert. (yet:) Gravity to clothes would be good - I think someone said that hair might no longer 'invade' the avi as it does now as well - also a cool feature. I was thinking more about whether this will make a greater range of avatars possible - or if they will be more realistic - as in better feet etc. :smileyhappy:

We are all equal. Why, thank you Storm! Here's a smiley for you....of the pops a bub variety. /me giggles Nice - aspirational rather than accurate perhaps though - Suspiria wins at the moment for accurate unfortunately - people who don't like ranks need to vote for Irene's Jira Here :smileyhappy:
  8. I think they are due to arrive the same time as Mesh - and will be up to 64sqm. I can hardly wait myself :smileyhappy:
  9. Try a complete uninstall from your computer - to do this you will have to also go to where SL cache is kept on your hard drive (usually something like..."C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife" (Beware this will also delete all your chat and IM logs stored at that location so you may want to move them elsewhere first) Then restart your computer and reinstall V2.5 from SL site. Good Luck :smileyindifferent:
  10. As Nyll has already pointed out Gamer Fix is on Linden Lab's $L reseller list so you shouldn't really have a problem I think it's a bit like using an 'approved' TPV - of course if anything does go wrong LL will not be liable and I'm sure they won't intervene in any disputes. On the other hand I'd bet companies that get too many complaints made about them get dropped from the reseller list, so I think you're safe enough. It is annoying that Paypal is no longer accepted though, I haven't quite figured out why yet.
  11. Right back at the beginning I hated V2 and I still think it was released way too prematurely - that really shot it in the foot because so many people had bad experiences with it back then they have refused to even try it again. I love V2.5 - especially with Hitomi's Starlight skin (I can't praise that enough). For me now trying to use any of the V1 based viewers is like stepping back in time - like trying to use an old word processor as opposed to a computer. However I do think resistance will continue because once people make their minds up about something it's hard for them to change. It doesn't help that there's so many people still bashing it without having given it a fair trial of course (no - an hour or so is not a fair trial in my opinion - give it a few weeks - deffo 12 -15 hours at least of regular usage) I like TPVs too as they have the ability to cater for things that some people like (bouncing boobs come to mind). All in all unless one of the TPVs come up with a totally fabulous V2 viewer I can't see myself changing from V2.5 (and so on) for the moment. But one never knows what lies ahead - I believe blind loyalty to any piece of software is a bit... err... silly.:smileytongue:
  12. Suspiria Finucane wrote: The ranking system divides the community. I've noticed some people with high ranks despite being a very limited contrubutor in the past. I saw someone with only 800 posts and no solutions get Advisor status. I don't see how that's possible if a weighted system is in place. How can a computerized system play favorites? I agree totally Suspiria, frankly I'd love to see ranks and rating gone completely - if they belong anywhere they surely only belong in the Answers section - or perhaps the Technical areas. Just thinking :smileyindifferent:
  13. Prokofy Neva wrote: The 'ranks' may be there, but I certainly won't judge someone because of their 'rank' and I hope others work on the same logic too. If we all just ignored them they wouldn't even be an issue, so I've decided that's exactly what I'm going to do So...I guess that's why you've already reached the rank of advisor, then? Well you and I are both 'Members' (I'm wondering if a pun is intended), so we both know we didn't 'campaign' to get this rank - hence I presume that Suella had about the same input into getting her Advisor rank. Tut - no need for pettiness, people might think we're jealous - heaven forefend! Just saying :smileyindifferent:
  14. First I have to confess that I'm a real dumbo about things like this, but there's all this talk about mesh coming to the grid. I kind of 'get' what that means for builds/prims but how about avatars. What does mesh mean for avatars - and is there something in particular you would love to see happen? :smileyindifferent:
  15. What Irene said above - vote (and watch) for the Jira :smileyindifferent: Irene Muni wrote: JIRA about "Ranks in Forums and SL Answers are unnecessary and inconsistent with community spirit": https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3705 Please, vote AND WATCH (on March 8th, the voting feature in JIRA will no longer be available).
