  1. Hello hoku. You can't find your avatar? You mean you don't see it? If yes, ctrl+9 to reset your camera and you will see again your avatar. When you say your home you mean a Linden Home? If yes, the following links include analytic instructions about it: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-overview/ta-p/700103 http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-reference-guide/ta-p/700105 http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-FAQ/ta-p/700101 Some more details would help for a better answer. You can edit your post if you wish (Options --> Edit)
  2. Hello Nerxual. Did you try other viewer ? If not, give a try.
  3. Hello hollietwilson. It's a known problem and usually it get fixed if you clear your cache manually: XP) - C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME) - Application Data \ SecondLife and C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME)\ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Second Life (Vista) and (Win 7) - C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife and C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ Secondlife Delete everything in those folders and restart first your computer and after the program. Usually the folder Appdata is a hidden folder. (Windows Tools \ Folder Options \ View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders) Have in your mind that if you clear your cache manually you will lost all your private conversations which are saved in your computer. To avoid it copy the folder with your username in the folder Secondlife in another position in your hard disk. If you have more that 1 viewers installed in your computer, you must to do it for all following the same paths in your hard disk. For example C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ PhoenixViewer Good luck
  4. Hello Solbarondi. My feeling is that you wrote the name wrong when you tried to save it. Maybe a good idea is go back to that place hoping to meet the avatar again. You never know. Good luck and next time write carefully the username.
  5. Rockwood wrote: So what everyone is saying is that I have to take the house to get the land? After I accept a house, am I allowed to take it into my inventory and not use it? I've inspected all the houses and I don't like any of them. I'll go looking as ya'll have suggested. Thank everyone for your time and your suggestions. I appreciate it very much. Rockwood No. You get the house with the land. The land is 512sq m2 in Mainland, includes a Linden House (house is 60 prims - you can choose between 4 different themes for it) and also you have the right to use 117 additional prims, to decorate your house. Analytical instructions for the Linden Homes you will get with the following links: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-overview/ta-p/700103 http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-reference-guide/ta-p/700105 http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-FAQ/ta-p/700101
  6. Hello Tandero. Just now i read your post in forums and i answered there. About hosting now. 1)You need experience (i mean to have worked in other clubs before) 2)You need big familiarity with local chat (to be able to control it) and generally with public places 3)You need gestures and knowledge how to use them during events 4)You need to know to manage the contest's board (almost all clubs have it) 5)You need a good avatar, clothes and other accessories 6)You need to welcome everyone arrives and to be careful not to forget someone. 7)You need to read the forums because often people are looking for new stuff. 8)You need to visit the clubs arround in world and to fill applications. 9)You need good public relations 10)You need to win the confidence of the owner and the managers of the club and to convince them that you are able to do that job. 11)You need to know to work and to manage the group chat (notices, invitations etc) 12)You need to be in the club at least some days a week if not every day and especially during the events, eighter you are hosting, eighter no. 13)You need to purchase or get a tipjar. All hosts and hostesses arround get payed with tips. It's very very rare for a host to have a salary. Usually tips are 100% for you when you will rezz your tipjar. More or less tips, it's up to you. Prove that you are worth for more.
  7. Hello Tandero. Let's see the cases one by one: 1)Commerce: You don't like or you don't know how to run that buziness (advertisment, increase traffic etc) 2)Dancer: You can't work because your schedule isn't set in stone (as you said) 3)Creation: You don't know to make clothes. (Building i guess the same) 4)Mesh: You aren't good with technology. 5)Real estate: Seems kind of risky. 6)DJ: You dont know to spin. 7)Money hunter: Requires hours for few lindens. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Guide_to_Jobs_in_Second_Life This is the link with the jobs you can do in SL. As i read your post i think that the only job you can do is to work as a dance at a freelance place. How long really you are in world and you haven't found yet a freelance club? There are several arround. Some of them without commissions (you keep the 100% of tips). Use the search and find freelance clubs or ask your friends. In addition is suggested to read the topics in this category and in "Wanted". Often people are looking for new stuff. Good luck.
  8. Hello Tahuti. True the issue with zip codes exists for many users last 3 days. At first is good to look the jira, to vote there and to add your comment. https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3888 If you aren't a premium member it is not suggested your age manually (ticket) insomuch according LL, you can use it "if you are a "premium or Concierge customer and you experience difficulty verifying your identity on the Second Life website". On the other side you can try to become "Account Verified", having "Payment Info on File". This way you have access in most of adult regions. The last solution although i can't quarantee that you will get a reply is to send a mail to support@secondlife.com You haven't to lose something if you give a try. Good luck.
  9. Hello Alotta. At first are you in a region where you have rights to rezz? If yes, have you the available prims? No specific instructions required to unpack a bed. Try to move to a Sandbox. Fermi Sandbox is a place which is suggested. Try to unpack the bed there. If your problem remains, edit your post (Options --> Edit) and add more details.
  10. Hello Wolfhawk. If the previous suggustions and tries didin't work for you, try to clear your cache manually: (XP) - C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME) - Application Data \ SecondLife and C: \ Documents and Settings \ (USER NAME)\ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Second Life (Vista) and (Win 7) - C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife and C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ Secondlife Delete everything in those folders and restart first your computer and after the program. Usually the folder Appdata is a hidden folder. If you have more that 1 viewers installed in your computer, you must to do it for all following the same paths in your hard disk. For example C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ PhoenixViewer Relog in a protected land without land (Smith, Lime, Aqua), open your inventory, write something in search there and wait fetching ALL your items till the last one. After that try to change outfit choosing one with just the necessary stuff (skin, shape, hair, eyes, pants and shirt) without any attachments. Good luck.
  11. Bonjour Loryanne.
  12. What would you do in that occasion in real? Be teached by your mistake and don't repeat it neighter in SL nor in RL if there aren't the suitable conditions. Soon you will realize that SL is a big school for all.
  13. Bonjour Tyma.
  14. Hello Fantesia. My first suggestion is to try to relax. We are here to help. Well, if it happened with the new update of Viewer 2, unistall the program and download again an older version of Viewer 2. See if that helps: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Supported_Viewers After that log in a protected land without lag like Smith, Lime or Aqua, open your inventory, type something in search there and wait fetching ALL your items till the last one. That means you download again, you get back your inventory. Keep in touch here and inform us if you fixed your problem or you need more help. Good luck.
  15. Hello Vanilo. If you see your avatar like a egg means that your avatar isn't fully loaded. At first try to rebake your textures with Ctrl+Alt+R. If it doesn't work for you, open your inventory, write something in search there and wait fetching ALL your items till the last one. After that, move to a region with less lag. Smith or Lime or Aqua areprotected lands which arerecommended. There, try to change outfit. Choose one with just the necessary stuff (skin, shape, hair, eyes, pants and shirt) without any attachments. If the problem remains, test your avatar. In Viewer 2 give the command: Menu Develop (Ctrl+Alt+Q) --> Avatar --> Character Tests --> Test Male / Female. The last you can do for now is to clear your cache. In Viewer 2, give the command: Menu Me --> Preferences --> Setup --> Reset --> OK. Relog in a protected land, open your inventory, type something in seach there and repeat the same process as i described. Let us know if you fixed your problem or you need more help. Good luck.
  16. Hello Hippie, hello to all. Have a great weekend you all! My first post in this topic at the 79th page! :smileyvery-happy: @Wildcat: Awesome video, one of my favs.. .:smileytongue:
  17. Hello Govindira. It is no only for you. Here is the Announcement: June 2-3, 2011 the Forums will be undergoing some restructuring. Please note that you will need to resubscribe to threads after the restructuring is done. Sorry for any inconvenience! Additionally, if you cannot locate a thread you created, please look at your profile page to see your posts and the associated boards. Moved boards or threads may now appear as not read yet. To fix this you can go to "My Settings" > Preferences tab > General. Change to "Mark posts as read: Automatically, when I log off" and Save. Log out and back in, then change your settings back to normal.
  18. Hello Mackenzey. Sounds odd. Personally first time i hear something like that. Maybe someone older than me knows more. Feel free to add me in world just to see if i am still in your friends after you relog.
  19. Hello Nuria. It is no necessary to create new questions just to reply to the previous answers. You can edit your posts (Options --> Edit). If i am right a friend of me use this program for free. You haven't of course all the options as with the full edition but you can chat with your friends anytime you wish. I know because he chats with me daily. If you have already contacted the support there and you didin't get a reply how we could help otherwise? Duplicated: Other answers at: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Technical/SL-on-Iphone-is-not-working/qaq-p/910209
  20. Hello Emma. If you forgot your password visit the following page and follow the instructions to get it back. https://secondlife.com/my/account/request.php It is the password recovery page. If you forgot your username, you can retrieve it: From your welcome email From Second Life website Have in your mind that if you registered multiple Second Life accounts with the same email address, you will be able to retrieve the username of only your first account. This is a known system limitation. If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account. To start the process: Open a support case. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue. Choose Reactivate an old account. Enter the required information Click Submit. Even if your account is restored, the associated inventory, land, and Linden dollar balance may be unrecoverable.
  21. Hello Majorino. All info you need at the following link: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Camera_Control
  22. Hello Sigh. We can't help or suggest something if we don't know exactly the problem. Edit your post (Options --> Edit) to add more details.
  23. Hello Digdirt. Same exactly question here Have a look.
  24. Hello. Seems that it is a usual problem for several users last 2-3 days. Peewee (recognized helper here) started today a jira about that. You can vote there and add comments: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/WEB-3888
  25. Hello Chey. You blocked in some adult regions because the estate owner restricts the access only to residents who are verified with age verification. Account Verified (Payment info on file) doesn't mean necessary "Age Verified". EDIT: For more details you can check out the following link. As i see we have some changes by Rand Linden the day before yesterday: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Account-verification-types/ta-p/805983
