  1. The only 'official' that I knew of so far was Inaya's conversation with Patch saying it was going to bridge two continents. In the SSP thread, somewhere around page 25-27 I think, is where there is some speculation about the Sansara and Jeogeot location, but I don't think we've heard from LL on the exact location.
  2. Interesting thought - the entire SSP block would fit pretty well into that area. We've all assumed that it would go between Sansara and Jeogeot because someone brought up how well it would fit in that area. The current build on the SSP regions do have some inland waterways. Grant, not a lot, but there are also still areas not fully developed yet in the SSP block. With and LoD setting of 2 and my normal draw distance of 112-160, I'm not having any issues with the houses disappearing too soon when I cam out or look around the area. I also think that the houses and houseboats are large enough. While some folks will get a Linden Home and live there forever, for the most part LL thinks of these as beginner homes, a way to give a new person a home right away without them having to figure out land stuff. It will give many new people the "land ownership itch" and they'll move on to buying their own, possibly larger areas and thus giving LL more money in tier (or via multiple Premium accounts).
  3. It is only that old version of the script that fails to work right most of the time. If I have an item that does not have any script in it and I create a separate prim with the new version of the auto-hide script, I have never had an issue where it did not properly hide when worn and properly unhide when detached. However, it seems that 99% of the clothing I get that has an auto-hide already in it, must be using the older version of the script because it does fail 9 times out of 10.
  4. Based on the threads that we've seen around here, there's a big demand for them sugar daddies already.
  5. Since the Maitreya Body Alpha automatically alphas the hands with the body, I'm assuming that by "original skin hands' you might be referring to the ones called "Maitreya Mesh Body - Hands (Classic)'. If that is the case, then detach those and, as Halo said, only add the 'Maitreya Mesh Body - Bento Hand R' and 'Maitreya Mesh Body - Bento Hand L' items from the Maitreya folder. If it is not the Maitreya Classic Hands that you are talking about, but instead you really do mean the original system hands, then either you are not wearing the "Maitreya Mesh Body - Alpha' that came in the folder or something is really messed up with that alpha. If, by chance, the alpha is messed up, just unpack a new one from your box - or go to the Maitreya store and get a redeliver of the box so that you can unpack a new Alpha.
  6. The 'region has started the logout process' is because they system hasn't fully finished the forced logout that happened. Since you do typically get logged in for a minute or so, next time you get in, immediately click Ctrl+Shift+1 to bring up the Statistics window. Near the top will be Packet Loss and Ping Sim. Keep an eye on those numbers, maybe take a screen shot, and report back what they are showing when you get booted out.
  7. Are you getting inworld at all or is it crashing before getting you fully logged in? Try reducing your bandwidth -- before logging in, bring up your preferences, click on the Setup tab and reduce your bandwidth to 1200-1500.
  8. Interesting that it seems to have cleared for you today. I've had absolutely horrid texture and object rendering today, no matter where I've gone - and that is very much unlike my normal SL experience.
  9. Start the viewer BUT DO NOT LOG IN. In the menu (top left) click 'Help / About Secondlife'. Copy everything in the popup window and paste it here.
  10. My alt couldn't do any editing of any sort to the object. Let me know how your testing goes, especially if you get different results, because then I'd be curious as to what settings might be different between the tests.
  11. What you are talking about is some item/container that is modifiable but contains a no-mod script. That no-mod script does not prevent the container item from being modified, so the listing would be 'Modify'. This is also why many creators include a notecard explaining that it might show as no-mod in inventory, yet that is simply due to the script and when you rez it or wear it, you really can modify it. I know a few hair creators that set their hair as modifiable, but also include a resizer script for customer convenience. Those hairs will typically show as no-mod in inventory because the resizer script is usually no-mod. However, if the container object (like a gift card) is actually set as no-copy/no-modify/transfer, but then contains a script that is no-transfer, the final object truly does become no-copy/no-mod/no-transfer. Since the container is no-mod, you cannot remove the no-transfer script from it and even though the container was not marked as no-transfer, the script within it will prevent it being transferred. I have no clue how that gets labeled on the MP - if it is even possible to list an item with no permissions.
  12. The covenant for the old homes does have the line 'Linden Homes may not be removed, modified, exchanged, set or deeded to group, or transferred', but says nothing about outside structures at all. In the new covenant, since it does mention outside structures, I take the "may not be modified' part to mean that the house itself is 'no mod'. Paging @Patch Linden -- With the new covenant and the statement about outside structures, could an enclosed patio be adding onto the house if it uses the proper textures and stays in theme?
  13. Patch specifically said that these homes will have a modified covenant as compared to the original Linden homes. Per Inaya's conversation with Patch (https://modemworld.me/2019/03/15/new-linden-homes-preview/😞 Another change with these homes are that skyboxes are now allowed:
  14. Well, I'll be darned. I also always that that 'rigged' items could not be modified. Does the 'modify' ability apply to resizing a rigged item or just changing texture/color/etc...?
  15. Lots of discussion about the homes in the SSP thread, starting about halfway down page 25:
  16. And the Houseboats have these texture options:
  17. This sign at one corner of the streets w/ houses:
  18. Correct. They stated it in this blog post: "And remember, the setup fee includes your first month’s payment."
  19. Actually, you can. Create an object and set it to No Copy, No Modify; put scripts inside that are No Transfer. You can sell that and the results in an item with No Copy, No Modify, and No Transfer. I have lots of gift cards like that, some clothing/accessories, and many Applier & Texture HUDs.
  20. The mailboxes in front of the houses will give you a choice of the 4 versions that they rezzed at the preview area. Ditto for the houseboats -- there are currently 4 versions to choose from. Maybe they'll add other versions later for differently styled/themed areas.
  21. It looks like they finally got it moved to the correct location: Though the forum title itself implies that it is just for renting out FULL Private Islands. Not sure why they renamed that - to me the former title made more sense.
  22. When I initially looked at the map and the size of the SSP area and then the size of space between continents, it seems like the SSP size fits better between Heterocera and Sansara. Not to mention that there is actually open space between those two continents to drop something in. Whereas between Sansara and Jeogeot, there seems to be lots of island to be moved. Then again, after looking at then entire SSP size, at the same scale as the other continents and space between them, SSP seems too large for between Heterocera and Sansara. It does seem to mostly fit to bridge Sansara and Jeogeot. Here is SSP without me changing the scale on the map:
  23. That's because you are a known real estate person. The process of selling abandoned land to folks cheaply just by asking is mostly to encourage Premium membership and encourage Mainland ownership, not to sell off land to be flipped for a profit. I don't think we actually know for sure. Patch said that it will bridge 2 continents, but didn't say where. Here is the post that speculates where it will go - seems logically valid: https://community.secondlife.com/forums/topic/426577-ssp/?do=findComment&comment=1870305