  16. Maxine Kohime wrote: Well, they try to mute critical voices, another attempt of LL to ignore thier customers, cos we cant voice our concerns to the public now... Youre sooo great LL!^^ Once again I disagree with you Maxine - this is actually LL 'listening' to it's customers, and I agree with Venus - if you are so concerned about how LL handle stuff you really do need to start attending the various get togethers they have - such as Community Tools User Group feedback sessions - they can actually be quite useful.
  17. I have done loads and loads of things over the past 3+ years in SL that I could never have done in RL. From building amazing (as in completely architecturally unsound) houses etc to being a stripper (coughs) to owning a few cool clubs and venues and some RP too. My main achievement though has been in making friends from far flung places and the effect they have had on my RL - supporting me through stuff I could never discuss with most RL acquaintances and sharing some of the best of times with me. This is what keeps me in SL - meeting people, hearing stories and letting go of the worries of RL for just a wee while. SL is what I do instead of watching TV and it's far far better. :smileyhappy:
  18. I'm about - more or less - I keep running into old 'familiars'. Some may not make it back I guess... the weekend will probably give a better picture of who is back and about. Hi everyone who is here :smileyhappy: (I WANT BETTER/MORE SMILEYS)
  19. I didn't read the 'Herald' article (I'll admit to rarely reading SL related articles) before reading this thread. Having now read it I just have to note how the vitriol from the forums can be carted to other landscapes too. IN MY OPINION that is a scary reality. Not because I am afraid of what others might say about me in other places, but the mindset of people who continue to drag arguments not just from thread to thread, but also from venue to venue continues to amaze and intrigue me. I have disagreed a few times with Suspiria - once it became a bit heated if I remember rightly - I would never dream of bringing up what happened in one thread/argument into another - that just screams 'drama whore' to me. Again that is my opinion. Now I know many people here do take arguments from one thread to another - so if any of you want to feel insulted by what I just wrote above I guess that's your privilege and right - but just give it a bit of thought for the good of these new shiny forums - if it's all going to be about previous battles what good is it going to do for anyone (including yourselves) and it definitely won't help promote the SL we love to new users. I too (having read the article) think it was a shame that Suspiria's name was left out - I know she contributed mightily to the event before, during and after - credit always belongs where it's due - regardless of any perceived shortcomings of the person involved. In this case it seems it was an oversight, as an observer I can accept that,. It's harder to accept the need for the onslaught that happened at the mention of this omission. Finally - at the risk of sounding like a moralistic old crone - it would be nice if people could resist from making those cutting remarks that spark off the 'worse of the forums' really it is hard to accept as genuine those who present as being 'nice' but only to certain people. I find arguing the argument in the appropriate place and manner far outweighs and possible kudos earned for taking a slap at someone we think of as being unpopular. Please address all hate mail to me in person - don't clog the forums with it. Thanks.
  20. Funny (and not at all really) how on the first day of the new forum old jibes still get thrown about. I bow out and disassociate - pity - might have been a great thread. :smileysad:

Willow Danube wrote: Frankly, there would be only two things that would probably cause some concerns to me. - people who thinks they don't belong to the rank they are in now and therefore feeling left out or unimportant. This will discouraged them from helping out or worst, taking it out on other unsuspecting residents. - living up to the rank bestowed by the powers that be. Oi... nobody said I had to live up to anything... Did they??? *trembles
  22. I got 'promoted' to Member today - *polishes my shiney new badge. (No idea why though - my brand of insanity must be fun or something). :smileyvery-happy:
  23. Unfortunately no popcorn... I do have a very nice, lightly grilled mackrel though... passes you the plate. :smileywink:
  24. *Waves to everyone... so... erm.... yes... *Coughs... I'll be back when I can think of something to say. :smileytongue:
